Vashi thought it over for a while before finally agreeing with Yan Zhou’s suggestion.

“Alright, we’ll do it your way.”

Ke Yunyao looked at one person, then another, and suddenly said, “Actually, if we can find more materials, I can make more flying boards.”Full novel: Interstellar: The Mech Designer Is a Bit [Socially Anxious] — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The flying boards she made weren’t as fully featured as the ones sold on the market. They could only fly. Once bound with spiritual energy, they could be controlled freely, but any other functions were basically nonexistent.

Still, for the purposes of the exam, they greatly increased mobility, giving their team an advantage that other teams didn’t have.

Vashi fell silent for a second.

“Then let’s do this. While we’re searching for star beasts tomorrow, we’ll also keep an eye out for mineral resources.”

Everyone agreed.

Yan Chixi had already made up her mind.

Tomorrow, she absolutely had to find some ore.

If you could fly on a flying board, who would want to run?

Once everyone on their team had one, would any other team even be able to catch up to them during the final day’s point-grabbing competition?

Just thinking about it was exciting.

The next day, after eating well and getting a good night’s rest, they set off in search of high-level star beasts.

Yan Zhou and the other combat specialists ran around the flying-board-riding Vashi and the others in a protective formation. At the same time, Vashi released his spiritual energy to search for targets.

Their luck was good.

They hadn’t gone very far before encountering a herd of star beasts.

It was a group of Azure Rhinobulls.

Among them were three SS-rank beasts, seven or eight S-rank beasts, and numerous others of varying levels.

Yet not a single member of the team showed any sign of retreating.

If anything, they were excited.

They were eager to test their new weapons in real combat.

“Those up ahead are Azure Rhinobulls,” Jiang Tian quickly explained. “Their hides are extremely tough. Their weak point is their eyes. Aim for the eyes whenever possible.”

Vashi immediately issued orders.

“Yan Zhou, Yang Qi, Yan Chixi—you three handle the SS-rank ones. Everyone else pair up and take out the S-rank beasts first.”

“Yes!”

The three combat specialists immediately charged into the herd and engaged the three SS-rank Azure Rhinobulls, deliberately drawing them away from the main battlefield.

That left the primary combat zone to everyone else.

Wang Yelin, Jiang Tian, and Duan Yang rushed forward as well, intercepting the rhinobulls and shielding the ranged fighters behind them.

The massive Azure Rhinobulls looked at the tiny humans before them and became enraged, immediately charging.

But Jiang Tian and Duan Yang were standing on flying boards and were incredibly agile. They effortlessly dodged aside.

Wang Yelin, however, was a completely different story.

This madman didn’t dodge at all.

He threw a punch directly at the charging beast.

He simply wanted to test his weapon.

And what a test it was.

His punch generated a half-meter shockwave. He noticed a flash of light from the gauntlet the instant it connected.

The next moment, the Azure Rhinobull was blasted backward.

It convulsed once for reasons nobody understood.

Then it never got back up.

That had been an S-rank Azure Rhinobull.

And he had knocked it down with a single punch.

Even Wang Yelin stared at his own fist in disbelief.

Did I really do that?

“Move!”

Duan Yang grabbed him by the collar and lifted him into the air.

Just as they left the spot, another rhinobull crashed through where he had been standing.

Wang Yelin immediately snapped back to reality.

He knew he’d made a mistake just now.

But the priority was dealing with the herd.

“Duan Yang, put me down.”

“Fine, but stop zoning out.”

“I know! Just put me down already!”

Wang Yelin could barely contain his excitement.

He desperately wanted to test the gauntlets again.

Duan Yang dropped him at the edge of the battlefield before charging back into the fight.

If he didn’t hurry, the others would kill all the star beasts before he got a chance.

While Duan Yang had been pulling Wang Yelin away, Vashi had already begun the ranged assault with Ke Yunyao and Meng Lingling.

The three of them stood on flying boards and moved with incredible flexibility.

They would fire a shot from one direction to attract a rhinobull’s attention, then immediately fly elsewhere and attack again.

Even more remarkable were Ke Yunyao’s energy guns.

They didn’t fire a single energy bolt at a time.

One trigger pull unleashed several shots simultaneously.

Not only that, the projectiles emitted a faint green glow.

Every time she fired, an Azure Rhinobull would mysteriously collapse.

The entire herd descended into chaos.

Markaro’s cannon was even more terrifying.

One blast wiped out groups of weaker beasts.

Large numbers of the rhinobulls’ descendants disappeared in an instant.

The battle exploded into full force.

This herd had no chance of escape.

Vashi had absolutely no intention of letting them get away.

Once the battle was nearing its conclusion, he took Ke Yunyao and Meng Lingling to the perimeter and began sniping.

Any rhinobull that attempted to flee was immediately shot down.

Within the herd, Wang Yelin finally managed to steal the kill on an S-rank rhinobull from Jiang Tian and Duan Yang.

By the time he finished it off, all the remaining S-rank beasts had already been eliminated by those two.

The surviving rhinobulls were completely routed.

They scattered in small groups, desperately trying to escape.

Meanwhile, Yan Zhou and the others were handling the SS-rank beasts fairly well.

It wasn’t particularly difficult.

Yan Zhou continuously targeted his opponent’s eyes.

The rhinobull knew to protect its weakness and repeatedly dodged.

Enraged, it opened its mouth, trying to bite the annoying human.

Yan Zhou immediately thrust his sword into its mouth.

When he withdrew the blade, he expected the beast to continue fighting.

Instead, its legs suddenly staggered.

Seizing the opportunity, Yan Zhou drove his sword straight into its eye.

“ROAR!”

The beast’s roar became its final cry.

With a loud crash, it collapsed.

Yan Zhou froze briefly.

That’s it?

It’s dead already?

On Yang Qi’s side, he continuously smashed his hammer against his opponent.

The rhinobull responded by charging headfirst.

After all, it believed its skull was its strongest weapon.

Unfortunately, it was facing a modified hammer.

The hammer suddenly sprouted spikes.

The spikes pierced directly into the rhinobull’s eye.

The beast screamed in agony.

But blindness alone wasn’t enough to kill it.

Before it could recover, Yang Qi slammed it several more times.

The rhinobull completely lost the ability to resist.

It collapsed.

Its skull had been battered into a sieve.

Yan Chixi had a slightly harder time.

Her twin blades weren’t ideal against such heavily armored prey.

Fortunately, her mastery of the weapons was extraordinary.

She switched attacks fluidly and continuously harassed the rhinobull, frustrating it to no end.

The enraged beast roared repeatedly.

Yan Chixi seized the opening.

One blade stabbed into its body.

The other slashed toward its neck.

Using the opportunity, she vaulted onto its back.

The rhinobull sensed the human on top of it and began bucking wildly.

Yan Chixi remained perfectly stable.

When the beast raised its head to roar again, she thrust a blade directly into its eye.

The next second, she launched herself off its back and landed at a distance.

She then overlapped the two curved blades in her hands.

With a flick of her wrists, she sent them flying like concealed weapons.

The blades flew over the rhinobull’s head.

Then they curved around.

On the return flight, they passed straight through the center of its skull.

The twin blades returned to her hands.

She casually flicked them.

The last traces of blood flew away.

The final SS-rank Azure Rhinobull collapsed to the ground.
