Interstellar Feng Shui Master 11 · Qiu Miao: Almost stood up Big Boss Gu (:3ゝ∠) [Incident]
Gu Wenye brought Qiu Yanping the clothes he needed to change into and said, “Will Mr. Qiu want breakfast tomorrow morning? You can eat at the cafeteria, but like tonight’s dinner, you’ll need a teacher to swipe their teacher ID to activate the food-serving robots for ordering.”
Qiu Yanping thought for a moment and said, “Then please trouble General Gu to call me tomorrow morning.”
“Alright, I’ll come call you at seven tomorrow morning, Mr. Qiu.” Gu Wenye said.
Qiu Yanping nodded, took the clothes from Gu Wenye’s hands, thanked him, and turned to enter his room.
Gu Wenye’s outer clothing was about the same size as what Qiu Yanping usually wore, but the underwear was just a tiny bit larger. Qiu Yanping unconsciously made a comparison in his mind, then his face darkened.
When he came out of the bathroom, he directly transformed into his cat form, swept past the borrowed clothes on the bed, leaped through the low window, and jumped out.
Under cover of darkness, Qiu Yanping smoothly made his way to the small grove they had passed through that evening. The autumn-tinged leaves, slightly yellowed, glowed with a thin layer of light under the moonlight. Qiu Yanping leaped onto a tree trunk and crouched on it, squinting his cat eyes. A white gleam flashed in his golden cat pupils.
Qiu Yanping spread his mental power over the entire grove. The locust and cedar trees were separated by yin and yang, distinct and clear. The faculty dining hall and student cafeteria were located at the front right and back left of the path respectively, corresponding to the two points of the yin-yang Eight Trigrams. Their positions were built with slight deviations, but it wasn’t a major issue. Qiu Yanping understood that on this planet, not many people understood feng shui and geomancy as well as those from his era, so the arrangement of the Eight Trigrams’ two poles wasn’t entirely accurate. He attributed this to the person behind it being less skilled.
Qiu Yanping concentrated his mental power and closed his eyes. Though his eyes were closed, his mind was bright and clear. The entire forest scenery slowly unfolded in his heart. He saw that the fallen leaves covering the forest path glowed with faint purple energy rising under the moonlight. But where the dragon’s head should be gathering vast amounts of fortune – the spot it directly faced – there was no energy at all. Looking around at the surroundings, the student dormitory buildings were all shrouded in very faint dark energy.
He suddenly opened his eyes. What he had seen with his mind’s eye corresponded to energy patterns. The Dragon Resting in Yin-Yang formation hadn’t worked as Qiu Yanping had expected, gathering excellent feng shui for the faculty dormitory that the dragon’s head faced. The true dragon’s purple energy rising from beneath the forest path seemed to gather and then disperse, never truly taking effect. Instead, the true dragon trapped here had its seething resentment clinging to the student dormitory buildings. This chapter is updated first at g.com.
Qiu Yanping silently left the grove. First, he went to the student dormitory building and placed a Five Emperors’ coin above the main entrance. Then he dipped his cat paw in cinnabar and drew a yellow talisman, pasting it in an inconspicuous groove. These items all came from his Merit Shop, which had been upgraded as his merit starlight accumulated, allowing him to exchange for these items that were usually stored in the Merit Shop and taken out when needed.
After placing the Five Emperors’ coin and drawing the yellow talisman to ward off evil and resentment, Qiu Yanping completed these tasks. The dark energy that had originally shrouded the student dormitory buildings gradually dispersed. Faintly, he could even hear extremely subtle dragon roars, filled with reluctance and unwillingness, yet helplessness.
Qiu Yanping padded with small steps toward the faculty dormitory building in an unhurried manner. Although he hadn’t yet figured out who the mastermind was, resolving the student riots was easy work for him. Qiu Yanping returned to his dormitory unnoticed, buried his head to groom his disheveled fur, hiding his achievements and fame.
Early the next morning, Gu Wenye came to knock on Qiu Yanping’s door. Qiu Yanping opened his cat eyes filled with morning grumpiness, licked his paw in dissatisfaction, then leaped up from the bed and ran to the door. In the blink of an eye, he transformed into human form, threw on his coat, opened the door just a crack, and peered out with half his head, gripping the door. “What’s up?”
Gu Wenye saw Qiu Yanping’s disheveled hair and was slightly stunned, then quickly realized the other person might not be fully awake yet. He said somewhat apologetically, “Mr. Qiu mentioned wanting breakfast earlier…”
Qiu Yanping looked up at the electronic clock display hanging on the ceiling. He had overslept and stood up Gu Wenye. Qiu Yanping scratched his hair twice and said quickly, “Give me a few minutes.” After saying this, he shut the door with a bang, then rushed back to the bedroom like a whirlwind, put on the clothes Gu Wenye had prepared for him, dashed into the washroom for a quick wash, ran his fingers through his hair twice, and finally stood in front of the full-length mirror in the entrance hall to look himself up and down in Gu Wenye’s outfit.
He had to admit that Gu Wenye had good taste in clothing. Clothes make the man – with a different style of dress, Qiu Yanping indeed looked quite elite.
It was just that the somewhat fitted and restrictive shirt and suit jacket were rather inconvenient for movement.
Qiu Yanping pursed his lips, then opened the door and said to Gu Wenye, who was still waiting quietly outside, “Sorry for the wait. Let’s go.”
Gu Wenye smiled, rolling his wheelchair down the gentle slope while saying, “I didn’t wait long. Those clothes suit you very well.”
Although he had just looked in the mirror before coming out, hearing Gu Wenye’s compliment still made Qiu Yanping instinctively look down at himself, then grin and accept the praise. “They’re nice. I didn’t expect our sizes to be so similar. It’s just that these clothes are a bit restrictive and inconvenient for movement.”
Gu Wenye laughed. “Does Mr. Qiu want to show off some moves and spar at the academy?” You are reading on novelping.com, the official source.
Qiu Yanping was at a loss for words. This person really wasn’t good at conversation.
“Let’s go eat breakfast.” Qiu Yanping bypassed Gu Wenye’s teasing, letting out a soft snort through his nose. “I’m hungry.”
In the cafeteria, they encountered Wang Ge, who looked like he hadn’t slept well all night. He seemed somewhat listless, with blue stubble on his face and slightly drooping eye bags.
“Wang Ge.” Gu Wenye greeted him first. He frowned and rolled his wheelchair over to Wang Ge. “You don’t look well. You shouldn’t teach class today.”
“I’m fine.” Wang Ge waved his hand dismissively. He bent slightly to swipe his teacher card, activating a food-serving robot, and said, “I just didn’t sleep well. There’s no need to take leave. General Gu, I’ll go eat first.” He gestured and was about to leave.
Qiu Yanping suddenly spoke up. “Instructor Wang, it looks like you have two bruises on your neck? Should you see a doctor?”
Wang Ge touched the area Qiu Yanping mentioned and said casually, “It’s probably from those three brats yesterday. It’s nothing serious.” He waved his hand and found a table to sit down and eat.
Gu Wenye looked at Qiu Yanping with some doubt and uncertainty. “The bruises on Wang Ge’s neck… don’t look like marks left by mecha. Mecha marks are large blocky areas. These two bruises are separated, with only about a centimeter between them. They look more like…”
“Two human fingers.” Qiu Yanping finished Gu Wenye’s sentence, looking at him with an appreciative smile and nodding slightly. He held up his own fingers and gestured at the same position on his neck. “About like this?”
Gu Wenye’s expression changed, and he nodded with an ugly look on his face.
