“Don’t make me sound like some homicidal maniac,” Ronawa shot back, decisively rejecting the proposal.

“It’s not like I’m the Cursed Spirit of Murder.”

It’s just Satoru Gojo, right?Full novel: Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Spirt born of humanity’s fear of death — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

So what if I just avoid him?

At worst, she’d find some obscure, forgotten corner of the globe and lay low.

It wasn’t like Gojo could literally chase her down forever.

Ronawa’s dismissive attitude baffled Geto.

He stared at her, his usual smirk fading into something more intense.

“Do you really not feel an ounce of hatred for jujutsu sorcerers?

Or for humanity as a whole?”

“Why should I?” she replied, denying it as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

“Don’t forget, you are now the enemy of all sorcerers,” Geto reminded her, his voice low.

“From now on, every single one of them will be trying to kill you.

Do you really have no desire to kill them back?”

Ronawa nodded slowly.

That she actually did want to do.

But at the same time, she knew perfectly well that not every jujutsu sorcerer was her enemy.

Geto pressed his advantage.

“And as for humanity…

during the time you’ve spent with me, you should have seen just how ugly humans can be.

Such hideous, evil creatures—can you truly tolerate them remaining in this world?”

To put it bluntly, Geto was trying to manipulate her.

He wanted to stoke the flames of her hatred against humanity so she could become the sharpest blade in his grand plan: wiping out all non-sorcerers.

That way, Cursed Spirits would cease to be born.

The relationship between Cursed Spirits and humans was like light and shadow.

Shadows only exist where there is light.

At their core, Cursed Spirits were born because of humanity.

In this world, even an ordinary person possessed cursed energy.

It was microscopic, yes, but it was there.

And while one person’s cursed energy was insignificant, what about ten thousand people?

A hundred thousand?

Millions?

Billions?

When accumulated across such a massive population base, even the tiniest drops formed a terrifying ocean.

Humanity’s collective fear, magnified infinitely by their sheer numbers, ultimately gestated and birthed Cursed Spirits.

The only way to achieve this, in his eyes, was to slaughter all ordinary humans, leaving behind only the jujutsu sorcerers who could control their cursed energy leaks.

Honestly, his plan was completely delusional.

The ultimate goal of all his scheming was simply to create a world where jujutsu sorcerers would no longer be hurt.

But he hadn’t thought it through.

If there were no humans left, would there even be any new sorcerers?

Furthermore, Geto was incredibly naive to assume that without Cursed Spirits, sorcerers would be safe.

In reality, the ones who inflicted the most damage upon sorcerers were usually other sorcerers.

From any logical standpoint, Geto’s master plan was a joke.

However, just because the plan was a joke didn’t mean Geto wouldn’t try to execute it.

He was the textbook definition of a fanatic—once he locked onto a goal, regardless of how laughable or impractical it was, he would chase it without hesitation.

The high-EQ explanation: Suguru Geto was an idealist.

The low-EQ explanation: Suguru Geto was a stubborn meathead.

A normal person hits a brick wall and turns back.

Geto hits a brick wall and either smashes his head through it or bashes his own brains out trying.

That was why he wanted to wield Ronawa as his ultimate weapon.

Unfortunately for him, Ronawa wasn’t on board.

Faced with Geto’s increasingly desperate questioning, Ronawa swallowed her last bite of breakfast and looked him dead in the eye.

“I won’t deny that some people deserve to die,” she said firmly.

“But equally, from where I’m standing, a lot of them don’t.

For the ones who do deserve it, I wouldn’t want them breathing for another second.

But as for the ones who don’t, I’m not going to go out of my way to eradicate them.”

She wiped her mouth.

“If you’re trying to get me to slaughter all of humanity, just give it up.

You’re too extreme, Geto!”

Now that her strength had skyrocketed, Ronawa didn’t need to play any undercover mind games with him anymore.

Plus, her identity was already out in the open; there was nothing he could use to blackmail or control her.

She might as well lay her cards on the table.

If he accepted it, great.

If not, whatever.

What was he going to do about it anyway?

Ignoring Geto’s darkening expression, she continued her brutal deconstruction.

“I know about your past, and I can pretty much guess what you’re plotting.

You want to create a world where jujutsu sorcerers won’t be hurt, right?

Well, with all due respect, that’s impossible.”

She leaned in slightly.

Humans will never truly understand one another.

And jujutsu sorcerers are exactly the same.

Conflict is the fundamental rhythm of this world.

You cannot eradicate it!”

Without waiting to see the turbulent shifts on Geto’s face, Ronawa stood up gracefully and walked out the door.

Trash-talking Geto and then bailing.

How exhilarating.

Seeing Ronawa roast their father and dip, Mimiko and Nanako immediately jumped up, fully intending to block her path and vent their anger on Geto’s behalf.

But Geto stopped them.

Mainly because he knew the twins stood zero chance against her, but also because he was utterly paralyzed by her words.

As much as he loathed to admit it, Geto knew Ronawa was right.

Even if his grand plan succeeded flawlessly, would it really create a world where sorcerers never got hurt?

Impossible.

Conflict was inevitable.

Even now, the jujutsu world was a fractured, treacherous mess.

The number of sorcerers who died due to internal political strife far outnumbered those who died during actual Curse Subjugation missions.

Faced with this undeniable fact, his plan really was quite laughable.

And by extension, so was he.

Wasn’t a man who dedicated so much of his life to a laughable plan just as much of a joke?

To put it plainly, Geto’s master plan was total nonsense.

He might not admit it out loud, but how could he not have realized it deep down?

He had just been clinging to a desperate, naive hope.

Compounded by the fact that no one had ever so bluntly punctured his delusion, Geto had been allowed to harbor the fantasy that success would equate to salvation.

But now, Ronawa’s ruthless honesty had violently jolted him awake.

He couldn’t even lie to himself anymore.

What followed was a profound, suffocating emptiness.

If his plan was a joke, and his life’s goal was unattainable…

then what was the point of his existence?

What was he supposed to do now?

Hesitation.

Emptiness.

Confusion.

At this moment, it was no exaggeration to say that Suguru Geto had spiraled completely into a state of self-doubt and self-destruction.

The man looked visibly deflated, staring blankly at the table.

Seeing him like this made Mimiko and Nanako grind their teeth in pure hatred toward that white-haired brat.

Damn her!

She’s lucky she ran away so fast, otherwise we’d definitely teach her a lesson!
