Teacher Liu was still trying to snatch the phone from Lin Yutang’s hand.

Seeing Gu Xun’an and the others approaching, he grew even more frantic.

Realizing he couldn’t get the phone from her, Teacher Liu, in a fit of rage, grabbed the thermos from the table and hurled it directly at the hand Lin Yutang was holding her phone with.Full novel: Just staying over? The thermos had no lid, and scalding hot water splashed entirely in Lin Yutang’s direction.

Ji Shuning was far away and gasped in shock: “Baby, dodge!!”

Lin Yutang instinctively stepped back, and a shadow suddenly fell before her eyes.

Not a single drop of hot water landed on her hand.

She looked up in a daze, and what met her eyes was Lu Chaosheng’s broad, sturdy chest.

“What the hell, Lu Chaosheng, are you crazy?” Zhou Shiying, who had followed him in, stared at the scene with his mouth agape.

Sure, Lu Chaosheng truly wasn’t afraid of pain—when he was a kid, his dad had whipped his back bloody with a thin wooden stick, and he hadn’t made a single sound, never crying out in pain.

But this was hot water! Boiling, steaming hot water!

Blocking the splashing hot water and the hard thermos for his sister—that was just like him.

Gu Xun’an had come to handle business; he had come to charm the girl.

Lin Yutang was dazed for a few seconds before she snapped back to reality, instinctively grabbing Lu Chaosheng’s arm.

“Are you okay? Your back must be scalded. Let me take you to the campus clinic!”

“I’m fine.” Lu Chaosheng curled his lips casually. “Let me deal with this beast who deliberately harmed someone first.”

He turned his head, a shadow of darkness flashing through his narrow phoenix eyes, and the smile at the corner of his lips was so cold it made one’s hair stand on end involuntarily.

The muscles in his arm beneath the short sleeve were smooth and sharp, every inch taut with solid strength, radiating a tense readiness to strike.

Lin Yutang’s hand was still resting on his arm, and she didn’t know if he’d forgotten to remind her or what.

She could feel the man’s forearm muscles suddenly tense up, hard as cast iron, clearly barely restrained and ready to throw a punch at Teacher Liu at any moment.

“Don’t fight at school—you’ll get punished.” Lin Yutang reminded him softly.

She didn’t want to see Lu Chaosheng get into trouble for standing up for her.

Besides, it would be hard to explain to Uncle Lu later.

Zhou Shiying walked over and leaned against the podium, grinning: “Sis, you’re overthinking it. No one at Jing University dares to give our Chaosheng a punishment.”

Lin Yutang bit her lip. So that was how it was, but openly beating up a teacher on campus, no matter the reason, wouldn’t look good in public opinion.

It wasn’t that she was soft-hearted, but beating someone up on campus just wasn’t feasible.

She quietly leaned close to Lu Chaosheng’s ear and whispered, “How about we stay calm for now, and when he gets off work and leaves school tonight, we go beat him up secretly?”

Lu Chaosheng curled his lips, finding it a bit amusing.

He could completely disregard everything and beat the man right here.

But since his sister had spoken, he’d listen.

He withdrew his fist, and Teacher Liu let out a sigh of relief.

But the next second, Lu Chaosheng directly opened the thermos on the table and poured the hot water down over Teacher Liu’s shoulder.

The scalding water made Teacher Liu shriek and howl: “So hot! It burns so much!”

Lu Chaosheng, with cold brows and eyes, leaned close to Teacher Liu’s ear and warned word by word: “Dare to bully someone under Lu Chaosheng’s protection? Tired of living?”

Teacher Liu’s entire face twisted and deformed from the intense pain, cries of agony coming one after another, his usual authoritative image completely gone. And when he heard the name Lu Chaosheng, knowing he’d offended a big shot this time, he nearly fainted from fright.

Gu Xun’an frowned, looking at the chaotic scene before him: “What’s going on? Tell me the details.”

From the moment Hang Xia suddenly objected, the head of the New Media Center had sensed something was wrong and secretly sent a message to the student council president.

Seeing President Gu Xun’an arrive, he breathed a sigh of relief and hurried over to explain the situation.

This was clearly an act of bribery.

The subsequent disciplinary actions for Hang Xia and Teacher Liu would be submitted by the student council to the school for handling.

Lin Yutang transferred the recording from her phone to Gu Xun’an’s phone.

Ji Shuning came over to add fuel to the fire: “Then we’ll trouble President Gu. Make sure these people with ill intentions get the punishment they deserve.”

Lin Yutang also chimed in with thanks: “Thank you, President Gu!”

“No problem, no need to be so polite. The student council will definitely handle this properly.” Gu Xun’an smiled warmly, gentle as jade.

Not far away.

Lu Chaosheng stood at the door, expressionless as he watched the scene, a hint of chill seeping from the corners of his slightly raised eyes and brows.

Why was his sister smiling at Gu Xun’an?

Was Gu Xun’an more handsome than him? Richer than him? Stronger than him? Bigger than him?

Why was she smiling at Gu Xun’an so happily, even talking to him?

Lin Yutang walked out and lingered at the door for a moment, telling Ji Shuning to head back first.

Gu Xun’an happened to be walking out as well—he still needed to deal with the teacher’s bribery matter.

Lu Chaosheng suddenly called out to stop him: “Stop radiating that fake warm-guy charm of yours all the time.”

Gu Xun’an: “…?”

Completely baffled, he asked: “When did I ever radiate charm?”

Zhou Shiying and his group had nothing to do and were about to go with Gu Xun’an when they suddenly heard Lu Chaosheng’s words. The whole group burst into laughter, doubling over.

Zhou Shiying draped his arm over Gu Xun’an’s shoulder and took the initiative to act as translator. “Chaosheng means, don’t smile at his sister so warmly. We all know exactly what kind of person you are.”

Lu Chaosheng was cold in front of others, and even colder and more unhinged behind their backs.

Gu Xun’an was warm in front of others, but behind their backs, he was the most cold-hearted and ruthless.

Neither of them was a good person.

Zhou Shiying straightened his collar, a smile in his eyes, suddenly feeling like he was the normal one in this circle.

After they all left, Lin Yutang jogged up to Lu Chaosheng. “Let me take you to the campus clinic to get your back looked at. A burn isn’t a small thing.”

Lu Chaosheng lowered his gaze to look at her, his eyes calm and deep like a still pool, undisturbed and unreadable.

He casually rotated his wrist. “No need for all that trouble. Just buying a tube of burn ointment from the pharmacy is enough.”

Lin Yutang hadn’t noticed the red mark on his wrist until she saw his small movement. She stepped forward, grabbed his lean, sharply defined wrist, and brought it up to her eyes.

“Your wrist is burned too! No, we can’t just go to the pharmacy. I’m taking you to the campus clinic to get checked out first, then get the medicine.”

This feeling of being cared for by his sister—one word: amazing.

But Lu Chaosheng didn’t say it.

He lowered his lashes, staring at the girl who was leaning in to look at his wrist, his voice slightly paused. “No need for all that trouble. The campus clinic is pretty far from here.”

Lin Yutang ignored whatever else he said and dragged him to the campus clinic for a thorough examination.

Nothing serious, but the burns on his back and wrist both needed treatment.

A nurse auntie in her forties held the burn ointment in one hand and a cotton swab in the other, looking helpless and exasperated. “Young man, when I apply the medicine for you, don’t move around.”

“Auntie, your hands are strong. It hurts when you apply it.” Lu Chaosheng’s tone was indifferent.

The nurse auntie was truly at her wit’s end.

“You there, little miss—are you his girlfriend? Come over and help your boyfriend apply the medicine.”

Lin Yutang froze, pointing at herself. “Ah, me? I’m not his—”

The nurse auntie automatically filtered out her protest, shoving the burn ointment and cotton swab all into Lin Yutang’s hands. “Here, you help him apply it.”

She hurried away, muttering as she went, “This ointment is so gentle, it wouldn’t hurt even if you’d scraped the skin off your hand. These male college students these days, so delicate…”

The door closed, leaving only Lin Yutang and Lu Chaosheng in the room.

She resigned herself to helping him apply the medicine.

The girl’s movements were very gentle. She spread the burn ointment over his wrist, then, blushing, lifted his short sleeve to apply it to his back.

The man’s figure was lean but not thin, his shoulder and back lines clean and well-defined, his muscles firm and smooth—clearly someone who worked out regularly.

Lu Chaosheng let out a soft hiss. The gentle touch landed on every inch of skin on his back, and her warm little hand occasionally brushed past a spot, sending all the blood in his body rushing to one place.

Perhaps he had underestimated his possessiveness toward her.

Seeing her pestered by Fu Xitan, seeing her smiling sweetly at his friends in thanks—all of it made the thoughts he had suppressed deep in his heart for so long, thoughts that could never see the light of day, roar and surge forth once again.

He wanted to occupy all her attention, and he wanted to occupy every inch of her body.

“All done, brother! I’ve finished applying the medicine!”

Lin Yutang’s sweet, soft voice rang out at just the right moment.

Lu Chaosheng licked his lips, his slightly hoarse voice dripping with deliberate, wicked seduction: “Come here. Sit here, little sister.”
