These past few days, Xu Honglei has stayed calmly at home, waiting for the Loan to arrive in his account. As soon as the money arrives, he will start his Entrepreneurship and Make Money.

What was Make Money for? Of course, it was for enjoying life.

For a man, enjoying life first meant having a woman for Bed-Warming and releasing the pressure from his overflowing Hormones.Full novel: In This Life, I Love Money and Myself, and I'm Having the Time of My Life — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

He had already solved this problem: Su Wanying was by his side.

Although Su Wanying was older than Xu Honglei, she was only twenty-two and had just graduated from University. She was at a woman’s most beautiful age, with a beautiful face, a good figure, smooth, delicate skin, and plenty of natural Collagen.

As for her having a boyfriend, why worry about that? Just dump him and be done with it. What more could you want?

With the Hormones problem solved, the next issue was the material side of life.

You did not have to wait until you were wealthy to enjoy life.

With little money in hand, he could improve the parts of his life that cost little and affected his daily routine.

First, he threw out the old one-and-a-half-meter double wooden bed at home. He replaced it with a one-point-eight-meter double solid-wood storage bed.

He chose a moderately firm palm-fiber mattress instead of the popular Simmons mattress.

Simmons mattresses were too soft. Sleeping on one for a long time was uncomfortable and unhealthy.

He threw away all the cheap, faded sheets, pillowcases, and Duvet Covers he had been using. He replaced them with a pure-cotton four-piece bedding set from a large Supermarket.

Materials used directly against the skin were best made of pure cotton. Cotton felt gentler, and matching patterns on the sheets, Duvet Cover, and pillowcases looked more attractive.

Xu Honglei no longer used a cotton quilt, either. Instead, he used a silk-wadding quilt that was soft, light, and warm.

Of course, improving one’s life did not mean wasting things. He still used anything that remained usable. He spread the old cotton quilt over the mattress to keep the sheet from slipping.

He kept the two newer cotton quilts in the cabinet as spares. In winter, he could use them as Coverlets.

Xu Honglei’s Old House had no heating, so winters were cold. An electric mattress could warm the bed, but one quilt was not enough for winter; he needed at least two.

Cotton quilts were heavier, so they pressed the silk-wadding quilt down more securely.

He also replaced his towels with thick, absorbent ones. The thin towels he had used before made his skin sting whenever he wiped his face.

He also replaced the soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and other items with quality brand-name products. He refused to live like the older generation and make do with everything.

These things looked much more expensive than what he had used before, but they did not cost that much.

Xu Honglei had a principle: daily necessities were worth the price as long as they were good. Using quality products every day made life feel better.

The older generation believed that anything still usable should remain in use, whether or not it worked well or felt comfortable.

Even twenty years later, when their incomes could afford better things, they would still be reluctant to replace them.

But Xu Honglei had lived one lifetime more than they had, so he would not be foolish. If he could enjoy something, why not enjoy it instead of deliberately making himself suffer?

Of course, Xu Honglei did not spend money recklessly. He spent only what needed spending.

He did not replace the old furniture at home, nor did he plan to renovate the house.

This Old House was about to undergo Demolition and relocation, so renovating it would be pointless. Demolition and relocation usually ignored renovations, and furniture was usually chosen to match them. Replacing the furniture without renovating the house meant little.

He did not have much money left, so improving the parts of his daily life that mattered most was the best use of it.

His Adoptive Father had bought him nothing but cheap street-market goods. Their styles were outdated, and their materials were terrible.

Now that Xu Honglei was living alone and had at least a little money in hand, he had to buy himself some better things.

At a brand-name store, he chose two sets of T-shirts and shorts, a pair of genuine-leather sandals, and several pairs of more comfortable, better-quality underwear.

As for all his old summer clothes, he threw them away.

He bought only two summer outfits and one pair of sandals because September was approaching and summer was nearly over. They would be enough, and he could buy better ones the following year.

Spending money to enjoy life did not mean wasting it.

After shopping for clothes, Xu Honglei visited Tony’s salon, got a more fashionable hairstyle, and bought a Member card.

He had always worn a crew cut. He looked decent only because he was somewhat handsome, but in this life he had realized that money was meant to be earned and spent.

A beautiful woman could gain many advantages from her looks and might even make a living from her face. The same was true of handsome men.

Xu Honglei did not expect to make a living from his looks, but making himself more handsome might attract a few more pretty girls. That made it well worth the effort.

Having lived one lifetime already, he knew that women valued Facial attractiveness more than men did. Otherwise, where had the saying that women were five times as lustful as men come from?

They would demand a Bride Price of three hundred and eighty thousand from an ugly man, but give themselves to a handsome man for free, or even pay to pursue him.

Being handsome could sometimes be used like money.

Xu Honglei managed to Win Over Su Wanying in this life because he was more proactive than in his previous life, but mainly because his Facial attractiveness far exceeded Li Hu’s.

Besides daily necessities, Xu Honglei also improved his everyday diet.

First, he could not go without fruit.

There was no need to buy the freshest fruit. If you knew how to choose, fruit that had sat for a while and looked wilted was sweeter, more fragrant, and better value.

Fruit was not only for eating. Xu Honglei also cut it into small pieces, added goji berries, red dates, rock sugar, and the like, and boiled them into juice.

On a scorching summer day, a mouthful of chilled fruit juice from the refrigerator was incredibly refreshing.

Sometimes, Su Wanying made a special trip to Xu Honglei’s place for a glass of chilled fruit juice. Of course, she usually did not leave as soon as she arrived; she had to endure his pounding.

Second, Xu Honglei refused to compromise when it came to his daily diet.

Xu Honglei had been single for a long time in his previous life. Since he could not afford to eat out, he had developed excellent cooking skills. He could not compare with a hotel chef, but he could still prepare several impressive home-style dishes.

Braised fish, braised pork, braised spare ribs, Cola chicken wings, cola chicken wing roots, pig’s feet stewed with soybeans, chicken stewed with cabbage, and large-bone yam soup usually left no leftovers when he served them to guests.

Besides the meat dishes, guests also devoured Xu Honglei’s stir-fried shredded potatoes, mung bean sprouts, dry-fried cauliflower, vinegar-fried cabbage, cold lotus-root slices, and cold cucumber.

Eating and drinking well was the cheapest form of happiness for a Loser working beast. If you could have it, you should never give it up.
