Wang Daqiang was one of them. That day, when he saw the original Su Mingyue heading toward the mountains all by herself, he secretly followed behind her and entered the mountain with her.

However, it wasn’t long before the sharp-eyed original Su Mingyue noticed that someone was following her. When she turned around, she discovered that it was none other than Wang Daqiang.

The original Su Mingyue didn’t pay much attention to him, assuming that Wang Daqiang had also come up the mountain to gather firewood. So she simply continued on her way, completely ignoring Wang Daqiang following behind her.Full novel: Interstellar Female General in the 1960s — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Seeing that the original Su Mingyue was paying him no attention, Wang Daqiang couldn’t help but feel annoyed. Unable to hold his temper any longer, he finally opened his mouth and began spewing a string of extremely unpleasant remarks.

Not only that, he even recklessly said, “Su Qingfeng is a jinx! That’s why your father and mother died. They were all killed by your little brother’s bad luck!”

Originally, Su Mingyue had no intention of bothering with an idiot like Wang Daqiang. But when she heard his words becoming more and more outrageous and unreasonable, especially that nonsense about Su Qingfeng being a jinx, the anger in her heart was instantly ignited.

She knew very well that if such vicious rumors spread, they would cause enormous harm to Su Qingfeng.

At that moment, the original Su Mingyue could no longer tolerate it. She only wanted to beat Wang Daqiang’s foul-mouthed face to a pulp.

She suddenly turned around, clenched both hands into fists, and assumed a stance as though she were ready to fight at any moment.

Wang Daqiang froze for a moment when he saw this. He then realized that the original Su Mingyue might actually be angry, and his body involuntarily trembled.

But then he realized that he had actually been frightened by that wretched girl, Su Mingyue, and embarrassment and anger surged through him. He deliberately stepped forward.

Provoking her, he said, “What? You want to hit me? Let me tell you, both your parents are dead now. There’s no one left to stand up for you.”

Before he could finish speaking, the original Su Mingyue’s figure flashed, and she pounced on Wang Daqiang like an agile leopard.

Although the original Su Mingyue looked delicate and frail on the outside, she actually possessed an astonishing amount of strength. Moreover, she had been a mischievous troublemaker since childhood and often got into fights with the boys in the village. Over the years, she had developed quite a few fighting skills.

Therefore, she gained the upper hand from the very beginning.

Faced with the original Su Mingyue’s fierce attacks, Wang Daqiang gradually found himself unable to defend against them.

Although he fought with all his strength and desperately tried to retaliate, the original Su Mingyue was simply too nimble. Every punch and kick landed squarely on his body.

In the end, after a fierce struggle, Wang Daqiang could only be beaten into a miserable defeat. Lying on the ground, he hurriedly said to the original Su Mingyue, “All right, stop hitting me! Stop! I admit defeat!”

So, after the original Su Mingyue had quickly knocked Wang Daqiang down without any surprise, she stopped when she heard him admit defeat and didn’t continue beating him.

As for Wang Daqiang, that boy was somewhat of a hothead and liked to put on a tough act. When he saw that the original Su Mingyue had beaten him down but then simply went on ahead to continue gathering firewood as though nothing had happened, he became furious.

He suddenly got to his feet, an impulsive urge surging into his mind as though he had completely lost his reason.

Without thinking, he thrust both hands forward with all his strength.

Caught completely off guard, the original Su Mingyue was violently shoved into a deep ravine ahead.

By sheer coincidence, her head struck a huge, incredibly hard rock in the ravine!

In an instant, blood poured from the wound, staining the earth around her red, and the original Su Mingyue passed out.

Wang Daqiang was terrified when he saw what had happened.

He stared blankly at the original Su Mingyue lying in the ravine, her head covered in blood, and his body began trembling uncontrollably.

Fear instantly consumed him. Without saying another word, he turned around and sprinted down the mountain.

It happened to be mealtime, and most of the villagers were at home eating, so Wang Daqiang ran all the way down the mountain without encountering anyone.

If someone had happened to pass by and witnessed Wang Daqiang’s panic-stricken, frantic appearance, they would undoubtedly have stopped him and asked what had happened.

Unfortunately, no one saw Wang Daqiang in such a state of terror.

Meanwhile, seven-year-old Su Qingfeng was waiting happily at home for his sister to return after gathering firewood.

But he waited and waited, and his sister never came back.

The young boy began to let his imagination run wild.

Could it be that his sister, just like his parents before her, had abandoned him and left?

The thought filled him with fear and unease, and he could no longer hold back his emotions.

“Waah!”

He burst into tears.

Tears streamed down his cheeks like a flood breaking through a dam. Sobbing as he went, he stumbled toward the old family home to seek help from his eldest uncle, uncle’s wife, and grandparents.

And so, a search for Su Mingyue began…

That was how Su Heping ended up taking people into the mountains to look for Su Mingyue.

Back to the present!

After Su Mingyue finished receiving the original owner’s memories, she soon fell asleep again.

Her soul had been depleted too severely, and sleeping allowed her to recuperate.

Breakfast was brought over by her eldest uncle’s wife, Zhou Hehua. She first woke Old Madam Su, then woke Su Mingyue as well.

After Su Mingyue finished eating, Zhou Hehua reapplied medicine to the wound on her forehead and replaced the bandages.

Once Zhou Hehua had finished everything, Su Mingyue lay back down on the bed and went back to sleep.

After Old Madam Su woke up, she took Su Qingfeng back to the old family home to eat.

After they finished their meal, she brought Su Qingfeng back to his own home. Seeing that Su Mingyue had fallen asleep again, Old Madam Su told Su Qingfeng to play in the courtyard while she went to the kang bed to catch up on some sleep herself.

It wasn’t until the afternoon that Su Mingyue finally woke up completely.

After such a long period of sleep, her previously exhausted soul had recovered considerably. From then on, she only needed to recuperate quietly.

When Su Mingyue woke up, Old Madam Su had already gotten up some time earlier. At that moment, she was sitting in the main room with Su Qingfeng, weaving straw rope.

Su Mingyue slowly sat up against the head of the bed.

She closed her eyes and began going through the original owner’s memories.

She reviewed each memory several times, determined to behave just like the original owner during this period and make sure no one noticed that she was no longer the same person.

Because only moments ago, she had discovered that her original combat abilities were gone.

Her mental strength had also dropped from an SSS level to an A level.

On top of that, her limbs were currently weak and powerless.

If people discovered that she wasn’t the original Su Mingyue and then mistook her for some kind of monster, they might deal with her themselves or hand her over to the government.

Either way, she imagined her ending would not be very pleasant.

By then, she wouldn’t even have the strength to escape.

So she couldn’t reveal herself.

For now, she had to keep a low profile and survive quietly.

Of course, she had no intention of pretending to be the original owner forever.

Her personality was obviously different from the original owner’s.

The original owner had been lively and cheerful, the sort of girl who could talk endlessly.

As for her, she preferred not to speak whenever possible and often wore an expressionless face.

Even though the original owner had become somewhat withdrawn after the blow of losing both her parents during this period, her personality was still different from hers.
