Su Mingyue sat in the courtyard with her chin propped in both hands. No matter how hard she thought about it, she could not figure out how she had ended up here.

She had clearly self-destructed together with the Zerg Queen, taking them both to their deaths. So how had she wound up in this place?

Even her mental power had fallen from its original 3S level to A-rank.Full novel: Interstellar Female General in the 1960s — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

It was like taking a giant dragon and turning it into a tiny earthworm.

“Sigh!”

Su Mingyue’s face was expressionless as she let out a long, melancholy sigh.

She had already been awake for two days, but the wound on her forehead, wrapped in bandages, still throbbed painfully.

With not a trace of emotion on her face, Su Mingyue raised her head and stared at the sky, feeling utterly speechless.

The place she had transmigrated to was China in ancient times.

This was the ninth year since the founding of the country—1958.

It was a backward and unusual era. Traveling meant walking, calling for someone meant shouting, and, even more frighteningly, this was an age when buying food required not only money but ration coupons.

But what was even more frightening was that the years 1959, 1960, and 1961 would later be collectively known as the Three Years of Famine.

There was no other reason for this designation except that many parts of China suffered various natural disasters during those three years, causing agricultural yields to fall. There were too many people and too little food, and the situation persisted for three years. Many people eventually starved to death.

Su Mingyue wasn’t particularly afraid of what lay ahead, because she had a spatial storage ability.

Inside her space were nutritional liquids in all sorts of flavors. One bottle could sustain her for three days without needing food or water.

The nutritional liquids alone would have been enough to last her several years, so she had never been worried.

Her space contained not only nutritional liquids, but also all kinds of treasures and weapons she had collected.

At the thought of this, Su Mingyue felt somewhat reassured.

She opened her space with her consciousness.

It was completely empty.

There was. Nothing. At. All.

Su Mingyue opened her eyes, then closed them again. She tried opening the space once more with her consciousness.

There was still nothing inside.

What was going on?

Where were the things in my space?

Where was my nutritional liquid?

Where were my treasures?

Where were my weapons?

There. Was. Nothing.

Su Mingyue carefully recalled the moment when she had perished together with the Zerg Queen. There had definitely still been things inside her space then.

Could it be that the self-destruction and the explosion caused by the Zerg Queen had blown everything in her space to pieces?

Other than that, Su Mingyue could think of no other explanation.

Because of the devastating loss of everything in her space, Su Mingyue somehow felt that her forehead hurt even more.

So she stopped sitting in the courtyard and returned to the original owner’s room, where she lay down on the bed.

Her thoughts inevitably returned to the moment she had first arrived in this world.

When she had first come here, the original owner had just suffered the devastating loss of both her parents. On top of that, excessive worry and grief had left her body extremely weak.

One day, while she was gathering firewood on the mountain, someone had pushed her down the slope.

By sheer bad luck, her head struck a rock.

Blood immediately began pouring from the wound, and the original owner lost consciousness.

Later, it was the original owner’s younger brother, seven-year-old Su Qingfeng, who realized that his sister had been gone for far too long.

He went to their uncle Su Heping’s house and asked him to help look for her.

Su Heping was the village production brigade leader.

When he heard his nephew say that his eldest niece had gone up the mountain and had not returned after such a long time, Su Heping immediately sensed that something was wrong.

He had seen with his own eyes how devastated his eldest niece had been these past few days after the death of her second uncle and aunt. He knew how heartbroken and distracted she had been.

Su Heping immediately called several villagers and went into the mountains together with them to search for the original owner.

In the end, they found her in a hollow between the mountains.

By then, the original owner was no longer breathing.

What had taken her place was Su Mingyue, the female warrior who had transmigrated here from the interstellar era.

Su Heping and the other villagers rescued Su Mingyue from the mountain hollow.

The original owner’s body had been immersed in extreme grief for several months, leaving both her mind and body utterly exhausted.

And the severe head injury, which had caused massive blood loss, had only made matters worse.

At the same time, Su Mingyue’s soul was slowly merging with the original owner’s body.

Therefore, by the time everyone successfully rescued her, she had already fallen into a deep coma.

Seeing this, Brigade Leader Su Heping was frantic with worry.

Without hesitation, he picked Su Mingyue up and ran toward the ox cart waiting at the village entrance.

He sprinted all the way there and soon reached the ox cart parked by the village entrance.

There, Old Madam Su was chatting with several elderly village women.

When she saw her own son carrying her little granddaughter and blood was still running from the girl’s head—she let out a loud wail.

“Ahhh! Mingyue! What happened? Heping, what happened to Mingyue’s head? Did she get into a fight with some boy from another family or something? How did she get such a huge gash? Which family’s boy is so wicked? How could he hit her on the head? My poor Mingyue!”

Su Heping carefully laid Su Mingyue down on the ox cart.

As he did so, he hurriedly explained to Old Madam Su what had happened.

He did not even have time to catch his breath before urging Uncle Su, who was driving the ox cart, to hurry as fast as possible and take them straight to the health clinic in town.

Along the way, the wheels rumbled over the road, kicking up clouds of dust.

Old Madam Su sat on the ox cart holding Su Mingyue’s head steady, preventing it from moving around in case the wound was rubbed against anything.

She stared at the injury and silently shed tears.

Su Heping followed alongside the ox cart, his eyes fixed anxiously on the unconscious Su Mingyue the entire time.

In his heart, he silently prayed that she would be safe.

It hadn’t been long since Second Uncle and his wife had passed away.

He truly did not want his sensible niece to follow them into the afterlife as well.

Finally, after hurrying all the way there, they arrived at the town health clinic.

The moment they entered, the doctor immediately sprang into action upon seeing Su Mingyue’s condition.

First, he placed her on a hospital bed and gently cleaned the blood from her forehead.

He then carefully disinfected the wound to prevent the injury from becoming infected and worsening.

Next, the doctor skillfully took some hemostatic powder and medicinal powder for treating wounds and evenly sprinkled them over the frightening wound on Su Mingyue’s forehead.

Finally, he carefully wrapped the wound with clean white bandages, working with both gentleness and steadiness.

As a precaution, the doctor also gave Su Mingyue two bottles of intravenous fluids to replenish the nutrients and water her body needed.

At last, the long infusion was over.

Old Madam Su and Su Heping had been guarding the bedside the entire time.

When they noticed Su Mingyue slowly waking up, they immediately called for the doctor.

The doctor hurried over and carefully examined her.

After confirming that Su Mingyue had regained consciousness and was mentally clear, he said that she could leave.

The doctor then gave the anxious Su Heping and Old Madam Su detailed instructions on how to care for the wound.

He especially emphasized that she might develop a fever during the night, and told Su Heping to keep a close eye on her.

After going through every precaution one by one, the doctor finally felt reassured and gave Su Heping permission to take Su Mingyue home.

Before they left, the doctor hurriedly took some medicinal powder, bandages, and fever-reducing medicine from the cabinet and handed them to Su Heping.

He patiently explained how each medicine should be used, including the proper dosage.
