Soon it came to Mikoto’s turn.
“My name is Uchiha Mikoto. I like sweets and my friends, I dislike arrogant idiots and my dream is to become a strong kunoichi to protect everyone.” She said.
‘Guess Kushina and I are rubbing off on her more than we thought.’ Akira mused, hearing the open insult to the Uchiha clan.
Next was Hana.
“My name is Hyuga Hana. I like eating Ramen, I dislike people who abuse power and my dream is to help a lot of people.” Hana finished, sitting back down.
‘Hinata really did take after her mom, both in eating habits and how gentle they are.’ Akira thought.
Thirdly, Kushina.
“Hello! My name is Uzumaki Kushina. I like spending time with my friends and family, I dislike bullies, and my dream is to spend the rest of my life with my loved ones.” Kushina said, enthusiastically.
‘Her dream changed.
Well being Hokage does sound like a lot of work.’
And finally, it was Akira’s turn.
“My name is Akira. I like my friends and family, I hate unnecessary work and my dream is to live a happy life with everyone I love.” Akira said.
‘Technically not a lie, all that grinding is fun and necessary for the future.’
“Ok class, since we all introduced ourselves, it’s time to go over what we’ll be doing this term. First, there’ll be Konoha’s history, then the will of fire, thirdly would be chakra and lastly we’ll be doing some light physical exercises.” Daiki said, writing each topic on the board.
‘Can’t believe there’s a whole term of studying the will of fire, what are we gonna do, break down what every individual letter means?’ Akira thought sarcastically.
“Today we’ll start with Konoha’s history, take out your textbooks everyone.” Daiki continued.
Akira, already regretting coming here, just turned to Kushina.
“Hey Kushina, can we share textbooks? I’m feeling kinda lazy.” Akira whispered.
“Sure.” She replied, pushing the book in the middle.
‘I’m definitely not gonna miss out on being closer to Akira.
Take that cow-breasted Tsunade!’ Kushina thought triumphantly.
Seeing how close together they were, she blushed slightly, but leaned in a little closer.
“Konoha was founded by the first Hokage-sama. It was made so that children, like yourselves, wouldn’t have to fight in the never ending wars back then.” Daiki started.
Kushina was in his personal space, taking deep breaths and barely focusing on the lesson.
“What’re you doing?” He whispered amusedly, raising a brow,” You sound like a dog.”
Kushina, realizing what she did, turned bright scarlet, like a tomato.
“Sor-sorry, I was just-no wait I’m not a dog!” She whispered back, belatedly realizing what Akira said and glaring at him while giving him a cute pout.
Akira smiled, and pinched her nose.
The two were blissfully unaware of the jealous stares coming from straight in front of them.
During lunch, Akira and the girls went to the playground to have fun.
The Ino-Shika-Cho trio tried to join Akira but were quickly driven away by three zeparate glares from the girls.
While eating the bento Mito prepared for them, Akira saw the famous swing where, in the future Naruto would be swinging alone, while watching the other kids in envy and longing.
“Akira, try this tamagoyaki.” Kushina said.
But before Akira could answer, Hana joined in.
“Try these tempura Akira.” She said.
Not to be undone, Mikoto calmly put her chopsticks in front of Akira.
“Try this, I made it myself.” She said, holding her pork cutlet smugly.
Kushina and Hana looked at her with surprise, then envy.
Both looked at each other and then nodded, silently vowing to not let Mikoto surpass them.
The rest of class was more theory, mostly on the basics that ninjas needed to know.
Walking towards the gate, Akira only saw Mito waiting for them.
“Did Hana and Mikoto’s parent not come?” He asked curiously to Mito.
She smiled, while stroking his hair.
‘Grr, I swear I’m gonna be the king of headpats one day.’
“No, I thought the girls could come over for dinner as it is the first day of school so I told them in advance.” Mito said.
At home, they all helped set the table.
Tsunade wasn’t there because she was on a mission that was outside of Konoha.
“So how was your day, tell me all about it.” Mito asked, looking alot like a high school girl talking about her friends love life.
“It was alright, the teacher didn’t look like he had his soul sucked out, so that was a plus.” Akira started, head down and stabbing at his food with his fork. This story is hosted at novelping . com.
“Come now Akira, school isn’t that bad a place. What about you girls?” Mito chided.
“It was fun! Hana and Mikoto were right I front of us so we talked alot!” Kushina said, a smile plastered on her face.
“Not during classes I hope. And you, Hana?” Mito continued.
“It was nice, Mito-sama. Spending all this extra time with my friends was one of the most enjoyable things of the year for me.” Hana said, a small, gentle smile, playing her lips.
Mito nodded, and lastly, turned to Mikoto.
“It was…educational. Learning about the history of the village, and chakra more in depth that what was taught in the clan, was interesting.” She said, a thoughtful look on her face, quietly recalling the teachings by Daiki-sensei.
“I’m glad you all had fun, do try and get along with the rest of your classmates, you will be spending the next six years with them after all.” Mito finished.
After dinner, the four went to the living room.
“Hey, hey Akira, what do you think I should study, besides fuinjutsu.” Kushina asked, after she took her seat.
Akira was startled.
He looked left and right, then out the window, to confirm the sun was setting on the west and not the east.
‘Kushina asking about studying?
Willingly?
Did a Yamanaka switch mind’s with her?’ Akira questioned himself, seriously doubting if this was the same Kushina he knew.
“You…want to study?” He asked hesitantly.
Seeing his antics, Kushina pouted, and playfully pinched his arm.
“I can study if I want too you know. I just…don’t want to get left behind, I know how much work you do.” She said, her voice getting smaller by the end of her sentence.
Seeing her determination, Akira seriously pondered what else she could do.
“Well, you could study to be a medic-nin. Since you awakened your healing physique recently, your body has an easier time using yang chakra and you can a use shadow clones like me now too. With Tsunade here, you’ll quickly excell at it.” Akira said, a thoughtful look on his face.
“You can also become a sensor-nin, which is what I would recommend for you. Since you also recently awakened the Kagura mind’s eye, ask grandma Mito to help train it. You can also ask Tsunade for her enhanced strength techniques since you like punching people, and just beat up any bad guys you sense.”
Kushina nodded.
She liked the sound of the second one, especially seeing how much studying Akira had to do just to get started in medicine.
But that didn’t mean she would abandon the first suggestion entirely no, like Akira said, she could just abuse shadow clones.
“Um, cam I join in on the medic lessons, I would like to learn so I can help people.” Hana said gently, raising her hand.
