Another two weeks passed by as I made the 2nd floor my hunting ground. My conquest against goblins was progressing well.

"I was right to pick up this dungeon. No monsters beside goblins, and absence of traps made it easier for me to act solo. In the last two weeks, I had also managed to hit level 4. Now, I could defeat goblins at once as long as it was a clean hit. At this point, I had become used to hunting goblins. And perhaps, it was this confidence that led me to my negligence.

I had concluded there was no trap on the 2nd floor, but there was one certain trap that could occasionally appear anywhere regardless of the floor. The deeper you're in the dungeon, the higher the encounter rate. And vice-versa, the threat of that trap was almost non-existent.

That day, I was exploring the dungeon as usual, checking out a room with door to see if there was any item or goblins when—

—*THUD*!!

"W-what?!"

The door that was supposed to be open suddenly closed with a bang, and near the entrance, innumerable magic circles began to appear. The next thing I know, the entrance was swarming with goblins all over, as if they're trying to seal the door.

"You must be kidding me! It is a Monster House?!"

This trap had no fixed location as it kept changing the location everyday, so there was no hint for it in the map I bought. There was, however, one way to distinguish the trap, and that was a small mark on the door. It was the cue to avoid the room, and yet, here I was...!

" " " "Gobyahh!!" " " " "

There were tens of goblins in the locked room. It didn't take long for nearby goblins to come lunging at me.

I had only faced two goblins at once, so five of them was an overwhelming force. I never thought I would've to face five of them.

No, right now wasn't the time to think what and what wasn't possible. I shook my head to reset my mood, and gripping the wooden sword tightly between my hands, I slammed it against the head of a nearby goblin.

"Gigyaah?!"

I didn't stop to look at the outcome, but shifted my grip on the sword from two-handed style to one-handed style. On another hand, I held the «Poisonous Dagger», drawing it out of my knife case. Without caring for my form, I started slashing at goblins left and right.

I tried to use my usual strategy—poisoning goblins with my dagger, causing them to momentarily flinch and then take out the fallen goblins first before bringing them to 1-vs-1. However before that could happen, the 3rd goblins jumped at me.

I dodged the swing of its wooden stick, but in that moment, the 4th goblin jumped at me. This one was empty-handed, so I tried to defend using my arm, and it instead latched to it. Then, despite the armguard covering it, it tried to bite through it.

"Tch, get off me!"

"Gyaah."

Fortunately, I was holding a wooden sword in that hand, so I managed to prick its neck with my dagger. Really, I don't think I would've managed to deal if it had latched to the hand that was holding the dagger. I could've tried, but I doubt bashing the hilt—due to limitation of movements—against its head would've done much.

But there was no moment of respite. Almost immediately, the 5th goblin, and the 3rd goblin from earlier jumped at me.

"Raaargh, you're dreaming if you think I am dying hereeee!"

There were still so many gachas I haven't whale'd yet!!

◇◇◇

I forgot how long I had been fighting.

After dealing with the first wave, I camped in the corner of the room as I continued to deal with them. For better or for worse, the goblins only continued to attack in a formation of five.

Regardless, it was a predicament. I had barely gotten used to dealing with 2 goblins at a time, so facing 5 of them together was hard. It didn't help that my weapons were unsuitable for the current situation, and my armor was not even subpar, allowing goblins to bite on unguarded places. It hurt like hell, but I somehow surpassed it.

Honestly, it was as if I had been fighting for an eternity, but it appeared I had barely defeated 13 of them judging from the magic stones lying on the ground. I didn't even know how long it will continue.

" " " "Gigyaahhh!!" " " "

Even though it hurt, I continued to move. I wasn't going to become goblin's food just yet.

"......Welcome to a thrilling and exciting meal time, eh? Pfft... not that I could laugh at my situation."

I couldn't help but recall a certain mascot from a mystery game. Sounds stupid to divert my focus, I know, but I had to do it for my heart or the reality before me was going to crush it.

Speaking of crushing, I also lost my wooden sword in between. Perhaps because I kept using it as a blunt weapon for bashing, at some point, it just snapped. Words couldn't explain how I felt when it happened.

Now, I was using the shovel I had obtained from «Friend Gacha». Of course, I got bitten by goblins while I was drawing it out, but it was better than fighting without weapons. And would you know, it was a rare item to boot. I was really fuming when I saw a rare drop being a freaking shovel, but now, I have to say it came quite handy as a weapon.

I had heard of how shovels were one of the weapons they'd used in the war in the past. I really thought that was so stupid. So I was quite surprised how well it came into use.

"You two, I am going to smash you together!"

" "Gigyah!" "

Woah, it really worked. But on the downside—

"*Huff*, *Huff*. Damn, my stamina is barely keeping up."

The goblins were closing up non-stop, giving me not a single moment of respite. And I was running out of breath now. Even if I had enhanced strength, my stamina was still limited after all. It was taking a toll now.

"Cut me some slack, I really want to make a bed here."

Man, how I wished «Friend Gacha» would've dropped some stamina potions too. Instead, all the potions I saw as rare drops only had health recovery medicine, nothing to replenish lost stamina.

The most frequent drops among all rare drops was «Seed of Growth», but I didn't even know what it does.

It was also unfortunate that among the other rare items from «Friend Gacha», I only got recovery

"Ugh, I think I am really in trouble this time......"

The only entrance was blocked by the goblins, the latter acting as a meat wall, so even if I had to take some risk, this wasn't it. I had no doubt I would be immediately trampled beneath them. After all, despite their child-like appearance, a group of 5 or 6 goblins was a serious threat at my level.

Besides, I was lightly armored. The last thing I wanted was them to chomp on my neck.

But, how long could I even keep fighting like that? It was obvious my stamina was at its last run. If I stay as it is, the scenario I wanted to avoid would still happen.

*Maybe, I really should take this gamble.* I steeled my resolve and turned to take action when—*BOOOM!*.

Out of nowhere, the door blasted open as if an explosive was set against it. Furthermore, the goblins that were acting like meat shields also rolled alongside the explosion.

"T-The hell.....?!"

Perplexed, I glanced toward the entrance and noticed a fox beastkin standing there.

"Does anyone need a helping hand?"
