Kevin and Mia quietly stepped out of the store with Mia carrying a shopping bag in hand, a light smile on her face.
” I can’t believe it took so long to make.” Kevin groaned.
He was always used to everything around him happening quickly, so something like this was a first for him.
” Hey, don’t complain, at least we’re finally out.” Mia chuckled.
Hearing her, Kevin shook his head lightly.
” So how do you like the suit?
Best gift ever?”
” I wouldn’t know until I’ve tested it out first, now would I?” She said with a cheeky grin.
” True, but maybe work on your flying first, we wouldn’t want you ruining the suit before taking down your first Villian.” He said.
” You talk like you’ve got that much experience already, aren’t you just a rookie as well.”
” Hey, I’ve taken down my share of bad guys.” Kevin turned his head and said.
” Sure you have, probably some robbers and J walkers.” Mia giggled.
” Hey, that’s not funny.” Kevin pursed his lips.
” I’d like to see you give it a try.”
Ring~ Ring~ Ring~
Kevin raised a brow and took his phone out of his pocket when it started ringing.
” Who’s that?” Mia asked.
” I think it’s for you.” Kevin said with a grin.
” What are you talking about.” Mia asked, her face confused.
” You were talking smack about my saves right?
Well it’s your turn to save the day.” He said before showing her his phone.
On it was a notification of a streamer coming online.
Kevin clicked on it, his screen shifting to a stream where a female streamer on a street was zooming in to stream what looked like a robotic man surrounded by cops, with one of his hands seemingly charging up.
” Looks like there’s someone causing trouble, the perfect chance for you to prove me wrong.”
” W-What are you talking about, I haven’t even gotten a hang of my powers yet.” She retorted.
” Oh?
Is someone too chicken to back up her words?” Kevin snickered.
” Oh hardy har har, we both know this is different, people could actually get hurt here.” Mia rolled her eyes.
” Which is why I never intended to leave you alone in the first place.” Kevin said before looking back at the live stream.
Right now the streamer was hiding behind a trash can before getting up again and zooming in on the assailant.
” From what I can tell, that guys only weapon is that arm cannon of his.
You don’t need to do anything flashy, just tackle him down and knock him out.
If possible, take care of that arm of his.”
” I’ll keep the civilians away from you so you don’t accidentally hurt someone, alright?”
” A-Alright…
But what if that thing hits me?”
” I’m sure you can tank it.” Kevin sneered and patted her on the shoulder, earning him a glare from her but she quickly calmed down.
” You’re using the watch?” Mia said.
” Yeah?
Why?” He raised a brow.
” Doesn’t it always end up giving you something else instead?” She said.
” How did you…”
” I mean, this afternoon, you looked a bit unhappy after turning into that speed demon so I just figured.”
” You’re more perceptive than I realised…”
” Is that supposed to be a compliment?” Mia’s eye twitched at his remark.
” You don’t have to worry about that, I think I figured out why that is.”
‘ When I chased after earlier, the watch actually gave me heat blast like I wanted, which I was honestly shocked happened.’
‘ After giving it some thought in the workshop, I think if I just pressed the watch instead of hitting it so hard, I should be able to get the alien I want.’ Kevin said before his face turned firm.
‘ Well, here’s hoping it’s true.’ he gritted his teeth and pressed down.
A green flash of light surrounded him before vanishing just as quickly.
” IT WORKED!!!” Kevin leaped up with joy when he saw that he really did turn into accelerate.
‘ You weren’t even sure to begin with?’ Mia stared at him, feeling a bit annoyed, but she let out a helpless breath the next moment.
” Well.” Kevin said before picking her up in a blur.
” You ready to go?” He said with a grin as his visors came down.
” First I need to change.” She reminded him.
” Oh, yeah, of course, I almost forgot.” Kevin smiled sheeplessly.

” You guys gonna stop that annoying gag or not.” Killcannon said while the cops constantly fired bullets at him.
” Well two can play it that way.” He gritted his teeth and aimed his cannon arm at the cops, the mouth gradually glowing redder and redder.
” Take cover!” One of the cops yelled.
At the same time, some people watching from a distance all began running for cover.
WHOOSH!
At that moment, a blur ran past the fleeing people and cops before stopping Infront of Killcannon.
” What in the–” killcannon paused for a moment when he saw a weird alien standing in front of him with a superhero in its arms.
BAM!!!
Mia landed a clean hit on his face without a word, sending him flying.
Kevin then dropped Mia on her feet.
” Like we discussed, alright.”
” Just leave him to me.” Mia slammed her fist and palm together a smirk on her face.
She’d never let loose before, this was just what she needed to whittle off her excess stress.
” And try not to destroy much of everything else in the process.” He said.
” Fine Fine, now can I please smash something.” She groaned.
Kevin held back his laughter and nodded before speeding off.
” AHH–”
” HOW–”
” HUH–?”
He quickly got to work, carrying people then speeding far away to drop them before coming back for the rest.
” Umm ma’am, I’m here to take you to safety.” Kevin stopped Infront of a young lady hiding in a dumpster.
” Omg, you’re that new hero aren’t you, metamorpho was it?” The young woman looked at him with shimmering eyes.
” I’m a big fan, I’m even one of the members of your fanclub!” She took out an ID from her pocket and showed him.
‘ Wait?
I have a fan club?’ he wondered, surprised his image had spread so quickly.
” I’m still working on a name.” Kevin laughed a bit.
” But let’s get you out of there first and on to a safer place.”
” Alright.” The girl said before climbing out of the dumpster and into Kevin’s arms.
‘ Urrgh’
‘ Yeah…
Definitely going to need to wash up after this.’ Kevin closed his mouth before his visor fell down.
” So cool!” The girl squeeled.
” Alright, be sure to hang on tight.” Kevin said before turning into a blur as he speed off.

” NOOOOO!!!” Killcannon screamed as Mia ripped off his cannon.
” Do you have any idea how hard it was to get that!” He glared at her.
” Nope, and I don’t think I care.” She said flatly before smashing it on his head.
” GUARH!”
The ground him cracked a bit from the force, his body finally unconscious.
WHOOSH!
Kevin appeared in a blur.
” I see you’re already done.”
” Was there even a doubt, this guy was a bit weak–”
” Urrgh….
What the heck happened to you, you smell like you had a fight with a dumpster.
” Mia gagged.
” I don’t want to talk about it…” Kevin gave her an unhappy stare.
” Come let’s go before I timeout.”
” Uhh no, not with you smelling like Davy Jones lost sock.” Mia said.
” We need to hose you down first.”
Hearing her, Kevin’s expression only got moodier.
