This truly was an awkward scene. Ji Chen was already dead drunk, while the two Song brothers watched the two Fu brothers tugging and pulling at the exact same Omega.
Wen Yu’s waist was tightly wrapped in Fu Chen’s arm, while his other arm was firmly gripped by Shen Yuqing. Both Alphas were exerting silent pressure and wrestling against each other, making Wen Yu feel right now like a strip of shredded beef jerky.
“Let go of him,” Shen Yuqing repeated. Stripping away that warm, jade-like exterior, Shen Yuqing remained an Alpha at his core, carrying a natural innate bestiality in his genes. His eyes flashed with a cold glare as he locked horns with Fu Chen.
How could Fu Chen ever grant his wish? The moment Shen Yuqing’s voice fell, Fu Chen increased the strength in his grip, pinching Wen Yu’s waist and pulling him even tighter into his embrace.
“I am opening a room with my fiancé. What kind of thing do you think you are, telling me to let go of him?” Fu Chen raised his chin, a mocking smile hanging on his lips while his posture exuded supreme arrogance.
If it were any other time, Shen Yuqing might have maintained his rationality and negotiated terms with Fu Chen. But witnessing Wen Yu’s panic earlier when being harassed, along with Wen Yu’s words in the car about being scared, Shen Yuqing had no way to stand idly by and watch Fu Chen treat Wen Yu like this.
Shen Yuqing was no fool either. Although he did not know how Fu Chen had found out about his history with Wen Yu, he knew Fu Chen was doing it on purpose and had effortlessly made his plot succeed.
An uncontrollable anger continuously surged within Shen Yuqing’s heart. The sight of Fu Chen wrapping his arm around Wen Yu’s waist, making Wen Yu feed him wine, and leaning close to whisper in his ear made him burn with maddening jealousy.
What was he to prevent Fu Chen from opening a room with his fiancé?
His fiancé.
Wen Yu was his?
Shen Yuqing was stung by those words while simultaneously filled with unbearable resentment. How could Wen Yu possibly be Fu Chen’s? Wen Yu clearly belonged to him.
“Give him back to me,” Shen Yuqing stared straight at Fu Chen, exerting force with his hands to pull Wen Yu toward his own direction. It was just like a young child fighting over a beloved toy, throwing a childish, willful, and stubborn tantrum to tightly clutch onto the cherished plaything, even while knowing he no longer had the standing to possess it.
“Give him back to me.”
Seeing the rims of Shen Yuqing’s eyes turn red and his chest heave violently, Wen Yu felt an indescribable emotion stirring in his heart.
He suddenly recalled the day he had swallowed his pride to seek help from Shen Yuqing after Cheng Xiaoling’s illness was diagnosed. That day, dark clouds blanketed the entire city of A, brewing a violent storm, and Wen Yu had left home in too much of a rush, forgetting to bring an umbrella.
In truth, he had not even managed to lay eyes on Shen Yuqing that day before Shen Wanjun struck him across the face twice with slaps. Shen Wanjun had said back then: “An inferior Omega like you is not worthy of Yuqing. You had better abandon those improper thoughts. Lower-class people should have the self-awareness of lower-class people, and stop coveting things that do not belong to you.”
“I am not even mentioning your birth; you cannot even reproduce. Who would ever be willing to marry an Omega like you? Yuqing was foolish in the past, but he has sobered up now, and the two of you simply belong to two different worlds.”
“Yuqing is getting engaged soon, and if you ever dare to come looking for him again, I will not let you go!”
That truly had been an enormous storm. The sky looked as though it had been punctured by a hole, and rainwater poured down torrentially, stinging slightly when it hit the skin.
Wen Yu had walked along the roadside for a very long time, masochistically replaying Shen Wanjun’s words over and over in his mind. He also wanted to cry out: “Give him back to me,” and “Return Shen Wanjun to me.”
Yet he understood clearly that there was no future between him and Shen Yuqing.
Those beautiful aspirations that had once tumbled from Shen Wanjun’s lips were just like gorgeous bubbles, popped one by one.
He had squatted by the roadside, crying soundlessly. It was impossible to tell whether rainwater or tears made up more of his face, but either way, his entire countenance was drenched.
Shen Yuqing, I hate you.
Why did you have to treat me so cruelly when I liked you the most?
Wen Yu had sworn to himself back then that he would never like Shen Yuqing ever again.
Seeing Shen Yuqing in this state, Fu Chen felt a wave of exhilaration and was just about to spit out a few mocking remarks when Wen Yu suddenly shook off Shen Yuqing’s hand. Wrapping both arms around Fu Chen’s neck, Wen Yu buried his face tightly against his chest and muttered muffledly: “I am so sleepy. Let us leave quickly.”
Wen Yu could feel Fu Chen stiffen noticeably for a fraction of a second, but shortly afterward, Fu Chen scooped him up horizontally in his arms. With a light laugh, Fu Chen said: “He is tired. Brother Chengxu, we will head upstairs first.”
Fu Chen knew there were rooms available for resting on the top floor of the clubhouse.
Song Chengxu looked at Shen Yuqing, then back at Fu Chen, feeling utterly bewildered as he struggled to comprehend how this development had unfolded.
“Go ahead,” Song Chengxu told Fu Chen, casting one final glance at Shen Yuqing to find him frozen in place with a ghastly, wretched complexion.
“There are attendants outside who can lead you up,” Song Chengxu added.
“Thanks, brother.” Once he finished speaking, Fu Chen deliberately gave Wen Yu a gentle bounce in front of Shen Yuqing to resettle his grip, then strode away toward the exit. Wen Yu felt even lighter to carry than he looked, making Fu Chen feel the sharp edges of his bones.
Upon reaching the top-floor room, Fu Chen tossed Wen Yu directly onto the bed. Pressing down on top of Wen Yu, he began unbuttoning Wen Yu’s shirt in an unhurried manner, prompting Wen Yu to immediately grab his hand.
“What are you doing?” Wen Yu frowned as he looked at him. He had assumed Fu Chen merely wanted to anger Shen Yuqing and had no idea what Fu Chen’s intentions were.
“Shen Yuqing looked just like a stray dog a moment ago,” Fu Chen spoke with cheerful delight. “It seems you really matter quite a bit to him.”
“His birthday is coming up soon. Should I send him the video of us making love as a birthday present? I am sure he will be deeply moved.” With malicious intent, Fu Chen gripped both of Wen Yu’s hands in one hand and hoisted them above Wen Yu’s head. “Did you not want to continue the family line for the Fu family? I am giving you this chance.”
“No!” Hearing Fu Chen’s words, Wen Yu began to struggle, terror spilling out from his distinct black-and-white eyes. “No!”
An Omega’s strength was worlds apart from an Alpha’s. To Fu Chen, Wen Yu’s desperate, all-out struggles amounted to nothing more than a minor scuffle.
“Did you not say you hated me? Would sleeping with me not disgust you?” Wen Yu breathed heavily, attempting to awaken Fu Chen’s memories of disgust toward him.
“Playing the innocent act with me?” Fu Chen pinched Wen Yu’s chin, lifting his face upward. “Who said sleeping together always requires someone you like?”
“Did you not think of this day when you were seducing me?” Fu Chen’s expression darkened before he let out a cold chuckle. “Is this not what you wanted, or were you trying to save your chastity for Shen Yuqing?”
“Do not play the whore while trying to set up a monument for your virtue,” Fu Chen uttered coldly before beginning to rip at Wen Yu’s clothes. With his hands restrained, Wen Yu started kicking and thrashing wildly at Fu Chen with his legs.
“Fu Chen! Stop this!” Wen Yu’s eyes grew slightly damp. Unaware that his appearance only made him look even more alluring, Fu Chen swallowed hard as his Adam’s apple bobbed up and down, momentarily stunned.
“Stop this.”
Wen Yu’s voice gradually grew faint, seemingly realizing he had no way of dealing with Fu Chen. His resistance felt like a mere tickle to the Alpha, and moreover, even if Fu Chen truly did something to him today, given their relationship, no one else would say a word. Exhausted from struggling for so long, Wen Yu grew weary.
Despair gradually filled his heart, and the intensity of his struggles dwindled away.
It always seemed to be this way; from childhood onward, nothing was ever up to him. He could only be manipulated by others without the slightest capacity to fight back.
Was it his choice to be an illegitimate child? Was it his choice to be an inferior Omega? Did he seduce Shen Yuqing? Did he want to come to the Fu family?
He was constantly pushed along by fate, drifting toward wretched circumstances.
Wen Yu looked up to stare at Fu Chen. At a single glance, those clear, contrasting eyes were filled with withered, ashen despair, resembling a pool of stagnant water devoid of even a shred of vitality.
“If you must do it,” Wen Yu gave up his struggles, acknowledging reality as he turned his head to bury it sideways into the pillow, his voice choking slightly, “use protection.”
A single tear slipped from the corner of Wen Yu’s eye, landing on Fu Chen’s arm with a scalding warmth that caused his hand to twitch slightly.
Remaining silent, Fu Chen looked down from above at the Wen Yu beneath him. Wen Yu was weeping silently, his delicate face quickly covered in tears as he overlapped with a hazy visage from his memories.
That had been on a certain rainy night when Fu Chen was riding in the back seat of the driver’s car on his way home. Glancing casually out the window, he had caught sight of a thin, frail figure completely soaked through.
It remained unclear whether the moisture on that person’s face was rainwater or tears, but his complexion was pale yet stunningly gorgeous, possessing a breathtaking beauty that felt fragile and shattering all at once.
Advancing a few steps like a walking corpse, the individual had quickly squatted down, burying his head in his knees while letting the torrential downpour batter his slender frame.
He looked like a pitiful, brilliant yet ruined flower abandoned by the entire world.
Despite being a completely unrelated stranger, that scene had left a profound impression on Fu Chen. For the very first time, he experienced a sensation akin to being struck dumb by something breathtaking.
Now he finally understood why he had felt an indescribable sense of familiarity the very first time he laid eyes upon Wen Yu.
The person caught in that rainstorm days ago turned out to be none other than Wen Yu.
Fu Chen released Wen Yu’s hands and climbed off his body.
Wen Yu turned his head back to look at him, his tear-streaked face looking exceptionally pitiful.
“What are you crying for?” Standing by the bedside, Fu Chen lowered his gaze to look at Wen Yu, his tone surprisingly calm. “Sleep with me, as if you are worthy.”
“Get down and sleep on the couch.”
With that, Fu Chen walked into the bathroom, and the sound of a shower soon echoed from within.
Having experienced such violent emotional rollercoasters today, Wen Yu was utterly and completely exhausted. Lying on the bed, he felt a lingering sense of having escaped death by a hair’s breadth.
When Fu Chen emerged from the bathroom after showering, Wen Yu was already fast asleep on the couch. Because of his crying, his eyes looked somewhat swollen, and his damp eyelashes drooped over his lower eyelids, making the red mole on his eyelid stand out even more prominently.
Fu Chen pressed his finger against that red mole for a moment, silently gazing at Wen Yu’s serene sleeping face without uttering a word.
The person who had caused his heart to skip a beat for a fleeting moment happened to be none other than his destined mate. Fu Chen felt a sense of awe at the wondrous mysteries of fate.
“Wen Yu.” Fu Chen whispered the Omega’s name under his breath.
