Omega’s lips are moist, and the tip of his tongue is crimson, presenting an alluring color that makes one’s mouth water, even in the dimly lit car.
Like a perfectly baked pudding, or a strawberry stuck to cake cream, it makes people curious and wonder what kind of sweetness it will taste like.
For a moment, the only sound in the quiet air was their breathing, their breaths rising and falling in tension.
Gu Fengying’s gaze was fixed on Xu Juexi’s mouth. Xu Juexi stared blankly into Gu Fengying’s eyes, unsure when this “observation” would end.
”Hmm…”
”It looks great,” Gu Fengying finally spoke, commenting, “Your tongue looks no different from a normal person’s, and… your mouth is very healthy, and your teeth are beautiful.”
Xu Juexi thought it was over and finally breathed a sigh of relief, but Gu Fengying said again: “The observation method is probably not that useful. Xiaoxi, I’m going to touch it gently. Don’t be nervous.”
Xu Juexi’s eyes widened, and the next second, he pressed his finger to the very center of his tongue.
Tears welled up in Xu Juexi’s eyes instantly, a feeling that was hard to describe.
Xu Juexi, with tears welling up in his eyes, hummed a few times under Gu Fengying’s hand, as if pleading.
His waist went limp, and his body felt tingly and numb, like a rabbit being held by the neck. He just hoped that Gu Fengying could finish the rather unprofessional examination as soon as possible.
”The reaction was huge.”
Gu Fengying seemed to chuckle softly. Xu Juexi’s eyes were filled with tears, making them indistinct. He then hummed twice to express his protest.
Gu Fengying withdrew his hand, took two tissues, wiped the saliva on Xu Juexi’s lips, and then wiped his own hands.
”Does it hurt when you touch it?” he asked.
Xu Juexi thought for a moment, then shook his head and said, “I don’t feel uncomfortable. But… it’s strange.”
”Strange?” Gu Fengying turned his head, seemingly preparing to start the car: “Does Xiaoxi dislike this feeling?”
Xu Juexi hesitated for a moment, then shook his head.
Although it was a little embarrassing to admit, Xu Juexi had to confess that the feeling was actually quite comfortable.
The soreness and tingling made Xu Juexi wish he could press down harder with his fingers, perhaps that would relieve the pain.
Perhaps it was because of this expectation that Xu Juexi subconsciously chased after Gu Fengying when he tried to pull his hand away.
”I…I want…” Xu Juexi blinked, “Could you…touch me again?”
The alpha’s hand, which had been suspended in mid-air, was brushed against Xu Juexi’s cheek. Gu Fengying lowered his eyes, while Xu Juexi’s gaze appeared quite innocent.
Gu Fengying: “Xiaoxi, you can’t just say things like that to people.”
Xu Juexi was unhappy: “Why?”
Gu Fengying took a tissue to wipe his hands, then gently touched Xu Juexi’s face reassuringly: “If I were an alpha, Xiaoxi would be in danger right now.”
Xu Juexi gave a soft “oh”. After all, he was not a native of this world, so he only had a vague understanding of things related to the second gender and didn’t care much about it.
He only knew that the person in front of him was different from the annoying Gu Zhifeng and wouldn’t do anything bad to him. He turned around and sat down with some reluctance.
Gu Fengying didn’t rush to drive. He tapped his fingertips on the steering wheel, seemingly deep in thought.
Xu Juexi: “Aren’t you leaving?”
Gu Fengying chuckled softly and rolled down the car window: “We’ll have to wait a bit.”
“The whole car smells of you now,” he said softly.
The car window with privacy shutters slowly rolled down. Gu Fengying turned his head and looked at a figure outside the car window that Xu Juexi couldn’t see from his angle. After a while, he curled his lips into a smile.
After a while, he rolled up the car window and said to Xu Juexi, “Let’s go.”
Xu Juexi only discovered missed calls on his phone when he returned to the Gu family home. He assumed it was his manager trying to cause him trouble, so he picked it up to take a look, only to find out it wasn’t.
It was an unknown number calling. Xu Juexi never answered calls from strangers, even after he had traveled through time. These pointless calls were nothing more than sales pitches or scams; there was no point in answering them, it was simply a waste of time.
But to my surprise, the phone rang again a while later.
This left Xu Juexi somewhat conflicted. He stared at the swipe options on his phone screen, hesitated for a long time, and realized he still didn’t really want to answer, so he tossed his phone onto the bedside table, out of sight, out of mind.
The call ended naturally, but it soon came back again. However, Xu Juexi had already put the matter out of his mind and turned to go to the bathroom to take a shower.
As he walked out of the bathroom, drying his hair, he heard a knock on the bedroom door.
His mind went on high alert, fearing that Gu Zhifeng, that lunatic, was going to harass him again. He became extremely vigilant, cautiously approached the door, checked the lock, and was thankful that he had locked it when he returned to his room.
Then, when the knocking sounded again, he cleared his throat, lowered his voice, and asked the person outside in what he thought was a very intimidating tone, “Who is it?”
The person at the door didn’t answer, but just kept knocking.
Xu Juexi thought for a moment. Given Gu Zhifeng’s low character, he couldn’t possibly have knocked on the door for so long. If it were him, his door would probably have been blown up long ago. So he hesitated and unlocked the door.
Before he could open the door, it was opened from the outside.
Xu Juexi was still holding onto the doorknob when he almost lost his balance and fell.
Who is it?
He looked up and met the gaze of the person who approached him. He had given up hope of ever finding someone who could not recognize faces, but he had learned his lesson and did not rush to call out to them, waiting for the other person to speak.
But the person didn’t speak. So the two of them just stared at each other until Xu Juexi couldn’t stand the awkwardness any longer: “Um…that…”
The man frowned slightly.
Xu Juexi immediately realized that the other person was unhappy with how he addressed him: “Husband.”
Unconsciously, Xu Juexi found that he had gotten used to calling him that title quite naturally.
”Okay,” the person on the other end replied.
Xu Juexi knew that no one could be unlucky forever.
But new problems soon followed. Xu Juexi didn’t know why the male lead suddenly wanted to find him. Had he discovered something?
Although he firmly believed that he was the most innocent victim, Xu Juexi still felt guilty.
Gu Xiaolin looked at him for a while, then said, “I thought you hadn’t come back.”
Xu Juexi: “Ah.”
He was a little confused by the other person’s thought process.
Gu Xiaolin: “How did you get back?”
Xu Juexi: “My second brother picked me up.”
”Gu Fengying?” Gu Xiaolin frowned again: “Why?”
”There’s no reason why,” Xu Juexi said. “He said he was coming to pick me up.”
Gu Xiaolin asked, “You’re my fiancée, why are you getting so close to them?”
Xu Juexi felt wronged. He wasn’t even that familiar with Gu Zhifeng and the others. It was just that these strange people liked to touch him inappropriately.
As he thought this, he also felt a little scared. Did Gu Xiaolin mean that he had discovered his entanglements with the second and third young masters?
“It wasn’t close at all.” Xu Juexi defended himself: “When I came back, I was sitting in the passenger seat, and there was at least a third of a meter between the driver and passenger seats.”
He deliberately included specific numbers when he spoke, because he had seen on some marketing account that such expressions would seem more credible.
However, it is clear that the marketing accounts are wrong.
Gu Xiaolin’s expression didn’t relax at all because of his words: “Why didn’t you answer my calls?”
”Ah, the phone?” Xu Juexi’s reaction took a while to realize that he had mistaken the calls for “harassment calls.” He felt a little guilty: “Oh… my phone… I didn’t see it.”
He wouldn’t even answer the protagonist’s calls; this cannon fodder seemed genuinely plotting a rebellion. Knowing he was in the wrong, he could only sincerely apologize in the face of the situation: “I’m sorry, honey. I’ll set a special ringtone for your number right away.”
He shuffled back to his room in his slippers to get his phone, quickly tapped a couple of times on it, then ran towards the man at the door to show him his edited version: “All done.”
He specifically emphasized, “I’ve saved your contact as ‘husband’.”
”Um.”
Gu Xiaolin didn’t seem to care what he had saved as a nickname.
Xu Juexi looked up at him eagerly, as if he wanted to get rid of this big shot: “Is there anything else?”
