KIEFER POV Jay telled me about everything lily said to her that night I went silent.
For a second, I didn’t know what to say.
“Lily said that?” i asked Jay nodded.
“She said she liked you before we started dating.” she said I stared at the floor.
I remembered Lily.
She had become my friend after I came back.
We talked sometimes.
Hung out with our friends.
I had never thought of her as anything more.
Not once.
I felt anger rising inside me.
Not because Lily liked me , she was allowed to like whoever she wanted , but she wasn’t allowed to make Jay feel guilty for being with me.
“Jay.” i said She looked at me.
“You didn’t do anything wrong.” i said “I know.” she said “No.” i said I squeezed her hand.
“I mean it.
You didn’t steal me from anyone.” i said She gave me a small smile.
“I chose you.” i said Her smile disappeared.
“I know.” she said “And Lily doesn’t get to make you feel bad about that.” i said Jay looked away.
“I just didn’t want to cause a fight.” she said “We’re not going to fight.” i said I paused.
“But I am going to talk to her.” i said Jay looked at me.
“Kiefer—” she said “Not to start something.” i said I shook my head.
“I’m going to make something very clear.” i said “What?” she asked “She doesn’t get to disrespect you.” i said Jay was quiet.
Then she leaned against my shoulder.
“Okay.” she said I kissed the top of her head.
“You don’t have to worry about it.” i said I leaned against jay and i dont know when but i just sleeped JAY POV Kiefer was leaning against me taking , i was creasing his hair and kissing her head after every few minute and suddenly i noticed his breathing have became heavier .
i called him “Kiefer” Nothing He was asleep Even in his sleep , his dimple were a little visible I kissed his cheeks And i also fell asleep When i woke up Kiefer was not there I went to the kitchen , there he was making breakfast I went over and hug him from behind “Good morning” he said “Good morning” i said “Breakfast is ready , lets eat ” he said And turned to me Then he kiss me Like he was saying You are not my second choice You are always the first I smiled against his lip He pulled apart and said “Lets eat you must be hungry” I nodded and then we eat breakfast Then we got ready for universty i style one of his shirt cause i was in his house (outfit in comment) KIEFER POV The next morning, I saw Lily outside the university building , she was talking to ella and laughing , when she noticed me, she smiled.
“Kiefer!” she called me I walked toward her.
“Can I talk to you?” i said “Sure.” she said We stepped away from the others.
She looked at me.
“What’s up?” “Jay told me what you said to her.” i said Her smile disappeared.
“Oh.” “Did you tell her that she shouldn’t have dated me because you liked me?” i said Lily crossed her arms.
“I just told her the truth.” she said “No.” i said “You told her your feelings and made them her responsibility.” i said She rolled her eyes.
“I liked you first.” she said “And?” i said She looked surprised.
“What do you mean, ‘and’?” she said “I mean that doesn’t give you any claim over me.” i said She stared at me.
“I thought you were my friend.” she said “I was.” i said “Were?” she said I nodded.
“Until you started treating Jay like she had done something wrong by loving me.” i said She looked away.
“I just think she should have known.” she said “Known what?” i said “That I liked you.” she said “I didn’t know.” i said She looked at me.
“Exactly.” she said I shook my head.
“If you liked me, you could have told me.” i said She didn’t answer.
“But you didn’t.” i said I took a breath.
“And even if you had told me, I still could have said no.” i said Her expression hardened.
“So you chose her.” she said “Yes.” i said without hesitation Lily looked at me for a few seconds.
“But why?” she asked “Because I love her.” i said She looked away.
I continued.
“And I’m not going to stand here while you make her feel guilty for being with me.” i said “I wasn’t trying to—” she said “You were.” i said “Maybe you didn’t think it was bullying, but telling someone they shouldn’t date the person they love because you wanted them first isn’t okay.” i said She went quiet.
I took a step back.
“I don’t hate you.” i said She looked at me.
“But I’m done being your friend.” i said Her eyes widened.
“Kiefer—” “I don’t want to argue about this.” i said I shook my head.
“You can feel whatever you want about me.
That’s your choice.” i said “But leave Jay out of it.” i said I turned around.
“Kiefer!” she called me I stopped but didn’t turn around.
“I’m serious.” i said Then I walked away.
I didn’t look back.
For the rest of the day, Lily tried to talk to me.
I didn’t respond.
Not because I wanted to punish her.
I just didn’t want someone in my life who made the person I loved feel like she had to apologize for being chosen.
Jay didn’t need me to fight everyone for her.
She just needed me to stand beside her.
And I would.

LILY POV Kiefer is ignoring me from morning , that jay why she had tell him Its not a crime to love someone Our classes ended , i was going to find kiefer but then i saw him with jay They were taking Laughing And then kiefer went to somewhere I took my chance and went to jay When she saw me She smirked The audacity “Trust me this ain’t over ” i said and walk out I went home and as always the house was quiet There is no one in my life No mother No father No sibling Even my relative dony talked to me Only me and myself I dont even had friend cause evryone thinks i am a bully But i am not How could i explain them that i am not a bully I am just alone And want someone Who would listen to me but no one did Why am i alone ?
