Volume 1 Chapter 11: Transgression
Her calf felt a tingling numbness, inexplicably spasming as if scalded by the palm of his hand.
The corners of Ruan Yu’s eyes held a faint crimson hue, her fair earlobes flushed with a rosy tint. Her moist eyes and soft lips were pursed, her tongue peeking out, revealing a glistening dampness at the corner of her mouth.
Li Xuzhou realized he had overstepped. Remembering Doctor Li’s instructions, he lowered his eyelids and said, “Sorry, I overstepped.”
Beneath the table, his large hand couldn’t help but gently caress, savoring the memory of Ruan Yu’s tender skin. He couldn’t help but mock himself for trying to conceal his true feelings—his so-called self-control had completely crumbled the moment he touched Ruan Yu.
He repeated another “sorry,” fully aware that his actions had likely startled Ruan Yu. After a moment of silence, he stood up, walked around the table, and approached her. He removed his suit jacket and draped it over her legs.
The suit carried the scent of pinewood from his body, along with the lingering warmth from his back. Tailored to perfection, it was just Li Xuzhou’s size, but on Ruan Yu’s legs, it seemed slightly oversized.
The suit sleeves fell casually to the floor, but neither of them paid it any mind.
Li Xuzhou crouched down halfway, adjusting the position of the jacket. From behind, it looked as though he were kissing Ruan Yu. Their hands were close but not touching, the contrast between his bronze skin and her delicate paleness deepening the intensity in his gaze.
Though it was just a light grasp on her ankle, lasting no more than three seconds, it had set Ruan Yu’s heart racing uncontrollably.
The familiar scent and sense of security returned to her body, and Ruan Yu instinctively leaned closer to Li Xuzhou.
But the man retreated, maintaining a restrained distance.
As the warmth and scent faded, disappointment spread within her. Ruan Yu didn’t show it, only pursing her lips, making them appear even fuller.
I can’t look anymore, Li Xuzhou warned himself.
Loosening his tie, he was considering how to speak again when Father Li called him upstairs: “Xuzhou, come to the study.”
“Miss Ruan, I’ll take my leave now,” the man straightened up, his shadow enveloping Ruan Yu entirely. The intensity of his single eyelids and the shadows cast by his lashes made him appear even more aloof.
Yet, this version of him made Ruan Yu’s heart beat even more fiercely. A peculiar warmth spread across her forehead, and her entire body felt as if her blood were boiling.
So sexy…
Without thinking, Ruan Yu reached out and grasped the cuff of Li Xuzhou’s shirt. By the time she realized what she was doing, her fingers had already tightened around the pristine white fabric.
“Thank you for the jacket… I’ll go back to my room and change into pants. Thank you, Mr. Li.” She was wearing the dress Li Xuzhou had prepared for her, made of pure cotton, almost as if it were meant for a child.
“Alright,” Li Xuzhou took back the suit jacket without saying anything more. His demeanor remained cold, but upon closer inspection, one could notice the noticeable rise and fall of his chest.
He wasn’t as unaffected as he appeared on the surface. His heart beat uncontrollably, wildly, and the moment he felt his cuff being grasped, he had already imagined how he would kiss her ankle on the bed—just like three years ago, ensuring she felt no discomfort.
If Ruan Yu hadn’t spoken up to return the jacket, she might have already been pulled into his embrace, her neck held tightly as he kissed and sucked her fiercely.
What a shame.
His expression, as calm as still water, concealed the storm raging within him, fooling everyone.
Study.
“Dad, Mom,” Li Xuzhou sat down at the desk, noticing both his parents were present.
Mother’s expression was filled with concern. Father Li sat beside her, gently holding her hand to comfort her.
“We wanted to talk to you about Ruan Yu.”
“Ruan Yu being invited here was no coincidence. She has ulterior motives.”
