-Rose Fannett-
The guild was surprisingly empty, and the few workers she crossed turned their gaze away as she sent them a nasty glare.
It was ideal… to sneak some particular people in.
Rose would have considered it almost comical how a pissed-off Senior guild worker and the presence of a Level Five Adventurer were more than enough for people to divert their attention from the towering ‘’woman’’ that they had barely managed to get a cloak for to hide her particular attributes.
The wolf-hume clutched her temple tightly. No matter how much she massaged it or how many deep breaths she took, the problem was still the same, resting right behind the door in front of her.
‘’If it’s any help…’’ The voice of the Amazon at her side made Rose’s head turn. Tiona Hyryute, a prominent Executive from the Loki Familia, scratched the back of her head. ‘’They’re not bad people. Insufferable, yes. A danger to the public’s mental and possibly physical health? Sure, but...’’
Rose chuckled drily. ‘’And is this Tiona Hyryute speaking, or Representative of the Loki Familia speaking?’’
The girl winced, opening her mouth yet shutting it closed a second later.
‘’Thought so.’’ She huffed. ‘’Good as they may be… That is a monster. Even through whatever strange process that idiot did. A monster is a monster.’’
Much to Rose’s surprise, the words seemed to make the Amazon bitter. Her fists were shaking, and Rose’s hair stood on end. She was under no illusion that she could defy the Amazon in any physical way if the woman decided to lunge at her.
Thankfully, it didn’t come to pass. Tiona sighed and locked eyes with her. The hopeful glow in the green orbs made an uncomfortable feeling rise to her chest.
‘’Just judge them fairly.’’ The Amazon said.
Rose pursed her lips. Crusher maintained her stare.
‘Just what sort of impression did Roy, of all people, leave in this brat for her to defend his Familia so?’
She was the first to break the staredown with a non-committal hum before opening the door with a creak and stepping inside. That is all the Amazon was getting out of her.
Rose, much as she hated her job, had a responsibility to the people. And no matter how ‘’innocent’’ a Monster may look, they were still hate-filled creatures that despised both deities and mortals alike—
‘’How many unique Monsters can spawn from floor one to six?’’ Roy asked with a cocky grin, leaning against the table.
‘’Why, five, obviously!’’ The gigantic Jack Bird turned woman answered, puffing up her chest. The cloak used to disguise her feathery arms lay discarded on the floor.
Roy deadpanned. ‘’It’s six. Forgot to count yourself, birdbrain.’’
‘’Gah!’’
‘’How big is Orario, birdy?’’ Midna asked from her place floating in the air.
The feathered woman regained some composure, trying to hide her previous failure behind fake confidence. ‘’Dodo knows. She knows, knows! Three thousand square kilometers!’’
Everyone else in the room blinked and turned to each other. The tall woman tilted her head with a smile, quickly and confusedly looking at everyone’s faces to see if she got her answer right.
‘’…I just asked to fuck with her, not gonna lie.’’ Midna chuckled.
The bird woman deflated. The GoddessHestia sheepishly drew circles on her lower back.
The entire damn scene was ridiculous, and that was without counting the pale, unexpressive woman clinging to Roy’s back like she was attached to him… because she literally was!
‘Nonsense on top of nonsense…’ Rose pinched the bridge of her nose, releasing a deep huff that seemed to bring everyone in the room out of their current daydream.
She silently sat in front of them all. There was a sense of nervousness pooling in her stomach. Rose had gotten used to the presence of Deities and Adventurers alike, but Monsters? Sentient ones? No.
It didn’t help that ‘’Label’’ was currently staring right at her, unblinking. It made her skin crawl, but she was no damn newbie to awful sensations.
Before she could open her mouth, Roy’s eyes found her. She tensed, still unaware of what to feel about the man besides a general sense of constant annoyance and elevated blood pressure.
‘’Sup, Rosi—‘’
‘’Cut the bullshit, Raynolds.’’ Rose interrupted. The mood in the room tensed, and she could smell nervousness coming from the Familia’s Captain… but not anyone else. ‘’You know why you’re all here. I don’t even know why I sneaked you in—‘’
‘’Because you love us.’’ Midna cut her off.
‘’Zip it.’’ She growled, but the action only made the Pallum cackle. ‘’I don’t even know where to start… except that I do. You’re housing Monsters on the damn surface! I know you were a stupid bastard, Roy Raynolds, but not to this extent!’’
The words earned her animosity almost immediately. Specifically, the shadow-thing, crept up Roy’s shoulder, and her stare got all the more menacing. As if to contrast, the giant feathered woman frowned… or tried to, but it looked more like a childish pout.
‘’You’ve only grasped the surface, my dear.’’ Yet, no matter, the man kept fucking with her. The grin on his face unwavering. ‘’You never really know a man until you help him bury a body… or he invites you to drink beer on a random workday. Whatever happens first.’’
‘’Do you think this is a joke?’’ Rose sneered, wood creaking underneath her grip. ‘’You know the dangers that Monsters pose to the people, to even freaks like you and every other Adventurer that goes down to that death hole! You cannot expect me to play blind after witnessing that!’’
‘’I… I know it's not common.’’ Rose turned her head to the Familia Captain. The girl who an hour ago took down a giant Silverback now stared at her with shaky, yet determined resolve. ‘’It’s related to Roy’s Skill, you know that he can tame Monsters. There’s no ‘danger’ to speak of, because he can control them!’’
Rose frowned. ‘’And what reassurance do we have of that?’’
Bell paused. ‘’What?’’
‘’The Ganesha Familia had been in this business long before Monsterphilia was even a thing. The control over monsters given by the Monster Tamer Skill is not an irrefutable truth.’’ Rose explained. ‘’Or did we not see the same Monsterphilia today, you and I? What if one day, that thing over his shoulder attacks a child? As Familia Captain, will you sit right in front of me and tell me ‘he has them under control’?’’
The bunny-hume flinched, yet remained silent. Rose did not mean to come out as harsh, but if it was the only way to open these brats’ eyes, then she had no other choice.
Rose got some satisfaction as Roy’s smile finally dropped. Yet, the ominousness of his serious expression made her stand tenser than the glaring shadow ever could.
Yet, it wasn’t him or the Pallum who tried to argue with her. Instead, Rose’s body felt heavy, and her heart skipped a beat as the presence of a raging fire settled in the room.
The presence of a Goddess.
‘’I politely ask that you refrain from talking to my children in such a way.’’ Hestia stared straight at her, tone unshakable, and those azure eyes… it was like they were on fire. ‘’They may have lied to you, but they are still my dear children, and as such, my responsibility.’’
‘’Goddess Hestia… With all due respect, you more than anyone should know the dangers that the monsters pose to everyone.’’ Rose tried pressing on, leaning forward into her chair. ‘’I do not promote Adventuring. In fact, I hate it… But even I have to admit, without Adventurers and the Gods giving their blessing to them, Monsters would roam free. Hell, TwoCalamities would still roam the world!’’
For just a second, Rose saw the deity tense. The mention of those creatures would put even the most hardened soldier on edge.
People liked to title what they didn’t understand, what surpassed them so far in strength that it felt unnatural. Just as Adventurers got titles that represented their strength, so did the nightmares of the world have their own.
But these nightmares… they too were monsters, and like any monster, they brought destruction and death.
‘’You are right… in some things, that is.’’ Hestia sighed. Rose almost felt relief. Almost. ‘’But you’re also wrong. I ask you, Rose Fannett, if you were to spend time with one of these Monsters, enough for you to trust them, would that change your mind?’’
Rose frowned. What sort of question was that? She would never willingly do something like befriending a Monster, much less put her trust in one.
‘’Of course not.’’ And she communicated as much.
…
Snort.
Rose blinked, then slowly turned her head to the side. Roy had his eyes closed, lips twitching until they settled into a thin smile that seemed ready to burst into laughter.
Bell Cranel scratched the back of her head, ears flat against her skull. For whatever reason, she was starting to feel mocked, even by the harmless-looking bunny-hume.
Then her eyes landed on Midna, the Pallum girl who was floating in the air, resting on it… with shaking shoulders and a giant smirk.
A smirk that, Rose noted, always had particularly sharp teeth. Not to mention, under her cloak, Rose could see the shifting patterns of black and pale-white skin.
And her lone, red eye that glowed for just a second as it settled on her.
Realization hit her like a hammer to the head. The usual annoyance and anger vanished from her body, replaced by slack-jawed surprise.
‘’Midna, the Pallum you have been advising along my child Roy… In reality, she too is a Monster.’’ Hestia crossed her arms beneath her bust, tone happy, as if declaring victory. ‘’So, I ask you again, would you change your mind if you came to trust a Monster?’’
Her mouth clicked shut. Rose… didn’t know what to say. The strange Pallum… was a Monster? But how?! She had seen her Status. She archived the papers in the Guild records—
‘The smudge marks.’ Rose’s eyes widened. ‘Those marks I crossed off as inexperience… they were the work of a forgery? Rose, you’re a damn moron!’
The moment her eyes found Roy’s. He seemed to notice her realization, but merely shrugged. ‘’Not the first time I made illegal documents. I just had Hestia’s help to make it look legit.’’
Her head hit the wood with a groan. She didn’t even bother looking at the two—three. At the three Monsters in the room. That Jack Bird was merely looking in silence with a big, confused smile that spoke of her ineptitude to understand what was going on, and ‘’Label’’ was much like a clingy cat on his owner’s lap.
‘’Oh man… Her darn face, hoomie! Wolfie looks smacked stupid!’’
…And she ignored Midna, because she’s Midna.
But… she couldn’t bring herself to deny the truth. She didn’t trust Midna to follow a law even if her life was on the line… but she did so when she and Roy went down to the Dungeon. So, in a sense, the Goddess's words rang true.
But…
‘’Even if I don’t say anything…’’ Rose grunted, looking up. Her expression was a tired mess that just wanted to go home and sleep. ‘’It would just take one mistake. One stupid little time that you would slip, and you will, Roy, because you’re an idiot—‘’
‘’Rude.’’ He huffed.
‘’—And now you have the entire population panicking.’’ Rose explained. ‘’You would need the backing of very important people. Like, the Guild, and both Freya and Loki for all I know!’’
Suddenly, the room felt cold. Rose’s ears and tail spiked upwards. Both Bell and the living shadow in the room noticed instantly, too.
And it wasn’t until her eyes settled on the left corner that she understood why. There stood a dark ghost without a face, causing her breath to hitch. It moved slowly and unimpeded, its robes flowing as if there was a breeze.
‘’One believes that’s where their presence is required, Guild Advisor Rose.’’ It spoke, yet the voice was indistinguishable between male and female.
Rose had once or twice before heard rumors about a ‘’ghost’’ roaming the Guild. Obviously, she did what any other thinking person would do and dismissed it as a bored worker’s tale, or maybe a prank.
But this presence… it was very much real, bringing caution and silence to everyone in the room.
‘’Is the Guild built on top of some Indian cemetery, or why do you have ghosts?’’ Roy asked. ‘’Do we have to Luigi Mansion this shit?’’
The hooded figure turned to the man. ‘’This one is merely a fool, sometimes a messenger, and today a collaborator.’’ It explained… nothing, really. ‘’But you may call me Fels. It’s intriguing to meet you, Roy Raynolds.’’
‘’Understandable. I would be nervous meeting someone as kick-ass as myself.’’ The man nodded sagely.
The not-Pallum floating on top of him chuckled. ‘’Who the fuck says kick-ass, you unc?’’
‘’Choke on it and die, gremlin.’’
The deity in the room deadpanned. ‘’…What a way to lower the tension, you two.’’
The brown-feathered giantess in the room tilted her head, then turned to Bell. ‘’What’s a Luigi?’’
The rabbit could only offer a shrug.
‘’In any case.’’ The cloaked figure cut through the noisy chatter easily enough and handed Rose an envelope. ‘’This is a message to you, Rose Fannett.’’
The wolf-hume raised a suspicious eyebrow, but when her eyes found the sealing wax, her heart dropped to her stomach. It was the Guild’s official symbol, only that of a different color. Instead of the usual maroon red, it was a dark, almost black blue.
Meaning that it came from Ouranos himself.
Hastily, she snapped the seal off and started to read.
Young Rose Fannett.
I understand the position you have been put in. Forget not, I appreciate the work of every single Guild member, and I recognize each one who served dutifully.
With that in mind, I made this message in advance for when an event like this came to pass.
I want you to take it as your duty to manage and ‘’properly file’’ the particular members that enter the Hestia Familia, as this could be a matter of sending Orario into a new Era.
An Era where maybe, just maybe, not everything is about glory, strength, and riches, but also understanding and unity.
Worry not. You will be rightfully compensated, and you will be relieved of other, more tedious duties to focus on this particular one.
Of course, if you were to reject this task, it would be understandable, but even so, I plead that you do not disclose what you have learned today.
P.S: I have already approved the extended vacation days you have requested. Rest is what keeps mind and body healthy.
-Ouranos.
Rose re-read the pages once, twice, thrice for good measure, and still couldn’t come up with what to say.
One look above the paper, however, revealed Roy had gone back to bothering his new ‘’Familia Member’’, sinking into the Jack Bird’s body, while the tall creature eagerly engulfed him in a feathery hug.
A second later, the shadow creature tried to do the same to both, acting as a blanket. Midna kept cackling in the air, while both the Goddess and bunny-hume looked at the scene with what Rose would really prefer wasn’t envy.
The only one staring at her directly was the self-proclaimed Fels. She glared at the cloaked person, yet it didn’t budge an inch.
Looking between the group and the paper again, Rose groaned silently.
‘I’m so going to regret this… So, so much.’ She ground her teeth together. From one of her pockets, she pulled a stamp… and pressed it right beside Ouranos signature. ‘But unless I’m watching over them, these idiots would bring me twice as much trouble. I can see it.’
‘’Your collaboration is appreciated by this one, Rose Fannett.’’ It spoke, taking in the signed letter with a nod.
‘’Shut up.’’ Rose sighed, resting her face on her palm and practically sinking in her seat. ‘’Just… just… ugh.’’
Roy turned to look at her. The man’s cheeky smirk turned into a warm one, for a second, at least. It was like he knew what she had done… or maybe he was just messing with her; the bastard liked to do that.
The images of their first meeting, the seriousness in his gaze, and the incessant teasing earlier today, not to mention the tiny moments where he stopped messing around and looked almost reliable.
…Like when he pulled her by the waist to take her out of the way from that Orc’s club, and the proximity let her feel the firm muscle below the clothing—
Her head slammed against the table with so much force that it made part of it crack.
‘’Ughhhhhhh…’’ She groaned.
‘’L-lady Rose?!’’ The Familia Captain shouted. ‘’Are you alright? Why did you do that?! Guys, help me here. She may need medical attention!’’
Meanwhile, the two other dumbasses just broke into laughter, making her groan louder.
Look at that, she was already regretting her decision!
Gods, she hated to be proven right.
-X-x-X-
-Roy Raynolds-
‘So I was right, and the Shadow government is real.’
Honestly, messing around with the joke was funny. Now, seeing a fully cloaked human… thing… whatever Fels is basically spawn behind our backs and confirm it? Yeah.
I would start feeding pop rocks to the pigeons at the plaza if this world had any.
In any case, after that sort-of meeting, Tiona had to hurry back to her friends. Something about her sister being a nosy tramp or whatever. Fels had offered a ‘’hidden way’’ to bring Label and Dodo back home without causing the need to sneak around, and our Goddess—AKA, the real MVP of today—followed along as she had some questions to ask the strange cloaked figure.
She did leave us with a strange message, however.
‘’Bell, Roy.’’ Hestia grabbed our attention. Her face, unlike most of the time, was stone-like, but her tone showed a degree of nervousness. ‘’Later tonight, I need both of you to come to my room. There’s something important I want to talk to you about.’’
Bell was eager to nod, matching her seriousness. ‘’Yes, Hestia!’’ The petite deity looked awfully chipper that Bell had dropped the ‘Lady’.
‘’…Zamn—Gah!’’
Yeah, that earned me a slipper to the face, but I couldn’t resist. It’s like telling an Italian not to do hand gestures, or a Texan not to duel at noon!
‘’You with us, hoomie?’’ Midna interrupted my musings by waving her right hand in front of my eye. ‘’Super-hot-babe to bald monkey~ Is bald monkey there?’’
‘’Bald monkey here.’’ I answered flatly.
‘’He’s alive!’’ The goblin gasped. I had to force the grin out of my mouth. ‘’Anyway… What are we doing now?’’
‘’We should probably head home.’’ Bell proposed as she crossed the Guild’s door and pointed at the orange sky. ‘’The sun’s already setting… though I guess we could head to the Hostess? I doubt they may be open considering the whole situation with the monsters.’’
‘’I say we find a bar and get shit-faced.’’ Midna offered with a toothy grin.
Bell frowned, nose scrunching up slightly as she turned away. An action that had so much sass coming from the bunny that Midna clutched her chest as if struck.
‘’You guys go ahead.’’ I waved them off and threw my thumb back. ‘’I have to give our grumpy advisor both Dodo and Label’s ‘status sheets’.’’
‘’Shouldn’t I be doing that as Familia Captain?’’ Asked Bell.
‘’Maybe.’’ I shrugged. ‘’But you know, I’m the one who does the stuff, if you know what I mean. I’ll have an easier time explaining… or something.’’
Bell frowned, and Midna floated down enough to look me in the eye. The latter had a strange expression on her face.
‘’Um… Roy?’’
‘’Yes, Bun-bun?’’
‘’Are you…’’ The girl paused, hand inching closer but stopping itself short. ‘’Are you feeling alright?’’
‘’Me?’’ I asked, confused. ‘’Always like a PB&J cause I’m sweet and creamy with it, why?’’
Bell blinked, probably trying to decipher just what the hell I was talking about.
‘’It’s… It’s nothing. Must have been my imagination.’’ Bell shook her head, gesturing to the floating Goblin. ‘’Come on, Midna. If I leave you alone, you’re bound to do something weird.’’
Again, the goblin stared at me strangely. I gave a tiny salute, and she did the same. Turning around to enter the building again, however, I was met with the sound of a clap and a pair of lips against mine.
It was a short gesture, and Midna cackled, probably at the stupid face I was making before she warped herself away again.
I touched my lips, then dismissed the action with a roll of the eyes and a smile. ‘’Freaking mellow.’’ I snorted.
With a deep breath, I looked around the building as it started to slowly fill up with employees coming back, probably from helping with the whole disaster that was the Monsterphilia event.
‘’Now… if I were a very overworked wolf-hume who had to deal with idiots all day, where would I go?’’
-X-x-X-
The obvious answer was the roof. Or, at least, it was obvious after I illegally checked all the private conference rooms in the building.
You know what they say: unless you’re in a group of three, then it’s just passing. Otherwise, why would it be called TRESpassing?
As the sky turned dark and its orange colors mixed with purple, I found my target.
The redhead was holding a bottle of what I assumed was beer, looking at the darkening sky while her tail lay flat against the ground. Slowly, I approached and sat right at her side.
Twin yellow eyes turned in my direction, and Rose spoke gruffly. ‘’…How did you not get stopped before getting here?’’
‘’Eh, what can I say?’’ I pressed a finger to my lips and winked. ‘’A mage never reveals his secrets~’’
Rose scoffed. ‘’Bitch, I see the nosebleed.’’
‘’Do you, now?’’ I asked. ‘’Or is it… an illusion.’’ This story is hosted at g.com.
The woman just deadpanned and pressed a handkerchief to my nose for a few seconds. Her raised eyebrow spoke volumes as the piece of cloth started filling with a coppery liquid.
‘’What an illusion, oh, grand mage.’’ She snorted dryly. A second later, the cloth was pulled away. The silence didn’t last long as Rose frowned, swirling her bottle around. ‘’…Thank you.’’
‘’Hmm?’’ Now it was my turn to raise an eyebrow.
The wolf-hume huffed, taking a swing of her bottle. Her fair skin flushed slightly. What was it with animal people and handling their alcohol like shit?
‘’For the save, idiot.’’ She explained. ‘’I’d be paying a fuckload to Dian Cecht if it wasn’t for you, so… yeah.’’
I hummed in acknowledgement and waved her off. ‘’It was nothing. Can’t have my favorite advisor become a dog-pancake now, can I?’’
‘’I’m your only advisor.’’ Rose rebuked. ‘’You’d send anyone else running, dickhead.’’
‘’Damn straight, bitch.’’ I grinned.
The both of us locked eyes and released a snort at the same time. Rose hesitated before offering me the cold bottle. I took it without hesitation and swung it back. It wasn’t bad beer, but it definitely tasted more… earthy. Probably a cheap brand?
‘’Oh noes~’’ I gasped in fake shock when giving back the beverage. Rose looked at me in confusion. ‘’An indirect kiss!’’
‘’…Are you five?’’ Rose deadpanned, but still, she looked at the bottle’s rim with a smidge of hesitation before drinking once more.
I cackled. She sent a death glare my way.
We stayed in silence for a bit longer, all the way until the sun finally sank into the horizon. Inside my head, however, I was coming up with the words, knowing very well how non-me they would sound.
‘’Thank you too.’’ I ripped the band-aid off.
Rose’s face scrunched up as if she had bitten into a lemon. ‘’…What for?’’
‘’Listening, I guess?’’ I shrugged. ‘’Honestly, I just felt like I needed to say it. I have told Hestia how the Monster-shit works, then Tiona and Bell. I’m running out of funny ways to come up with it. So, just thank you for not ratting us out or whatever. My pretty rear wouldn’t survive prison.’’
An uncomfortable silence followed. This is why I didn’t like this cringe shit. Being an annoyance felt much better because it left no awkward pauses.
It was action and reaction. Explosive. Boom.
Rose finally released a snort, turning to face me with a snobbish grin. ‘’You’re right. Your ass wouldn’t even survive a chick, much less a prison. You’re welcome.’’
‘’Oh?’’ I bit back, meeting her yellow eyes with my chocolate ones. ‘’That a bet I hear, doggie-girl? Just so you know, the last time a wolf challenged me, he found himself under the weather… and the table.’’
Rose’s stare didn’t hold that usual annoyance, merely a mysterious amusement. Was it because she was wasted? Some people tended to get chiller with the bottle in hand.
‘’Maybe… or maybe you’re just desperate.’’ The woman broke eye contact first, swinging down the last of her bottle. ‘’Guess we’ll never know~’’
‘’Never say never.’’ I rebuked with wiggly eyebrows. Rose just huffed, amused.
…
‘’So…’’ Rose started. ‘’You fuck monsters. I knew you were wrong in the head, but wow.’’
‘’Oh, piss off.’’ I chortled. Gently pushing the woman’s shoulder. ‘’You won’t say the same if you had a goblin and a war shadow going on you Insaneo Style.’’
Rose sneered. ‘’I’m not even going to ask.’’
I blew her a raspberry.
‘’In any case…’’ From below my cloak, I pulled two pieces of paper. ‘’These are Label and Dodo’s status sheets. Personally forged by yours truly!’’
‘’There’s something to be said about admitting to forgery of official documents. Specifically, how idiotic it is to do it not once but twice.’’ Rose stated flatly, but took the papers nonetheless. ‘’Let’s see… Ugh, of course that weird shadow-thing has a Skill like this. How do they even have a status? Monsters don’t have Falnas.’’
‘’They eat rocks. Rocks make em stronk. I act as the medium.’’ I answered. ‘’Pretty simple, honestly.’’
‘’And fucking nonsensical.’’ Rose huffed, ears twitching. ‘’Hmm… Right, I guessed this ‘Dodo’s’ Agility would be very high, but what is this spread?’’

‘’I have as much clue as you do, doggie.’’ The fact that the nickname made her growl was funny. ‘’Besides, the actual version of that read much more ridiculously. Oh, and, as a pretty please, make sure you don’t put Dodo on official shit. I don’t want our Familia to suddenly rank up and get people asking why.’’
‘’…Wasn’t planning to, but fine.’’ The woman re-read the file for a few seconds before pocketing it away. ‘’More work to get done, I guess.’’
‘’So is life!’’ I cheered. ‘’With great riches and bitches, come great amounts of pain in the ass… or something!’’
Rose blinked. ‘’…What the hell, sure.’’ She raised her empty bottle, mimicking my fist in the air.
After a bit more casual chatter, it was getting late enough that I should head home to talk with Hestia and Bell and whatever important thing she needed to tell us. Yet, as we took the stairs down, I froze.
‘’What?’’ Rose turned to look at me, now back to her aloof, if angry, face.
I merely took out the purse I had pocketed earlier today. ‘’…I forgot to give that money-grubbing waitress her shit. I lost me a free meal!’’
Rose facepalmed. ‘’You’re an idiot.’’
‘’Well… I can always say that there’s a fee for holding onto it…’’ I waved the purse around, hearing the clinking of coins inside.
‘’You will not steal a waitress’s money, Raynolds.’’ Rose stated.
‘’Bitch, let me live!’’ I argued.
‘’Living does not equal stealing stuff, you rat bastard!’’
‘’She robs people on the daily. This is retribution! Poetic Justice! This is the true path to redeeming her sins!’’
‘’Roy, I swear to Ouranos!’’ The wolf-hume growled.
Yeah, messing with people was much, much funnier.

Author's Note:
Yep, he done did forgot the sidequest. Here's hoping poor ''Syr'' doesn't starve to death without her money, lol.
This chapter feels a bit serious. Don't worry, that won't become a thing, but it's nice to have them from time to time.
Just wanted to add this for anyone who's curious:
''Run Like Dodo!''
Makes the User's Agility automatically max out after every level-up. (Jack Birds are considered Level 2 Monsters even if they are essentially harmless)
You may say ''this isn't logical''. I say ''this shit is funny asf''
The only obvious problem is Dodo is stupidly huge to be taken basically anywhere, unless they make her a good-enough dress to hide her wing-arms
And being dumb as rocks with such non-existent Strength would make her have Naoya's pillow-punches, lol.
As for the Golden Egg drop… I have something planned for that. Our boy may not have been robbed after all.
