Cain’s Pov.

I ignored it, I would deal with them later, right now my chest had tightened from discomfort, my lungs squeezed from something I had forgotten how to feel — Sadness.

It rarely spoke but when it did its voice carried rough tremors.

I could feel him, fighting to have an out, he wanted his mate, and he had no issues battling for control just to get what he wanted.

Following the trail left behind by that honeydew scent I soon found myself standing in front of the same room I had dumped her in.

The barest room here, a place I had once thought she deserved, because no spawn of Theron deserved anything good, and now?

Now?

Those same thoughts have come to hunt me, to squeeze the life out of me.

I felt something wet touch my cheeks, I swiped with my two fingers.

‘Tears’ I scoffed.

When last did a single drop of it leave my eyes?

She was clearly messing with me.

The door was slightly opened, she bent by the window, her body shook, shoulders trembling, strangled sobs left her body.

Like she was trying to hold it back but they still came out, choked.

Was she crying for him?

The monster that took everything from us?

I couldn’t see her face but watching her like that did something to me, something I couldn’t explain.

I watched her wordlessly, watching how her long hair fell over her body, a hair I see myself fisting in the nearest future while doing unimaginable things.

‘Shit’ I cursed inwardly, forming this blood bond was a mistake, one I was starting to see now.

One that will ruin me if care wasn’t taken but yet, my wolf welcomed the idea of being ruined if only by her hand. Get faster updates on novelpin‌g.com.

He craved it, wanted it.

Like she was the only thing keeping him tethered.

Her body rocked the more the tears fell, She faced the window so seeing her face was out of the question.

Was I wrong?

To have talked about Theron in her presence?

I don’t regret my words, not even by a bit.

I was going to serve the bastard a slow and agonizing death, and I would start by taking everything he held dear to him.

Starting from his little princess, cut off everything bit by bit, until he has nothing and no one to rely on, not even his pack of hounds.

That is the plan right?

But why does my heart clench at the sight before me?

Not even for Elena did I feel this way.

Should I have been more subtle?

Wait until she was gone before revealing the plan.

As if with a mind of its own my feet moved to stand behind her, her shoulders stiffened, she felt my presence.

Only the sound of her breathing could be heard, mine?

Well, dead men don’t breathe, a survival rule I learnt long ago.

Her sobs still fell, reduced yes, but they still came, she could barely hide them.

“I know he is your father, but—” I began,

”No.” a sharp voice cut me off.

My brows furrowed, watching as she stood, then turned to face me, I took her in.

“He is a monster, a monster who deserves to burn in nine hells and never reincarnate, a monster who should be cut piece by piece until nothing remains of his miserable life.

He is not my father.” She spat, with each word her shoulders trembled.

That was when I felt it, it rose like hot lava, looking into those fiery eyes I saw them too — anger.

An anger that burned brighter than any other thing I had ever seen.

It went straight to my heart, biting like a vengeful venomous snake, a feeling I never thought a little bunny like her capable of, what had Theron done to my innocent angel?

“Bunny” I called softly, unable to stop myself from reaching out.

She heaved, chest rising and falling, “I want him dead.” She gnashed her teeth veins throbbing with raw anger.

She wiped her tears with the back of her hands, still watching her every movement, she took her heads in mine and then looked up.

Her pupils glimmered, I could see the fire burning so brightly beneath them that I had no doubt of being burned if I so much as went close.

Her voice was low, so low that I may have missed it, “Promise me, promise me you’ll end him, use whatever dirty trick in the book but promise me, you’ll take revenge for Elena even if I’m too weak to do it,” she looked at me hopefully.

The words dried up in my mouth, stiffly I nodded, unsure what to make of this.

A version of her that never existed, something dark had grown in her over the years, something dark enough that she would sell her soul to the devil if it meant ending Theron.

I could see it in the way those icy pupils narrowed.

She would do anything and somehow, in less than a few days of being with her, I have felt things I haven’t felt in years, feelings I thought dead.

And now with those ice blue eyes sending a chill down my spine, I knew something was off, whatever Theron did, it changed her because no ordinary gaze could make the hairs on an Alpha’s back stand erect.

She gave me a satisfied smile, the look disappeared instantly like it was never there, her body shook, the tremors were back, much worse than the first time, her body convulsed falling straight into my arms.

“Aria, Aria.” I shook her, “Shit.

Bones get here now” I screamed into the mind link trying to contain her.

” Shit, Aria, stay with me.” I pleaded desperately, cradling her on my chest, my wolf howled loudly banging against the wall that separated us, he was losing her and he could feel it.

A howl escaped my lips once more,

”Bonesssss”
