The testing officially commenced.

The atmosphere inside the gymnasium grew increasingly heavy as technical data began to populate the holographic screens.

In this world, magic had been thoroughly systematized and divided into several major categories.Full novel: Infinity Reincarnation — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Modern Magic was classified into four main systems, each containing two sub-types: Acceleration and Weight Type: Regulates the speed of movement and the mass of an object.

Movement and Oscillation/Vibration Type: Controls the trajectory of moving objects and phenomena such as sound or heat through molecular vibration.

Convergence and Dispersion Type: Concentrates or spreads energy and matter at a single point.

Absorption and Release Type: Regulates the process of absorbing or releasing energy from a target.

However, the classification of magic did not stop there: Non-Systematic Magic: Magic that does not involve direct Eidos manipulation through the four systems above.

Examples include Psion Control and Counter Magic.

Sensory Type Magic: Magic that enhances or grants additional sensory abilities, allowing users to perceive information invisible to the naked eye, such as detecting the presence of Eidos or Psions.

Outer-Systematic Magic: Magic that manipulates phenomena outside standard physical laws or acts directly on the soul and mind.

The most famous example is Mental Interference Magic, the specialty of the Yotsuba Clan.

Ancient Magic: Unlike modern magic which uses sequences, ancient magic relies on rituals, talismans, or other traditional methods.

It is often slower to activate but possesses effects that are difficult for modern magicians to predict.

The ten native students completed their tests, including Yuuta’s new acquaintance, Saegusa Kouichi, who showed exceptional results based on the impressed expressions of the examiners.

Now, only the thirty “fake” children remained—the Ascendants, clutching their CADs nervously.

The first Ascendant called forward was Nonoa.

With a light step and an unreadable smile, Nonoa approached the terminal.

She linked her CAD via a wireless connection.

As the system synchronized, the holographic screen immediately displayed a real-time graph of Psion fluctuations.

“Target detected.

Begin activation.” The system’s cold mechanical voice echoed.

Nonoa closed her eyes for a moment, sending a flow of Psions into the device in her hand.

The process felt as natural as breathing.

The bodies of the Ascendants had been modified by Infinity Reincarnation to fit the physiology of humans in this world; without a Magic Calculation Area in their brains, it would be impossible for a soul from another world to manifest magic.

*BUZZ!* In the blink of an eye, the multi-kilogram metal ball in front of Nonoa shot forward like a bullet, piercing the speed sensors with the booming sound of cloven air.

The screen displayed a time of 0.15 seconds—a very solid activation record for an elite student.

Nonoa proceeded with the other magic classifications.

The final result showed that her dominant affinities were Acceleration and Oscillation.

She walked back to Yuuta’s side with a beaming face.

“Well, Yuuta-kun?

Do you think the results are in the ‘good’ or ‘great’ category?” She asked playfully, nudging his arm.

Yuuta only spared a glance at the screen before looking back at the testing pillar.

“I don’t know.” “This test only determines our affinity toward standard Systematic Magic.

It just shows which type suits you best; it’s no guarantee of how strong or weak you’ll be on a future battlefield.” Knowing what the future held, Yuuta wasn’t speaking blindly.

There was a strong reason for his skepticism toward standard testing.

After all, he remembered clearly that the main protagonist of this world was considered “flawed” simply because he couldn’t perform systematic magic in the conventional way.

Yet, in reality, that man’s combat power was feared by enemies and allies alike—a true world-destroying force in human form.

(I want that kind of power too!) His eyes sparkled, radiating overflowing desire and ambition.

◆━⊰✿✧✿⊱━◆ The testing continued under Akira’s strict supervision.

Among the ranks of Ascendants, Yuuta only knew a handful.

He only paid attention to the results of those he recognized from his memories of anime in his previous life.

Their results began to appear one by one: Yukinoshita Yukino: Movement and Oscillation Type.

Zaimokuza Yoshiteru: Acceleration Type.

Maruyama Takeshi: Non-Systematic Magic (Counter Magic Type).

Furuhashi Fumino: Convergence Type and Outer-Systematic Magic (Mental Interference Type).

As for the other Ascendants?

Yuuta didn’t bother wasting energy remembering the information of those “Villager A” characters.

To him, they were merely extras in his life.

When his name was called, Yuuta stepped forward with calm confidence.

As he touched the terminal, he displayed his true talent as a Yotsuba.

Except for Ancient Magic, the holographic screen in front of him suddenly went wild.

Yuuta showed high affinity across all four main systems—covering all eight sub-types of Systematic Magic—as well as Outer-Systematic and Non-Systematic types.

Instantly, the atmosphere in the gymnasium shifted.

Akira and the school staff stared, unable to hide their shock.

If he simply had multiple affinities, their reaction might not have been this extreme.

After all, “all-rounder” Magicians weren’t unheard of, but they usually suffered from poor activation speeds because their talent was spread too thin.

However, Yuuta’s case was different.

His Psion count surged at an extraordinary level, far surpassing the average professional Magician.

He wasn’t just an all-rounder; he was a genius!

“Incredible…” Akira muttered, his eyes glued to the screen.

“Yotsuba Yuuta.

Your future is very bright.

As expected of the Yotsuba Clan…

each of you really is a different kind of monster compared to ordinary people.” Yuuta glanced at his teacher with a look of annoyance.

“It feels quite rude for a teacher to call his own student a monster, Kudou-sensei.” Akira flinched slightly, then gave a short chuckle to cover his awkwardness.

“My apologies, it was merely a metaphor to express my admiration.

Don’t take it seriously.” When Yuuta returned to the ranks, the other Ascendants couldn’t hide the envy radiating from their faces.

Through the previous conversations, they had realized just how prestigious the Yotsuba name was.

They began to feel that Infinity Reincarnation was acting deeply unfairly.

True, all their statuses in this world were orphans, but their backgrounds were vastly unequal.

Some were cared for by relatives, but most had to live in government-run dormitories under the guise of protecting “national assets.” Meanwhile, Yuuta stood there with the legacy of the strongest clan behind him.

Amidst the stares of hatred and envy, Yuuta simply stared straight ahead.

In this world broken by war, justice was a concept that had long since died—all that remained was power.
