Interstellar Feng Shui Master 10 · Qiu Miao: General Gu, you have such a nice figure, meow~

“Gu Wenle?” Gu Wenye put on an innocent expression, ignoring Qiu Yanping’s question and instead asking back, “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing much,” Qiu Yanping squinted slightly, raising his hand to shield his face from the setting sun’s rays. He turned to Gu Wenye and said, “I just keep receiving his invitations from time to time. His persistence is getting rather annoying.”Full novel: Interstellar Feng Shui Master — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Gu Wenye was slightly taken aback and said, “Then why don’t you accept his invitation?”

Qiu Yanping clicked his tongue softly, “If I accepted everyone’s invitations, I’d be way too cheap.” He looked at Gu Wenye’s somewhat unnatural expression and suddenly smiled, “You and Gu Wenle have some kind of relationship, don’t you?”

“…Yes, he’s my younger brother.” Gu Wenye smiled without showing any embarrassment. “Actually, it’s because of me that he keeps bothering Mr. Qiu. I hope you can forgive him.”

Qiu Yanping knowingly glanced at Gu Wenye’s legs. “Your legs – the muscles and tendons have completely healed, but you still can’t stand up. This is indeed related to your mental strength. I’ll need to examine you properly later to know the specifics.”

Gu Wenye straightened up and leaned forward slightly. He was surprised that Qiu Yanping would voluntarily offer to examine his leg injury. His voice carried more excitement as he gripped the wheelchair armrests tighter, though despite his pleasant surprise, he maintained his composed and graceful demeanor. “Thank you, Mr. Qiu.”

—Could this be what they call… repressed passion?

Qiu Yanping looked at Gu Wenye’s posture and pulled the corners of his mouth into a smile that didn’t reach his eyes. “You’re welcome.”

Look, this was probably why he’d always been reluctant to deal with these aristocratic elite types. Even their joy and excitement had to be bottled up and hidden behind a mask of refined elegance, making them feel so inauthentic.

Gu Wenye had always been sensitive to others’ emotional changes. He sensed that Qiu Yanping’s mood wasn’t as pleasant as before, but couldn’t find the reason. Had he said or done something wrong? Gu Wenye frowned slightly and contemplated in silence. The two of them walked to the cafeteria without another word.

The cafeteria was huge, with eight long tables arranged neatly in rows. Each table was loaded with dozens of different dishes. The tables were about a meter and a half wide, and each student had their own small flying robot that could fetch whatever food they wanted.

When Qiu Yanping entered the cafeteria, he saw countless small flying robots buzzing around everywhere. He paused in slight surprise, and Gu Wenye noticed, smiling as he explained, “These are food-serving robots. The student cafeteria is a bit chaotic. You can come with me to the faculty dining hall.”

“Students and teachers eat separately?” Qiu Yanping raised an eyebrow.

Though Qiu Yanping’s question seemed simply curious, Gu Yanping still sensitively detected the mockery and faint disapproval in his eyes. He looked up at Qiu Yanping and met his gaze, saying, “When teachers are present, students tend to be more reserved and can’t relax while eating. It’s better to have a separate small dining hall.”

Qiu Yanping said “Oh” and looked away. He followed behind Gu Wenye, who led the way through a narrow forest path to the faculty dining hall.

“This little grove is quite dense,” Qiu Yanping remarked, examining the trees on both sides of the path, his tone ambiguous.

“This grove?” Gu Wenye heard Qiu Yanping suddenly mention something seemingly unrelated and glanced sideways, but didn’t notice anything about the small forest that would warrant Qiu Yanping’s special attention. He shook his head slightly, “This grove wasn’t here when I left school. I don’t know when it appeared. The dining hall is just ahead. Are you hungry, Mr. Qiu?” This chapter was taken from g.com without permission.

“Mm.” Qiu Yanping nodded, withdrawing his gaze. A white spherical light appeared at his fingertips hidden in his sleeves. When Gu Wenye wasn’t looking, it shot out and disappeared into the grove.

The white sphere acted like a third-person perspective, helping Qiu Yanping observe the entire forest’s condition.

The strange arrangement of trees in this grove caught Qiu Yanping’s attention. Locust trees and cedar trees were lined up on the left and right sides of the path respectively, with exactly 3.3 feet between each tree. Connected in a line, they resembled the yin and yang of the Eight Trigrams – locust trees being yin wood representing extreme yin, cedar trees being yang wood representing extreme yang. There was also this artificially carved forest path. Though autumn had barely begun, yellow leaves already covered the winding path completely. From above, the meandering route looked like a golden dragon lying on the ground.

Dragon Resting in Yin-Yang!

Qiu Yanping lowered his eyes. He didn’t believe such a layout could be coincidental.

Dragon Resting in Yin-Yang – a feng shui formation that gathers the Four Symbols and brings great fortune. The dragon’s head points directly to the Dragon’s Eye acupoint, the place with the best feng shui. However, this formation had deadly backlash. The yin-yang Eight Trigrams were actually used to trap a golden dragon with extremely positive energy. While the golden dragon resting here brought excellent feng shui, the trapped dragon harbored enormous resentment. Over time, this resentment would seep into the Dragon Resting in Yin-Yang formation, affecting the people and affairs around it – definitely not a good thing.

At the front left of the path was the dining hall. Qiu Yanping pointed to the end of the path and asked, “What’s that building over there?”

“Hmm?” Gu Wenye looked in the direction Qiu Yanping was pointing and replied, “That’s our faculty dormitory.”

“Oh…” Qiu Yanping responded. So the faculty dormitory was the greatest beneficiary of this Dragon Resting in Yin-Yang formation. In other words, the mastermind they were looking for might be among the teachers and staff of this interstellar combat academy.

The faculty dining hall was much smaller than the student cafeteria, with fewer dishes too. Qiu Yanping had expected the faculty food to be better, but it was actually worse than the students’. He looked somewhat surprised, and Gu Wenye laughed, “Are you regretting not going to the student cafeteria?”

Qiu Yanping chuckled, “Do I look that disappointed?”

“Mm, like someone who didn’t catch their prey.” Gu Wenye didn’t hold back, quite frankly describing Qiu Yanping’s expression.

Qiu Yanping: “…” It seemed his expression control needed improvement if Gu Wenye could see right through him.

After they finished eating, Qiu Yanping followed Gu Wenye back to his office to question the remaining half of the students. Although Qiu Yanping already had some leads, Gu Wenye’s interrogation still revealed quite a bit of information.

For instance, the instructor Wang Ge who taught today’s class seemed to be unpopular with students, mainly due to his overly strict and harsh nature. Students often played pranks on him after class, though these were usually harmless mischief that everyone knew to keep within bounds.

—Of course, today’s incident clearly exceeded all the students’ expectations. It had crossed the line, and in fact, Wang Ge had done nothing in class today to provoke student dissatisfaction. He was dragged into it purely because he tried to stop the students from fighting.

“Wang Ge is the most senior instructor at this interstellar combat academy. He was also one of my instructors back then.” On the way back to the dorms after questioning the students, Gu Wenye set his wheelchair’s route and crossed his arms over his chest, looking up at Qiu Yanping with curiosity and confusion. “Why did you suddenly ask about him, Mr. Qiu?”

“Well, he was the biggest victim in this incident. I’m naturally curious about his background,” Qiu Yanping smiled and deflected.

Gu Wenye didn’t seem suspicious of Qiu Yanping’s explanation. He made a sound of acknowledgment and continued thoughtfully, “But in my memory, although Wang Ge was somewhat hot-tempered during lectures, he wasn’t as harsh as he seems now. His whole demeanor has become extremely aggressive.”

Qiu Yanping raised an eyebrow. “Maybe something happened to him in the years after you left. After all, people’s personalities can change due to major upheavals. If his temperament changed drastically, there must be a reason.” New chapters come out on novelping.com first.

“Perhaps.” Gu Wenye nodded but didn’t intend to dig deeper into this topic. This was Wang Ge’s private matter, beyond the scope of what he should interfere with or investigate.

Qiu Yanping could see that Gu Wenye wanted to end this topic, so he didn’t pursue it further. Maybe Gu Wenye felt this was Wang Ge’s private affair and shouldn’t be interfered with, but for Qiu Yanping, Wang Ge was directly connected to this case. Wang Ge’s private experiences were no longer off-limits territory for him.

Qiu Yanping planned to investigate Wang Ge’s situation himself later, but before that, he had other things to do.

“This is your dormitory, Mr. Qiu. My room is right next door.” Gu Wenye led Qiu Yanping to the entrance of their dormitory building. The dormitory was designed with two units per floor, and Gu Wenye’s room was right across from Qiu Yanping’s. He stopped his wheelchair and smiled at Qiu Yanping, “If you need anything, you can come find me anytime. Well then, good night.” He politely nodded slightly to Qiu Yanping.

Qiu Yanping stood facing Gu Wenye, about half a meter apart. He paused slightly, then smiled just as artificially, putting on a polite appearance, “Good night.”

The distance between them was forcibly stretched again by Gu Wenye. Qiu Yanping felt extremely uncomfortable. He certainly wasn’t the overly familiar type either, but they had clearly been getting more familiar earlier, yet Gu Yanping’s polite, proper demeanor kept unconsciously pulling them apart again, as if they were complete strangers. After several times of this, Qiu Yanping felt bristled with discomfort.

His mental strength treatment was charged by the hour – he wouldn’t shamelessly volunteer to examine someone’s legs! He turned and entered his dormitory, slamming the door shut.

Gu Wenye touched his nose. He seemed to have upset Mr. Qiu again.

Gu Wenye returned to his own dormitory. Just as he’d taken off his shirt to wash up, the doorbell rang. He raised an eyebrow, casually grabbed an outer shirt to throw on without buttoning it, and wheeled over to open the door. “Mr. Qiu? What’s the matter?” He wasn’t surprised to see Qiu Yanping – at this hour, only Qiu Yanping would ring his doorbell.

Qiu Yanping saw Gu Wenye’s partially exposed chest and abdomen, coughed lightly, and realized he seemed to have interrupted at an awkward moment. He uncomfortably looked away and said, “Well, I came here on a whim and forgot to prepare clean clothes. I was wondering if you have any I could borrow?”

“We’re about the same build, so they should fit you. Please wait a moment.” Gu Wenye nodded understandingly and went into his room to get clothes for Qiu Yanping. As he turned around, the corner of his mouth curved into an inconspicuous smile. Mr. Qiu seemed quite easily embarrassed, not at all like the eccentric and arrogant person the outside world described him as.

Qiu Yanping watched Gu Wenye’s retreating figure, annoyed with himself for choosing such an inappropriate time to come over. Next time he knocked on doors at night, he’d definitely consult his divination first to make sure it was auspicious before going.

He was annoyed with himself, yet inappropriately found himself thinking about Gu Wenye’s half-exposed chest and abdomen. He unconsciously thought to himself that although Gu Wenye couldn’t walk with his lower body, his upper body was certainly in excellent shape.

Cough (:3ゝ∠)

Author’s Note: Cough, this chapter is really about the personality differences between Big Boss Gu and Qiu Miao, and how personality affects behavior and interactions (:3ゝ∠)

They’ll slowly adjust to each other, accommodate, and become familiar with each other (:3ゝ∠) [Don’t worry about the engagement mentioned in the synopsis! There will be an engagement! It’ll probably still follow the marriage-first-love-later rhythm?

PS: Qiu Miao is just someone who very frankly appreciates physical beauty, a genuine guy who doesn’t put on airs (:3ゝ∠)
