” Well you look like you’re in a good mood today, did something nice happen after I left you two together yesterday?” William snickered as he snuck up on Mia who was at her locker.
” Oh, it’s just you William.” Mia let out a breath, unclenching her fist.
Lucky him, she realised it was him and not someone else, if not she would’ve sent him flying.
” Also, Would you cut that out, nothing happened between us yesterday.” Mia rolled her eyes at him before putting her books in her locker.
They both then headed towards the cafeteria where they found a table to sit at.
After what happened yesterday, while there were still some who would look in their direction as they walked by, at least now none of them dared to murmur or say anything.
” Did you happen to see the news yesterday.”
” Why’d you ask?” Mia raised a brow.
” Remember that viral video I showed you a few days back about that super dog thing.”
” ….Yeah?”
” Well now, another strange hero appeared.” William said, taking out her phone to show her.
On the screen played a scene where a crystal-like man was fighting a villain on the streets.
” See there.” William paused the video and zoomed in.
‘ Wait, isn’t that?’ Mia’s eyes widened a bit because what William zoomed in on was like some kind of metal badge with an insignia she remembered clearly.
‘ ….That’s the same one that was on his watch.” She realised.
” That’s the same thing that was on the super dog from a few days ago, not only that, in the past few days, there’s been constant sightings of strange looking heroes like this with the same badge design.”
” Right now, some people are beginning to wonder whether there’s some new super hero team on the rise, but you wanna know what I think?”
” Umm…
I guess?” She said.
” I think they’re all the same person.” William said.
” I mean, if you look at all the videos they all have one thing in common, they seem to be moving the same way and acting exactly the same.”
” Whoever this new hero is, it’s clear they don’t exactly have a lot of experience.”
Hearing his words, Mia almost spat out her chocolate milk.
” Huh?

” ….Yeah, I just ate too quickly.
My bad.” She waved her hand dismissively.
Nevertheless, she was still surprised inwardly that he was able to come to that conclusion.
‘ I only managed to put the pieces together myself last night after he showed me the watch.’ Mia was impressed William was able to come to the same conclusion without a hint from Kevin himself.
” Umm…
Mia?” William suddenly spoke up.
” Yeah?
What?” She asked.
” Do you have another friend I don’t know about?” He asked, raising a brow.

” Then why does Eve keep looking over here.”
” What?” Mia turned her head around to look in Williams direction.
True to his words, Eve who was eating at another table with some other students suddenly looked away the moment she looked in her direction.
Mia furrowed her brows before slowly getting up.
” …Mia, what are you trying to do.”
” Just wait here for me.” Mia said before leaving.

Can we help you?” One of the girls at Eve’s table asked when they saw Mia standing over them.
” Mind telling me what your problem is…” Mia said in an unhappy tone.
” Excuse me?” The girl said.
” Not you idiot, I’m talking to her.” She gestured at Eve who sat on the other side of the table, facing her, with her gaze.
” Yes, you.” Mia repeated.
” Is it so much to ask for a moment of peace and quiet without any of you trying to ruin it.”
” Listen here–” the girl Mia ignored spoke up.
” It’s alright, let me handle this.” But Eve politely cut her off before shifting her focus to Mia.
” If it’s ok with you, could we please talk somewhere else?” Eve suggested.
Mia frowned for a moment, before nodding.
She didn’t know what this girl was planning, but if it meant she could resolve it without issues, she was more than happy to comply.
After all, the last thing she wanted was for another incident like yesterday to happen.
Mia and Eve left the cafeteria before stopping within the school hallway, since it was lunchtime right now, people were rarely seen In it, which gave them a certain level of privacy.
” I’m really sorry if I caused any misunderstanding.” Eve started by apologising, which surprised Mia a bit, nevertheless, she was still curious.
Mostly because of the strange device she saw which she couldn’t see through no matter how much she tried.
” I was only wondering just how to talk to you, but your reputation isn’t exactly peachy so I was worried at first.”

Even turned silent for a moment before taking a breath and letting it out.
” You have superpowers don’t you?”
” W-What?” Mia stiffened, her muscles unconsciously tightening.
” I’m sorry but is this some kind of joke, because I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Having learned from William, Mia instinctively denied the claim.
Eve smiled awkwardly.
” There’s no use denying it, after what you did yesterday, plus your friend coming to school yesterday, I kinda figured it out.”
” What do you mean my friend.”
” The guy with the weird watch of course, the new heroes…
I mean, the hero that everyone’s been talking about.”
” Others might think it’s an antique but my eyes can see a bit more than normal people.” Eve said.
” You might want to warn him to keep that thing hidden.”
” Why are you telling me all of this?” Mia asked with a troubled look.
” Well because I have powers as well.” Eve said, ” I’m Atom Eve.”
Mia raised a brow.
” And why are you telling me this?

Hearing her words, Eve couldn’t help but laugh a bit.
” If only, people don’t exactly expect a super hero to be sitting right next to them in class, plus, We might not know each other much but I know you’re not that kind of person.” Eve smirked.
” Now you can at least trust me since we both have something to lose now don’t we.”
Mia simply turned silent, not saying a thing as if pondering her words.
To her, it sounded more like she was interested in Kevin or at least that watch of his.

” You’re back and it looks like you brought some company?” William raised his brows seeing Mia returning to their table with Eve.
” Hey there.” Eve waved a hi to William, smiling as she sat down at her table.
” Don’t ask me…
It just happened.” Mia said, her tone sounded like she couldn’t bother to explain.
William and Eve introduced themselves to each other and surprisingly began conversing with Eve.
Mia acted like she couldn’t care less, enjoying her lunch and sipping from her chocolate milk, nevertheless, her eyes never left Eve.
A troublesome feeling bubbling within her.
