By the time the old dean returned after tidying up the surgical instruments, Qin Guan was lying alone, strapped to the operating table, his eyes tightly shut, looking completely unconscious.
Lu Chuan stood in the corner with his arms crossed, leaning there quietly as if nothing had happened at all.
The old dean vaguely sensed that something between the two of them was off, but at this moment, the joy of soon obtaining a new body had already surpassed everything else.
He hummed a tune as he pushed a rattling cart of broken instruments along, clattering past. When he passed Lu Chuan, he kicked him as usual.
“You useless dead dog! Don’t you know you’re in the way!”
Lu Chuan lazily lifted his eyelids and glanced at him without saying a word, not showing the slightest intention of pulling back his long, impressive legs.
The old dean muttered a few more curses, but no matter how much he cursed or kicked, Lu Chuan stood there like a wooden post, showing no reaction at all.
With no other choice, he grudgingly detoured, taking a wide circle before finally reaching the operating table.
Qin Guan lay under the light with his eyes shut, his skin pale white, clean and beautiful like a marble statue.
The old dean’s gaze seemed glued to him, sweeping over him again and again from top to bottom, revealing a greedy expression.
“So good, so good… When I was young, I also had such fine looks…”
“Give me your skin, and I can be young again. I’ll become the greatest doctor of this century…”
He bent down as if possessed, his whole body almost pressed against Qin Guan, impossible to peel away.
The cold scalpel touched Qin Guan’s face, itching to move.
“This will hurt a little, but the dean believes you are a strong, good boy.”
His voice hissed like a snake flicking out its tongue.
Just as the blade cut across Qin Guan’s skin and was about to slice down…
The man who had been unconscious suddenly opened his eyes, his pale irises staring at him coldly.
“What are you waiting for?”
“What?”
The old dean froze, but he would never get another chance to think about anything else.
In the next moment, the old dean only felt a chill at his neck. Looking down, he saw his own headless corpse collapse softly to the floor.
His head flew lightly into the air, tracing a perfect parabola, kicking up a cloud of crimson blood mist like butterfly wings beating in flight.
Behind him, Lu Chuan stood there holding a chainsaw. The wildly spinning blade was still emitting a dissatisfied buzz.
Qin Guan frowned at him and repeated himself.
“What are you waiting for.”
Lu Chuan grinned, lifted a finger, and hooked the restraint strap, rubbing it back and forth over Qin Guan’s wrist, dragging things out and refusing to undo it.
“I got distracted looking at you.”
“You look really good like this.”
With a flick of his fingertip, that accursed strap was finally snapped.
In the next moment, a ruthless slap cut through the air, sending Lu Chuan’s head snapping to the side.
Qin Guan coldly flexed his wrist, shot Lu Chuan a glance, and unfastened the other ropes himself.
“Know your place.”
Still keeping his head turned, Lu Chuan used the tip of his tongue to wipe away a trace of blood at the corner of his mouth and let out a low laugh.
“Yes, Master.”
On the other side, the rolling head on the floor was not completely dead yet, still rolling about and shouting.
“Impossible! Who ordered you to do this… Y-you how could you break through my hypnosis restrictions!?”
Lu Chuan gave a cold laugh, turning his face little by little at a nearly impossible angle to look at the head rolling back and forth on the ground.
At this moment, his eyes were completely shrouded in a crimson glow. Combined with that face whose bone structure was sharp as a blade, yet whose brows and eyes were always soaked in a gloomy, vicious aura, he looked like a ferocious demon crawling straight out of hell.
“Rest assured, I have never forgotten the dean’s ‘kindness’ over all these years.”
“I originally planned to spend a lifetime slowly repaying it… But unfortunately, I’ve already found my beloved master, so I’m afraid we’ll have to make this quick.”
Vaguely, the dean seemed to sense something and backed away in terror.
“Lu Chuan, what are you doing!”
“Don’t believe that person’s nonsense. He’s lying to you. Just like the person who sent you here, they’re all lying to you!”
“How about this? Let’s make a deal.” He stammered.
“No matter… no matter what that person promised you, I’ll give you double! No, five times! Ten times!!!”
“You want to get out, don’t you? The dean knows you want to leave… As long as you kill this person, I’ll let you go!!”
As Lu Chuan stepped closer and closer, that head was eventually forced into a corner with nowhere left to retreat.
It pressed itself hard against the wall behind it, watching the figure dragging a chainsaw draw nearer, and gritted its teeth as it brought out its final trump card.
“I have a way for you to leave! Not just leave this instance, I know… I know how to leave the Filth Room!!”
The moment those words were spoken, even Qin Guan couldn’t help but turn to look this way.
Leave… the Filth Room?
Seeing that Lu Chuan’s pace did not slow at all, still striding straight toward that thing, Qin Guan’s heart tightened and he hurriedly tried to stop him.
“Wait!”
But on the other side, Lu Chuan was faster than him. He simply lifted that babbling head with one hand, swung his arm all the way back, and hurled it straight out of the operating room.
“Crash…”
The head smashed through the glass and flew diagonally out, rolling several times among the shattered fragments before barely coming to a stop, its face covered in blood.
“Gwack…?”
At the other end of the corridor, several nurses noticed the commotion and limped over.
After making out that the ball-like thing on the ground was actually the dean, they were first filled with terror, then exchanged glances, each of them somewhat hesitant.
“Gwack! Gwack!”
Among the zombies, the little nurse zombie with half an IV pole stuck in her head spoke first, her voice grief-stricken and shrill.
When the other nurse zombies heard it, they all chimed in one after another.
“Gwack! Gwack! Gwack!”
The sound grew louder and louder, drawing all the zombies on the entire floor over to this side. They swayed as they gathered together, repeatedly chanting the same word in a language only they could understand.
“Gwack! Gwack! Gwack!”
“You! What are you doing! I warn you…”
The head rolled away in terror, but it was already useless…
From the moment it was severed, the hypnosis ability he had relied on had completely failed. Only the regenerative ability inherited from Lu Chuan remained.
So now, what he had to face was an endless, bloody revenge launched by all those he had mutilated.
One person’s nails drove into the dean’s eye socket, while another tore open his scalp…
The dean let out a pig-slaughtering scream, but as his tongue was ripped out, he soon couldn’t make a sound at all.
Countless nurse zombies piled on top of him in layers, drowning him completely.
No one knew their stories. No one knew what they had endured under the dean’s hands.
But at least in this moment, with their enemy’s blood coating their hands, they were satisfied.
The entire psychiatric hospital began to tremble violently. Large sections of the walls peeled away. This place, piled up from countless resentments, was finally about to find its own peace.
Lu Chuan forced up his arm to block the falling light fixtures, then leaped to Qin Guan’s side and scooped him up in his arms.
A large hole had been shaken open in the floor in front of them, and below it was exactly where the death chute of the third basement level was located.
Amid the chaos, Qin Guan clung tightly to Lu Chuan’s shoulder and shouted into his ear.
“Why didn’t you let him finish…”
Lu Chuan took the chance to grab Qin Guan’s hand and practically pressed it against his own face, rubbing it against himself wantonly.
“How could I possibly let him tell you so easily…”
“Just you wait, my dear Master.”
“That will be the most precious gift I give you.”
Lu Chuan held Qin Guan tightly in his arms and leaped, plunging into that pitch-black hole.
