Todd flew toward downtown at high speed, the wind whipping around him.
Mid-flight, he quickly changed into his suit.
He wiped the remaining blood from his face and slicked his hair back as best he could while soaring.
But even as he focused on his path, his mind was wandering, turning over the facts again and again.
He did not know exactly which universe this was, but one thing was certain, it was definitely not the main timeline he remembered.
The clues were impossible to ignore.
First, this world was a strange crossover, woven together from at least three different realities he recognized… and likely more he hadn’t discovered yet.
Second, the timeline itself was all jumbled.
The Guardians had just been reported dead this morning, Omni-Man was supposedly still recovering, yet here came the Flaxans again for their third invasion.
Things were moving faster than they should.
And lastly…
Todd descended and slowed to a stop above the chaotic battlefield.
Portals were torn open across downtown, spilling out Flaxan soldiers and heavy war machines.
The Teen Team was already engaged, but one figure immediately stood out.
Invincible who had a…
cape.
His costume closely resembled the mainstream version Todd remembered, but with a striking black and blue color scheme.
A large blue cape flowed behind him as he fought, paired with full-fingered blue gloves and black visors integrated into his mask.
He looked more imposing as he punched straight through a Flaxan soldier’s chest, ribs shattering and purple blood exploding outward in a wet spray.
Todd dropped down into the fray.
He immediately targeted the advanced tanks emitting slowdown fields.
He smashed through the first one like a missile, his fist punching clean through the armored hull and ripping out the pilot inside.
The Flaxan screamed briefly before Todd crushed his head in his grip, brains and dark blood squirting between his fingers.
He tore through two more tanks in rapid succession, leaving mangled metal and crushed alien corpses in his wake.
“I’m just crashing,” Todd replied evenly as he landed nearby.
“Wasn’t exactly invited.”
“Hey, would you two quit chatting and actually help?!” Rex Splode shouted from the ground, currently tangled in an energy net.
Todd gave a small nod to Invincible and moved.
The two of them fell into a natural rhythm almost immediately, Invincible drawing attention with raw power while Todd struck from angles with speed and precision.
He wasn’t holding back.
Every Flaxan he reached died quickly, crushed skulls, clean laser cuts, or devastating punches that sent bodies flying.
A Flaxan soldier raised his rifle.
Todd grabbed the alien’s head with both hands and twisted violently.
The neck snapped with a wet crunch, and blood sprayed across his suit.
He hurled the corpse into a group of advancing troops, knocking them down, then stomped on one’s chest, caving in the ribcage with a sickening crack as purple blood bubbled from the alien’s mouth.
The Flaxans adapted fast.
They deployed new plasma shields that flared to life when Todd tried to use his heat vision, scattering the beams.
Specialized emitters also projected fields that attempted to weigh him down and slow his flight.
Todd adapted right back.
He used the tall buildings as cover, darting between them to break line of sight before striking from blind spots.
He’d appear suddenly behind a tank column, tear through the armor, and disappear again.
Eventually, he broke through into the heart of the invading force.
A massive mechanized battle suit stepped forward, far larger and more heavily armored than the rest.
Inside the cockpit, a Flaxan officer glared at him with burning hatred.
“You are finally here!” the alien roared through external speakers.
“I am Vexar, son of General Krixor, the commander you murdered in cold blood! I am here to avenge him!”
Todd hovered in front of the mech, sizing it up.
A small, confident smile crossed his face.
“Oh? So you’re his son,” he said calmly.
Vexar lunged, the massive mechanical fist rocketing toward Todd.
BANG!!
Todd caught it with one hand, the impact creating a shockwave that cracked nearby windows.
His grip tightened.
Metal groaned, then crumpled as he crushed the fist.
Before Vexar could react, Todd drove his other fist deep into the mech’s stomach plating, denting it inward.
He grabbed the machine’s head, slammed it down onto his rising knee with brutal force, then hurled the entire suit skyward with all his strength.
Todd shot up after it, interlocked both hands above his head, and brought them down like a hammer in a devastating overhead strike.
BOOOOM!!
The mech crashed into the street with catastrophic force.
The cockpit shattered completely.
Vexar’s mangled body was half-crushed inside the wreckage, blood and broken limbs spilling out.
Todd hovered above the ruined machine for a moment, then swept his gaze across the remaining Flaxan forces.
His eyes glowed bright red as he unleashed sustained heat vision, carving burning lines through their ranks.
Soldiers screamed as their bodies were sliced apart or set ablaze, limbs and torsos falling separately onto the blood-soaked pavement.
With their commander dead, panic took over.
The Flaxans broke and fled back toward the open portals in a desperate rout.
Todd continued slicing them with precise, merciless laser beams until the last stragglers disappeared.
The portals finally snapped shut.
Todd hovered in place, staring at the empty sky where the portals had been, a faint smirk tugging at his mouth.
He did not follow them.
He did not chase them back to their home world like Omni‑Man had done in the series.
He was not foolish enough to believe he could wipe out such an advanced civilization alone.
If he pushed them that far, their greatest scientists would surely develop specific countermeasures, weapons capable of actually killing him long before he could fully conquer or lay waste to their planet.
He wasn’t so full of himself that he would throw his life away for empty glory.
Even Omni‑Man had taken years to finally bring them low… and there were still survivors left, waiting for their chance to strike again.
