Kevin drove along the road with William and Mia in his car, both sitting in the back.
” You two seem to be close, are you an item perhaps?” Kevin couldn’t help but joke when he saw the both of them whispering back and forth behind him through the rearview mirror.
” I doubt any girl could hold this one down.” Mia giggled a bit.
” Hey what’s that supposed to mean?” William pouted.
Kevin laughed a bit as well.
Seeing the both of them laughing, William couldn’t help but feel even more irritated for some reason.
” Come to think of it, how’d the both of you meet anyway.” William suddenly asked.
” Pardon?” Kevin replied.
” I mean, besides me, I never thought this hermit could make any new friends–” William joked only to pause mid way when she glared at him.
” You looking for a beating…” Mia said with a forced smile.
” Hehehe…
Of course not.” Recalling what happened to Todd, he quickly surrendered.
” I was just curious is all.”
Kevin held his chin, a pondering look on his face.
“Well, I wouldn’t say it was anything special.
She just looked like she needed help, so I offered.
I guess things just kind of…
ended up like this.” He said.
Mia turned her gaze towards the window as though the conversation had nothing to do with her.
“She can be pretty stubborn sometimes,” Kevin chuckled.
“Gets angry a little too easily too, but once you get past all that, she’s actually a pretty nice person.” But after hearing this, a light smile couldn’t help emerging at the edge of her lips.
William who happened to see this, widened his eyes for a moment.
Then an idea came to his mind.
” Come to think of it, I do know the Grayson’s a bit, If you’re interested i could introduce you some time.”
” WILLIAM!
What’s that supposed to mean.”
” What, I was just helping him out.” He smiled nervously.
” We both know you’d never invite him over anyway.
So what’s the big deal.”
” And who told you he wanted that sort of help?!” She grabbed him by his shirt and shook him a bit.
” Ok ok, I’m sorry.” William tried his best not to feel dizzy but with her still unstable strength it was proving difficult.
‘ So she really is invincible?’ Kevin on the other hand had something else going through his mind.
He’d already began to suspect this the moment he dropped her off at school and even when he saw her chocking the life out of Todd, but he just couldn’t believe it then since Invincible was supposed to be a guy after all.
‘ Wait…
Doesn’t that mean I live right next door to–’ Kevin’s face paled a bit as his breathing grew rough, without him realising it, the wheel steered in another direction.
HONK!!!
” GUAH!” Fortunately, the horn from the car he almost hit drew him out of his trance before he steered the car back into place.
” Hey!
Are you okay?!” Mia leaned into the front and ask.
” Sorry about that, I was just thinking about something for a moment there.”
” Huh?
Is it something urgent, do you need to go right now?” William asked.
” No no no, it’s nothing you need to worry about.” He said.
” You can sit down now, I promise everything’s fine.” He turned to Mia and said.
Her brows were still furrowed with skepticism but after a moment of silence.
” Alright…
If you say so.” She sat back down.

Along the way during the drive, Kevin made a stop at the mall with them, after what happened earlier, he felt like he ruined the mood so he wanted to fix it.
After buying William the phone he promised, he had both of them pick something’s.
Mia naturally refused, saying she was fine with a snack, but William ended up buying a few more stuff for himself.
After dropping him off, Kevin changed directions in order to drop her off at her part time work.
” Thanks for that.” She said.
Right now she was sitting in the passengers seat next to him.
” Thanks for what?” Kevin replied.
” For treating him like that, I’m the one who broke his phone after all.
You didn’t really have to do all that.” She said while glancing ahead.
” And why do you think that is?” He replied with a light smile on his face.
” Huh?” She became confused, turning to stare at him.
” If anyone’s to blame, it’s mostly me, after all, I was the one who gave them what they used to start that troublesome spark in the first place.”
Hearing him, Mia turned silent for a moment.
” Don’t beat yourself up over it.
I enjoyed every second of it, plus it felt good watching you scare that guy back at your school.”
” And who said I was?” She scoffed.
Looking out the window.
” I just don’t want you thinking I owe you one because of this.”
” Tempting, but I think I’d prefer it if you were less secretive instead.” Kevin chuckled.
” You didn’t strike me for one with superpowers.”
” No…
I messed up on that one.” She mumbled beneath her breath, after all, who would believe someone her size could pull of something like that.
Maybe her fellow high schoolers would attribute it to something else or brush it off, but for him to do the same was a long shot.
” Yeah you kinda did.” Kevin smiled helplessly.
” You did the same thing the first time you met me, and now at your own school, If I didn’t know any better, I’d believe you wanted to reveal it to the whole world.”
” It’s not my fault that everyone keeps trying to piss me off.” She huffed.
” Please promise me you won’t tell anyone.” She turned towards him.
” My Dad might loose it if he knew my powers got out.”
” My lips were already sealed.” He smiled.
” Of course I wouldn’t, I was just taken aback is all.”
‘ Plus I’m not interested in pissing your Dad off right now.
The man scares me much already.’ Kevin felt a chill down his back just thinking of what a pissed Omni-Man would do to him.
” If you’re so worried about your powers being known, why not ask your dad to help teach you how to control them.”
‘ Come to think of it, shouldn’t that have already happened by now?’ he thought to himself.
” I know it sounds a bit off, but I don’t really want my dad knowing I have superpowers, well…
Not now at least.” She said, mumuring the last part beneath her breath.
The car turned silent.
Kevin stared at his watch for a moment before glancing at Mia who was staring at her hands nervously for the first time.
” It seems like you really want to impress him huh.”
” What?” She said yet still stiffened a bit.
” No need to explain it to me.” Kevin said.
” If it’s ok with you, how about I teach you how to control them instead.”
” Huh?
How’s that going to work?” She asked, raising a brow.
” With this.” He raised his left wrist, showing her the Omnitrix.
” I always wondered why you wore that weird thing, wait, that’s not important, what exactly is that supposed to be anyway.”
” Depends, I need you to meet me tomorrow after school.”
” So you’ll continue to drop me off and take me back home?” She turned towards him and asked.
” If you’re ok with it, with what happened at your–”
” I’m fine with it.” She cut him off.
” Oh…” Kevin blinked his eyes a bit.
” Well ok.”
