Xie Sui took a few sips following Jin Huaiqian’s movements when the doorbell rang once more.
“Who is it?” Xie Sui frowned.
“Zhou Zheng brought the medicine.”
Jin Huaiqian let go of him and emphasized, “Don’t move.”
Then he stood up to open the door for Zhou Zheng.
Zhou Zheng: “President Jin, this is the medicine bought according to your request.”
Jin Huaiqian took the things, thanked him, and closed the door.
Zhou Zheng: “…”
Jin Huaiqian opened the medicine box, his eyes lowering to carefully scan the instructions on it. Taking out the pills, he handed them to Xie Sui along with some warm water, instructing, “Come, take the medicine.”
When these words entered his ears, Xie Sui’s heart inexplicably stirred slightly.
Xie Sui obediently took the medicine.
“Feeling any better?” Jin Huaiqian asked.
“How could the medicine work that fast? It still hurts a bit right now.”
Xie Sui pushed his luck: “The sofa is uncomfortable, carry me to the bedroom.”
Jin Huaiqian lifted him up horizontally in a bridal carry: “Hold on tight.”
As his body sank into the soft bedding, Xie Sui felt uncomfortable all over instead.
Just now he had broken out into a cold sweat from the pain, and his clothes were sticking clammy against his skin, making him very uncomfortable. But right now he felt entirely drained of strength, and that dull ache in his stomach hadn’t completely dissipated either.
Jin Huaiqian noticed his discomfort. “You sweated, taking a shower will make you feel more comfortable.”
“Don’t want to move,” Xie Sui mumbled a sentence. “No energy.”
Jin Huaiqian raised his eyebrow: “Should I help you wash?”
“No, sick people shouldn’t go into the bathroom. Help me wipe down instead.”
Jin Huaiqian laughed, the corners of his brows tinged with helplessness: “What kind of crooked logic is this?”
Xie Sui looked perfectly serious, his tone teasing: “That’s what the experts on the internet say. Or are you shy? Embarrassed?”
Jin Huaiqian said, “As long as you aren’t embarrassed, it’s fine.”
A few minutes later, Jin Huaiqian brought out a basin of warm water from the bathroom.
Xie Sui spread both his hands out: “You help me take it off.”
Jin Huaiqian said, “You might as well just laze to death.”
The words were said that way, but Jin Huaiqian still helped him take off his top, then picked up the warm towel and began wiping down Xie Sui’s body.
At the beginning, his body was somewhat stiff because no one had ever done this kind of thing for him before; Xie Sui was a bit unaccustomed to it. But gradually, his body relaxed down bit by bit.
He gazed at Jin Huaiqian’s lowered eyelashes and focused expression. He hadn’t expected this person to actually go through with it. Thinking this way, he suddenly burst out laughing.
“What are you laughing at?”
Xie Sui said, “The grand crown prince of the Jin Group is actually wiping someone’s body down, suddenly I feel like this matter is very funny. Have you ever done this kind of thing for someone else before?”
“No.”
Xie Sui didn’t believe it: “I don’t believe it.”
This time, Jin Huaiqian fell silent for two seconds before changing his words to say, “Yes.”
Almost instantly, Xie Sui thought of Dan Mingyu.
He snorted coldly in his heart. He hadn’t expected this mad dog to be quite loyal.
Xie Sui stopped talking.
Jin Huaiqian noticed he had gone quiet. Lifting his eyes to glance at his tense jawline, he asked with a low laugh, “Jealous?”
“Cut it out, I don’t care for being jealous, don’t pin labels on me.”
Jin Huaiqian let out a low chuckle.
The warm towel wiped across the skin, bringing about bouts of tremors.
After Jin Huaiqian finished wiping the upper body, he went ahead to pull off his underwear.
Xie Sui already showed signs of waking up.
Jin Huaiqian reached out and flicked it, instantly drawing out a small gasp from Xie Sui.
Xie Sui said in dissatisfaction, “What are you doing?”
Jin Huaiqian switched to a different towel.
After taking it aside to wipe clean, he moved to the other side to wipe it clean.
Jin Huaiqian teased, “You look sickly, yet this little guy of yours is quite spirited.”
Xie Sui gave a little thrust: “How about you reward him a bit?”
Jin Huaiqian pulled over the blanket to cover him up, turning out to be a proper gentleman for once: “Simmer down.”
Xie Sui struggled a bit inside the blanket, poking his head out. His hair had been ruffled into quite a mess, and he curled his lips, mumbling in a low voice, “Boring.”
Jin Huaiqian poured the water away and took a shower in the bathroom.
By the time he pushed the door and came out, Xie Sui was already about to fall asleep.
Jin Huaiqian walked to the bedside, lifting the other side of the blanket extremely naturally, and lay down inside.
The scent and body heat belonging to another person instantly invaded.
Jin Huaiqian still carried the faint, clean fragrance of body wash on him, filling up Xie Sui’s nasal cavity.
Xie Sui said, “I’m sleepy, not providing services tonight.”
Jin Huaiqian adjusted his posture, his warm arm reaching horizontally across to rest on Xie Sui’s waist. With a gentle pull, he drew him backward into his own embrace.
“Sleep.”
Simultaneously because it was too warm beside him, Xie Sui actually fell asleep very quickly.
When Xie Sui woke up again, Jin Huaiqian had already left.
Xie Sui reached out to feel the position beside him; it had already lost its warmth and was completely cold.
Every time he opened his eyes, he couldn’t see him.
Xie Sui felt a bit displeased.
Xie Sui slowly supported his body to sit up. His stomach didn’t hurt anymore, and a sense of hunger surged up instead.
He shuffled out of the bedroom in his slippers, catching sight of a sticky note on the wall opposite the bedroom at first glance.
Truly interesting, actually sticking the note here.
Xie Sui walked over and peeled it off. On it was Jin Huaiqian’s crisp and forceful handwriting:
【The porridge is in the pot. If it’s cold, remember to heat it up before eating. Remember to eat on time.】
The corners of Xie Sui’s lips curved. Consider yourself tactful, I forgive you.
Xie Sui uncovered the electric rice cooker. Inside was the warmed, softly boiled and fragrant white porridge; it must have been re-boiled, as green vegetables were mixed inside.
Inside the small steamer pot next to it sat a few small steamed buns (xiaolongbao).
He stared at that porridge for a good while before picking up a bowl, scooping a bowl for himself, and slowly eating it.
The temperature of the porridge was just right, comforting his stomach warmly.
After finishing breakfast, Xie Sui cleaned up the bowls and chopsticks.
Having eaten and drunk his fill, he stretched his back. Just as he intended to take a shower, the doorbell rang.
Xie Sui opened the door to see a delivery worker carrying a mattress standing at the entrance.
Xie Sui froze for a moment, inquiring politely, “Master, this is?”
The worker gave a simple and honest smile. “This is the mattress you ordered, I saw the address is here, it shouldn’t be wrong.”
“Mattress?”
Seeing his confusion, the worker grew terrified that he had delivered it to the wrong person, quickly pulling out his phone to check the address once more.
“The address is here, that’s correct.”
Xie Sui recalled something. “Oh right, sorry to trouble you to help me move it in, master.”
“Sure.”
“Master, you can just lean it here in the living room.”
The worker leaned the mattress against the wall of the living room. Just as he was preparing to leave, Xie Sui handed a bottle of water to him.
The worker froze for a moment. “Ah, um, thank you!”
Xie Sui gave a gentle smile. “It’s nothing, thanks for the hard work.”
After the worker left, Xie Sui checked the brand of the mattress, and sure enough, it was the exact one from his memory.
Looking at the tag, Xie Sui grew thoughtful.
Xie Sui sent lunch to Jin Huaiqian for a week straight, and after that, Xie Sui stopped.
Jin Huaiqian sent a message to ask him.
Xie Sui replied: 【Sent it for a whole week, I’m tired, don’t want to make it anymore.】
After a short while, Jin Huaiqian replied: 【Fine.】
Fine?
What does “fine” mean?
Xie Sui: 【Are you that aloof? What does fine mean.】
Q: 【It means I got it.】
S: 【Screw off.】
It wasn’t until the next day that Xie Sui found out what “fine” actually meant.
