The old lady slowly stood up, tidied things up a little, and then headed toward the old family home.

Zhou Hehua was also constantly busy in her daily life. Not only did she have to work in the fields, but once she returned home, she also had to take care of the chickens and fattened pigs they raised. On top of that, all the household chores, such as washing clothes and cleaning, also fell entirely on her shoulders.

The endless stream of work had left Zhou Hehua feeling somewhat dizzy and exhausted these past two days. Even so, she never complained in the slightest and continued silently taking care of everything in the household.Full novel: Interstellar Female General in the 1960s — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

It was because she felt sorry for the siblings, Su Mingyue and Su Qingfeng. Moreover, she had always had a very good relationship with Su Mingyue’s mother. Before either of them got married, they had been close friends from the same village.

Even after getting married, the two women remained extremely close. After Zhou Hehua married, she initially had a difficult time because Su Heping had not yet become the brigade leader. The wives of other families whose husbands were candidates for brigade leader often gave her a hard time, and it was Su Mingyue’s mother who helped her through those difficulties.

Therefore, Zhou Hehua was deeply grateful to Su Mingyue’s mother. Even though the two of them had been sisters-in-law for many years, they had never once had a serious quarrel. Another reason was that Zhou Hehua’s parents-in-law had always treated the two families fairly, so no resentment or estrangement ever developed between them.

On top of that, after so many years of living side by side, supporting one another, and sharing life’s ups and downs, the bond between Zhou Hehua and Mingyue’s mother had long since grown incredibly deep. They were as close as family.

Although they were not related by blood and were not biological sisters, the affection between them was even more genuine and profound than that between blood sisters.

When Mingyue’s mother passed away, Zhou Hehua felt as though someone had suddenly and brutally torn a huge piece out of her heart. The pain was simply impossible to describe.

Therefore, when she later saw Mingyue lying silently on the bed after being injured, her heart filled with endless love and pity for the child. And whenever she thought of the culprit who had caused Mingyue’s injuries, she became so furious that she gnashed her teeth.

That was precisely why, when Qingfeng had hurried to the old house to call for help, she had thrown herself into the fierce brawl with Wang Daqiang’s family without the slightest hesitation.

After all, if she hadn’t shared such a close relationship with Mingyue’s mother and couldn’t bear to see Mingyue suffer such hardship and torment, then given her usual personality, she would never have bothered with someone else’s affairs.

After all, even when her own sisters encountered trouble, she would normally choose to stand by coldly and not get involved.

That was simply the kind of family environment she had grown up in.

When she was a child, it was Mingyue’s mother who had stayed by her side and opened the door to her heart. She had never looked down on her, and whenever something happened, she would even stand up for her.

That was why she genuinely loved and cared for the siblings, Su Mingyue and Su Qingfeng. To her, they were like her own children.

So, during the several days that Grandma Su stayed at Su Mingyue’s home, even though Zhou Hehua was exhausted from being constantly busy, she still gritted her teeth and persevered.

In fact, she had originally hoped that she could personally take care of Su Mingyue. Unfortunately, in the end, she couldn’t persuade Grandma Su to change her mind. She could only watch as the old lady took on the responsibility of caring for Su Mingyue herself. Zhou Hehua could only occasionally bring Mingyue a meal or something similar.

After Grandma Su returned to the old house, she immediately became busy again.

Meanwhile, Su Mingyue and Su Qingfeng were sitting there staring at each other.

Su Qingfeng felt extremely uncomfortable under his older sister’s intense gaze, but Su Mingyue didn’t seem to notice his discomfort at all.

The more she looked at Su Qingfeng, the more fascinating she found him.

After all, children were extremely rare in the Interstellar Era, making them incredibly precious. She had never had the opportunity to observe a child so closely before. Whenever she had gotten anywhere near one, the child’s parents would immediately whisk them away.

She truly couldn’t understand what those parents were thinking.

She wasn’t a bad person!

Besides, all of those parents knew her!

What Su Mingyue didn’t know was that besides her title of War God General in the Interstellar Era, she had another name that was famous throughout the entire interstellar civilization:

The Child Killer!

The title “Child Killer” wasn’t given to her because Su Mingyue actually killed children. Rather, it meant that any child who spent some time with her would eventually undergo an astonishing transformation.

One by one, they all turned into super-freaks so terrifying that the entire Interstellar Era was shocked by them—and, in some cases, even afraid of them!

Take the child of one of Su Mingyue’s deputy generals, for example.

At the time, the deputy general had been seriously wounded and was unable to care for his young child, so the poor little fellow had temporarily been entrusted to Su Mingyue.

But who could have expected what happened next?

In just a short period of time, that originally obedient, adorable, and well-behaved child had completely changed!

Now, he was determined to become the greatest “Thieving Saint” in the entire Interstellar Era. Every day, he racked his brains trying to figure out how to steal other people’s treasures without anyone noticing.

And that child wasn’t the only one.

The other children who had once been under Su Mingyue’s care were equally astonishing.

Without exception, they had all become troublesome figures who gave the entire Interstellar Era a massive headache.

It was true that every one of those children was an extraordinarily gifted genius.

The problem was that none of them used their talents for anything remotely respectable!

For example, one child was exceptionally skilled at using poison and could practically be called a legendary “Divine Physician.”

The problem was that his ability to poison people was far greater than his ability to save them. He often made people fall victim to his schemes before they even realized what had happened.

Then there was another genius scientist.

That fellow spent all day thinking about how to give humans four arms and four legs!

Apparently, he had once happened to see a strange insect during a biology class. From that moment onward, he firmly believed that if humans could grow four arms and four legs like that insect, their efficiency at doing things would definitely increase dramatically!

One had to admit, that was quite an eccentric idea…

As for the others, it was better not to mention them.

Every single one was a complete oddball!

As for Su Qingfeng, no one could say what kind of person he would grow up to become in the future.

After Grandma Su finished tidying up the old house, it was already around noon.

She hurried back to Su Mingyue’s home, took out the chicken left over from the previous day, and continued stewing chicken soup for lunch. She also made some wheat-flour flatbreads.

Once again, it was a delicious and satisfying meal.

After lunch, Su Mingyue took an afternoon nap.

Su Qingfeng returned to the old house with Grandma Su. The old lady continued doing her chores there, while Su Qingfeng went off to play with his little friends.

After waking up, the very first thing Su Mingyue did was instinctively activate her mental power and “look” toward the courtyard.

Suddenly, Su Mingyue realized that her mental power seemed to have become somewhat stronger than before.

Although it was still at Grade A, her previous Grade A had felt more like an ordinary, flat A-level.

But now, it felt more like a fully fed A-level.

In other words, what people called A+ level.
