Ran slowly walked down the stairs.
Ami and Seo were already waiting in the lobby.
Both of them had changed from their regular school uniforms into sports uniforms.
“You two look like professional athletes today,” Ran said with a smile.
“And you still look half asleep,” Seo replied.
A short while later, the three of them headed to school.
When they arrived, the entire school ground had transformed into a colorful sports arena.
Banners were hanging everywhere.
Energetic music blasted through the loudspeakers.
Students, teachers, and parents could all be seen wearing sports uniforms.
Some parents were busy taking pictures of their children, while others were already dreaming about victory.
A few moments later, the Principal stepped onto the stage.
He grabbed the microphone.
“Dear students, parents, and teachers—”
The moment he started speaking, many people silently thought:
“Here we go again…”
“Is a speech necessary at every event?”
“The games will end before this speech does.”
Even Ran couldn’t help but chuckle.
Finally, after ten long minutes, the speech came to an end.
Now came the most important announcement.
Team Division
All participants were divided into two teams:
🔴 Red Team
⚪ White Team
Each team had 20 members.
The White Team included Ran, Ami, Lee Hansu, Joon-ho, and several others.
The Red Team consisted of multiple teachers, senior students, and some of Ran’s childhood rivals who used to pick fights with him back in school.
Supporters from both teams stood around the field, cheering for their players.
“You all have five minutes for warm-up.”
The Principal’s voice echoed across the field.
Both teams immediately began preparing.
Some stretched their muscles.
Some practiced running.
Others discussed strategies.
The entire ground was filled with excitement and energy.
Five minutes later, the whistle blew.
The first event was about to begin.
Dodgeball
⚪ White Team vs 🔴 Red Team
10 vs 10
The crowd’s excitement had reached its peak.
“3…”
“2…”
“1…”
“START!”
As the whistle sounded, the ball flew into the air.
Both teams rushed forward instantly.
During the opening minutes, the Red Team completely dominated the match.
Their teachers and experienced players kept applying pressure on the White Team.
One White Team member after another was eliminated.
The crowd’s cheers echoed throughout the field.
Before long, the situation became critical.
Only these players remained on the White Team:
– Ran
– Ami
– Lee Hansu
– Joon-ho
– Two other bully boys
“This isn’t looking good,” Ami said nervously.
Ran smiled.
“Don’t worry.”
He gathered his teammates.
“If you know how to play, then play.”
“If you don’t, just focus on surviving.”
“No one gets eliminated from now on.”

His confidence immediately lifted everyone’s spirits.
The second half of the match began.
This time, the White Team played much more carefully.
Everyone stayed alert.
Then the ball landed in Ran’s hands.

One player eliminated.

A second player eliminated.

A third player eliminated.
The entire field exploded with cheers.
“WOOOAH!”
“What a throw!”
“Ran!
Ran!
Ran!”
White Team supporters jumped to their feet.
Inspired by the momentum, Lee Hansu stepped up as well.
He launched a perfect throw.
SMACK!
Another Red Team member was eliminated.
“That’s it!” Ran shouted.
“Keep it up!”
A few seconds later, Joon-ho delivered an impressive shot of his own.
His aim was flawless.
Another player was out.
The match was slowly turning around.
Many spectators were already standing.
Nobody wanted to miss a second of the action.
Ami finally got her chance.
She threw the ball with perfect timing.
A Red Team member was eliminated.
However, moments later, she was hit by a ball herself.
And just like that, she was out.
“Good job!” Ran shouted from a distance.
Ami smiled and stepped off the field.
Current situation:
⚪ White Team – 5 players
🔴 Red Team – 4 players
Ran grinned.
“Now we have the advantage.”
“Let’s finish this!”
The final phase began.
But suddenly, two White Team members were eliminated back-to-back.
Now only:
⚪ Ran
⚪ Lee Hansu remained on the field.
Meanwhile, the Red Team still had four players.
The crowd held its breath.
“Two against four?”
“How are they going to win this?”
People whispered nervously.
Ran leaned toward Hansu and whispered:
“Just focus on dodging.”
“Leave the rest to me.”
Although he had no idea what Ran was planning.
The match resumed.
The Red Team focused all of their attention on Ran.
That proved to be their biggest mistake.
The ball landed in Ran’s hands.
SMACK!
One player eliminated.
A few moments later, he got the ball again.
SMACK!
Another player eliminated.
Now only two Red Team players remained.
The crowd’s chants grew louder and louder.
“WHITE TEAM!”
“WHITE TEAM!”
“WHITE TEAM!”
The final showdown had begun.
One Red Team player threw the ball with all his strength.
Ran ducked.
The ball flew right over his head.
In the very next moment—
He caught it.
The entire field was stunned.
“What a catch!”
The next second—
SMACK!
A third player was out.
Now only one Red Team player remained.
The field fell completely silent.
Every eye was fixed on the match.
Ran took a deep breath.
He aimed carefully.
Then threw the ball with all his strength.
SMACK!!
The whistle blew.
MATCH OVER!
⚪ White Team – 1
🔴 Red Team – 0
The entire field erupted into applause and cheers.
White Team members jumped around in celebration.
Ami ran over.
“You’re seriously insane!”
Seo laughed.
“This guy doesn’t know how to lose.”
Lee Hansu and Joon-ho were shouting with excitement as well.
Everyone congratulated one another.
On the other side, the Red Team looked disappointed.
However, one of the teachers smiled and said:
“There are still nine games left.”
“The battle isn’t over yet.”
Ran smiled.
He looked up at the scoreboard.
⚪ White Team – 1
🔴 Red Team – 0
And with the crowd still roaring with excitement…
