The valley floor looked like a barren ditch of grey dust and cracked shale, but beneath the surface, it thrummed like a living organ.

Two thousand seven hundred heavy men-at-arms surged into the choke point, their iron-plated boots striking the ground in a terrifying, rhythmic thunder.

At the front of the massive advance, Lord Hector Vane’s heavy vanguard marched with pikes leveled, iron shields interlocked into an impenetrable wall twenty feet wide.Full novel: Isekai Overseer: Reign of the Behemoth — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

High above on the Nerve-Scribe Tower, Lyra sat suspended in her bio-chair, her silver-glowing temple mark burning with intense sapphire light.

Through the neural connection, the entire battlefield laid out inside her mind as a living grid of heat, mass, and velocity.

Valen stood beside her, his palm resting on her shoulder, channeling steady streams of purple System energy to stabilize her surging pulse.

“They’ve crossed the three-hundred-yard mark,” Lyra whispered, her voice echoing with a slight harmonic tremor.

“Their frontline density is at maximum.

The choke point has compressed them into a tight funnel.”

“Targeting nodes three through nine,” Valen commanded quietly.

“Karen, standby on the relay.”

Down on the parapets, Karen slammed her brass mechanical arm down onto the central valve lever.

“Marrow-Mines…

detonation sequence primed!” she screamed into the speaking tube.

[Target Zone: Central Choke Point]

[Detonation Type: Pressurized Bio-Thermal Fluid Shockwave]

BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!

The valley floor didn’t just explode—it ruptured upward like an erupting geyser of liquid fire.

Seven massive bone-spheres buried twenty feet under the dirt detonated in rapid succession.

Geysers of boiling sapphire-blue ichor and shattered calcified rock tore through the center of House Vane’s formation.

The shockwaves hit the interlocked iron shields with terrifying kinetic force.

Armor plates crumpled like paper.

Entire ranks of heavy infantry were lifted ten feet into the air before being thrown back into the charging soldiers behind them.

A massive cloud of boiling blue steam and black dust enveloped the entire canyon mouth. The source of this chapter is g.com.

Screams of wounded soldiers and panicked commands echoed violently off the cliff walls.

“Hold the line!

Hold the line, damn you!” an iron-clad captain roared through the smoke, blood streaming from beneath his dented helmet as he tried to reform his shattered ranks.

“Re-lock shields!

They only have primitive traps—”

A deafening, rhythmic THOOM…

THOOM…

THOOM…

cut the captain off.

Out from the smoke rose the massive, steel-and-bone snouts of the two refitted Bio-Mechanical Siege Leviathans.

Their diamond-tipped rotary drills spun at maximum RPMs, spewing streams of pressurized blue steam.

Behind them, Torin and the four remaining Bone-Shatter Vanguard operatives sprinted out of the gates, their calcified thoracic carapaces gleaming under the fires.

“Vanguard!

Drive them into the gorge!” Marcus screamed, leading the charge with his massive, four-foot bone-shield arm raised high.

The two forces slammed together with a brutal, sickening crash of metal against calcified bone.

Unlike the previous skirmish against a fractured vanguard, House Vane’s main body did not break instantly.

These were battle-hardened veterans of the Iron-Reach border wars.

Despite the devastation of the minefield, their rear ranks surged forward to fill the gap, locking heavy steel-reinforced pikes directly into the path of the advancing Leviathans.

“Brace!” the iron-clad captain screamed, thrusting his thick pike into the tread joint of the lead Siege Leviathan.

CLANG-CRACK!

The heavy iron pike wedged directly between the primary gear drive and the tread wall of the lead Leviathan.

The massive machine shuddered violent as its left tread jammed, sending a shower of sparks across the dirt.

A high-pressure gut-hose burst under the strain, spraying boiling ichor over the nearby penal workers who were escorting the vehicle.

“Left drive disabled!” Karen yelled up from the battlements, her goggles reflecting the fire below.

The engine manifold is spiking to dangerous temperatures!”

[Reactor Stability: 62% (Overheating)]

“Hold that flank!” Torin yelled, rushing forward.

He slammed his left bone-shield arm down to cover the disabled Leviathan, but three iron-clad soldiers lunged at him simultaneously with heavy, armor-piercing halberds.

STAB-STAB-CRASH!

One halberd blade caught Torin in the un-augmented joint of his shoulder, biting deep into his flesh and forcing him to his knees.

A second soldier slammed a heavy warhammer directly against his chest plate, cracking the outer calcified shell and sending a spray of blood from Torin’s mouth.

[VANGUARD UNIT WARNING: Torin (Health: 140/380 – Critical Bleed)]

“Torin!” Marcus roared, swinging his bone-blade in a broad arc to cleave through the haft of the warhammer, but two more iron-clad squads pushed into the gap, leveraging their massive numerical advantage to push the Bone-Shatter Vanguard backward toward the gate.

House Vane’s secondary siege battalion raised four heavy hand-cranked ballistas from the ridge above, locking their sights onto the exposed core of the immobilized Siege Leviathan.

“They’re targeting the reactor!” Lyra gasped in the tower, her hands shaking as a sharp wave of mental feedback rattled through her neural crown.

“Valen…

if those ballista bolts hit the exposed fuel manifold, the entire gatehouse will collapse in the explosion!”

Valen’s eyes went dark, his purple System aura flaring violently around his arms.

“Lyra, divert forty percent of the Nerve-Scribe Tower’s energy directly into my personal conduit,” Valen commanded, his voice deadly calm despite the chaos unfolding below.

“Valen…

that much raw power will burn your nervous system!” she cried out.

“Do it!”

Lyra gritted her teeth, tears of concentration welling in her eyes as she slammed her fingers into the central sinew controls.

[SYSTEM OVERCHARGE: DIRECT TRANSFER TO OVERSEER]

[System Energy: 1,800 / 680 (CAPACITY OVERFLOW)]

[Physical Strain: WARNING – TISSUE DAMAGE IMMINENT]

A blinding column of sapphire-and-purple lightning poured down from the tip of the Nerve-Scribe Tower directly into Valen’s right hand.

Pain shot through his chest, but he didn’t hesitate.

He leapt over the edge of the high parapet, falling forty feet straight down into the center of the bloody choke point.
