Thanks to the coordinator, Miss Lumina, the white flags were easy to find. He quickly gathered them all and went back to his classmates.
On his way back to his allies, he saw some students from another class.
Not only did he see them finding the flags, but he also saw some students from different classes fighting.
He did not meddle in the battle and quietly escaped from there.
His gaze landed on a girl with silver-white hair, highlighted strands in blue.
Still oblivious to him, focused entirely on her search.
She had a flag in her hand, but it wasn’t the same as her team’s.
She didn’t seem to be aware of Prince’s existence and continued finding flags while holding one in her right hand.
Prince silently crept up behind her and, "booo!"
The girl seemed to be startled and let out a scream. "Aaack!" She turned back in an instant.
"Whoa, Snow, you can be startled too? That’s a unique trait I didn’t know about." He grinned at her.
"Ah, seriously! I thought my heart could missed a beat for a second."
"By the way, what are you doing here all alone? At least you should have one D1 member."
"Anyways, weren’t you going to join D1?"
"Nope~ since when did I say I’ll join D1?"
She narrowed her eyes, "And where were you until now?"
"W-Where I was? Hmm... yes! I was helping a bird; it was trying hard to fly, so I helped it a little, just a little."
"Another lie..." she muttered with a sigh. "Whatever, take this flag with you."
She handed him a green flag.
"Hmm... I was wondering how you got one. But it will really help us!"
’It’s a green flag of Class C! Kale will definitely come to get this.’
He tucked the flag into his pocket.
After a while, the sun began to set. It was dusk when the two of them started returning to the allotted green zone.
It was then, they heard footsteps behind them; they instinctively turned back.
But the source of the sound was not an enemy class, it was their own.
They joined Snow and Prince and started moving together.
Prince suddenly realized something. "Hey guys, I think a bird needs my help. I’ll be back in a few minutes."
"Huh? Again, that bird? Did the same bird ask for your help again?" Snow looked at him with doubtful eyes.
"You are a genius!" He replied, lips curled up.
They started walking again. However, this time Prince watched their backs disappear into a small dot.
"Looks like it’s time to set up the trap." He muttered.
Prince looked around himself, as if checking that no one was watching him.
Then he yanked out the white flags from his pocket and cast his shadow over them, turning the white fabric black.
’Perfect!’
After walking for a few minutes, Prince used his skill Black Eclipse, which made everyone believe that the night had already fallen.
Black Eclipse: It creates an artificial darkness.
Black Eclipse covered the entire island. Students from different classes started roaming around because there was only one way to find the black flags: at night.
He wandered around the forest for a while, fought some low-ranked monsters.
None of them gave him any real fight, a handful of shadow wolves too slow to land a even a single hit on him.
A pair of overgrown beetles that cracked apart after a single strike from his shadow blade.
It was almost disappointingly easy, as a warm up compared to what he’d already survived this year alone.
And doing so, he placed the white flags near the Class C students he saw in his way, so that they would pick the white flag while assuming it was a black flag.
Somehow he found a black flag while placing a white flag.
’Let’s see how long I can hold Black Eclipse.’
Walking alone, Prince caught a glimpse of a female figure; it was hard for him to recognise who it was, so he moved closer to get a better look.
She was Elisha Dumien, daughter of the most influential ducal family in the Fyugel Kingdom after the royal family.
"Ahh. Lord Prince, what a coincidence."
"Well yeah, coincidence."
She pushed him back against the tree and leaned in close, her bare fingers tracing his jawline.
"Lord Prince, I apologize for how rude I was before, but I can’t stand seeing you with any other girl."
’Ok ok, this girl is seducing me right now, like I will fall into her trap, same as the last time.’
"Ahem! Are you done with your rudeness?" He scoffed.
She closed the last of the distance between them, close enough that he could feel her warm breath against his mouth.
