Unsure of where to go next…

Ronova simply wandered the streets.

She didn’t buy much, but she certainly ate her fill.Full novel: JUJUTSU KAISEN: RONOVA, THE RULER OF DEATH — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

As night fell, Ronova began wondering where she would spend the night.

She couldn’t exactly sleep on a park bench.

Just then…

Suguru Geto appeared.

“I heard what happened.” “I didn’t expect you to be quite that ruthless.” “One hundred and twenty-seven sorcerers died, including sixteen Grade 1 sorcerers.” “I don’t think even I had a record that impressive.” Ronova gave him a speechless look.

Did he really think she wanted a record like that?

She had been left with no other choice.

Still…

She couldn’t deny that the deaths of those sorcerers had provided her with a tremendous amount of cursed energy.

It was precisely because of that sudden increase in power that she had unlocked a new technique.

Thousand Hands, Hundred Eyes — Dominion Over the Mortal World.

If Jujutsu Headquarters had sent fewer people and concentrated their forces around an elite Special Grade sorcerer such as Yuki Tsukumo…

Ronova wouldn’t have been able to deal with them so easily.

In terms of overwhelming her with numbers…

Their strategy had arguably been their greatest mistake.

After teasing Ronova for a while, Geto changed the subject before she could become annoyed.

“If you don’t know where to go…” “Why not come with me?” Ronova immediately took a few steps backward.

It wasn’t that she was overthinking things.

It was just that whenever Geto said something like that with a smile…

The wording reminded her of things she had seen in her previous life.

The similarities were simply too suspicious.

Even so…

She eventually agreed.

She was cautious of Gojo Satoru because she couldn’t defeat him.

Geto was different.

If she couldn’t beat him…

She could still escape.

Besides…

Her strength had increased dramatically since their last confrontation.

That gave Ronova a little more confidence.

Geto’s Home Geto eventually brought Ronova to a detached house near the port.

The building itself wasn’t particularly remarkable.

But the moment they stepped inside…

Two voices greeted them almost simultaneously.

“Welcome home, Geto-sama.” Ronova froze.

Two girls entered the living room.

They looked remarkably similar.

They were twins.

Both were high school-aged girls.

The moment they saw Ronova standing beside Geto…

The sisters stopped.

They stared at the unfamiliar white-haired girl.

Ronova, meanwhile…

Looked at Geto with an increasingly strange expression.

So…

Not only was this guy the leader of a religious organization…

He had two teenage girls living with him, too?

What a suspicious-looking man.

Geto immediately realized what she was thinking.

He sighed and rubbed his forehead.

“They’re my family.” “Nanako Hasaba and Mimiko Hasaba.” Ronova’s expression changed.

She knew these two.

The Hasaba sisters had been born in a remote village.

Both possessed cursed energy and could perceive curses.

Because of their abilities, the villagers feared and discriminated against them.

After a cursed spirit caused a series of deaths and disappearances in the village, the villagers eventually blamed the twins.

They imprisoned and abused the girls.

When Suguru Geto arrived to exorcise the curse…

The villagers demanded that he kill the two children as well.

Instead…

Geto saved them.

Then he massacred all 112 villagers.

That incident became the final turning point in his descent into the world of curse users.

Afterward, Geto took Nanako and Mimiko under his protection and eventually raised them as members of his faction.

The two sisters remained deeply devoted to him.

They would later fight alongside Geto during the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons.

Much later…

After Geto’s death, they remained devoted to him and refused to accept the entity controlling his corpse.

During the Shibuya Incident, they would ultimately meet a tragic end after trying to use Sukuna against the false Geto.

Sukuna killed Mimiko first and Nanako immediately afterward.

Ronova knew all of this.

The two girls were tragic figures.

They had been abused because of the very abilities they possessed…

Only to grow into curse users under Geto’s influence.

Ronova looked more closely at the sisters.

Mimiko had dark hair and a quieter, somewhat reserved appearance.

Nanako wore her lighter-colored hair longer and carried herself with a more fashionable, gyaru-like style.

They were both strikingly beautiful.

Ronova didn’t discriminate based on faction.

Pretty girls deserved proper greetings.

She raised a hand.

“Hello.” The sisters responded with wary expressions.

Ronova blinked.

…What’s with the looks?

Fine.

Maybe they were jealous.

She couldn’t really blame them.

Ronova soon learned where her room was from Geto and went to rest.

Pretty girls were one thing.

She wasn’t going to go out of her way to win them over.

After all…

She was pretty too.

Once Ronova had gone upstairs…

Nanako and Mimiko approached Geto.

The two exchanged glances before beginning to ask questions.

Most of them concerned Ronova.

More specifically…

Her relationship with Geto.

Geto found their curiosity amusing.

He eventually explained, “Ronova is a cursed spirit.” “Her abilities are extremely unusual.” “That’s all you need to know.” “She’s our ally.” The sisters looked at each other.

Their expressions relaxed slightly.

So…

She was simply another member of Geto’s faction.

That was enough.

Neither girl asked further questions.

They exchanged a few final words with Geto before returning to their rooms.

Geto watched them leave with a helpless smile.

Then…

He returned to work.

As the leader of his own faction and the former head of the organization that had grown from the remnants of the Time Vessel Association, he had an enormous amount of work to deal with.

The Time Vessel Association had originally been the Star Religious Group devoted to Tengen; after Geto became a curse user, he took control of its remaining followers and used them as the foundation of his own organization.

The Following Morning Ronova was awakened by a knock.

Knock, knock.

Yawning, she opened the door.

Nanako stood outside.

“Get up.” “Breakfast.” After saying that, Nanako turned and walked away.

Ronova blinked.

Then shrugged.

She splashed cold water onto her face, freshened up, and headed downstairs.

She wasn’t going to skip breakfast just because the sisters seemed wary of her.

When she arrived…

Nanako and Mimiko were already eating.

Geto was there as well.

He had even prepared Ronova’s breakfast.

Ronova looked at the food.

Then at Geto.

“…You can cook?” Judging from the appearance alone…

It looked surprisingly good.

What an unexpected talent.

Ronova sat down and began eating.

After a few bites…

Geto spoke.

“I’ve heard about what happened between you and Gojo Satoru.” “Two months isn’t much time.” “But considering your potential…” “It should be enough.” Ronova paused.

Geto continued.

“Do you need my help?” “I know quite a few people who operate in war zones.” “If necessary…” “I could arrange for you to visit places where people are dying every day.” “With your technique…” “You could witness enough deaths to grow dramatically.” Ronova’s expression darkened.

She immediately understood what he was suggesting.

Geto wasn’t joking.

As the leader of a wealthy religious organization and a powerful curse-user faction, he possessed extensive connections and resources.

If Ronova agreed…

He could send her to a region caught in an armed conflict.

There…

Death would be everywhere.

And with her ability to grow stronger through witnessing death…

Her cursed energy would increase at an extraordinary rate.

It was an efficient method.

A terrifyingly efficient method.

But Ronova still shook her head.

“No.” “I won’t turn an entire population into my training ground.” Geto quietly watched her.

Then smiled.

“Just as I thought.” Ronova returned to her breakfast.

She knew exactly how tempting that path could be.

But no matter how much pressure Gojo placed on her…

She still wouldn’t become the kind of monster who treated human lives as fuel.
