The iron gates of the Vance estate didn’t swing open so much as they parted with a heavy, ominous glide, sliding back into the low stone piers that framed the entrance and sealed the property away from prying eyes; the chateau itself, with its two forward-sweeping wings, formed its own fortress.

The luxury sedan rolled forward, its tires humming over pale, smooth stone paving that stretched across a broad, perfectly symmetrical courtyard.

A few dark vehicles were already parked near the central fountain, their presence cold and silent.Full novel: Let’s Fight Fang And Claw! [BL] — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Kristen pressed his face flat against the passenger window, his breath fogging the glass as he caught his first real look at the palace that was to be his cage.

It wasn’t just a mansion.

It was a sprawling French chateau that commanded absolute, unyielding power under the midnight sky.

The estate rose three grand stories, shaped like a vast horseshoe wrapping around a beautifully illuminated circular drive.

At the heart of the loop sat a glowing stone water fountain, flanked by patches of vibrant green lawn.

The entire facade was bathed in an extensive system of golden up-lighting that washed over grand limestone arches, multiple wide balconies, and rows of pristine, dark glass windows.

Flanking the main structure, two symmetrical wings stretched out like security barriers, completely sealing the courtyard away from the outside world.

At the far front, where the wings ended, a black wrought-iron gate hung between two stone piers, its bars cold and unmanned—yet the sense of being watched was absolute.

Despite the warm, golden glow of the lighting, the property fel…lifeless.

To a wolf raised in the wild, chaotic pulse of the forest, the perfection of the estate was unnatural.

There was no wind rushing through the neatly manicured trees lining the perimeter.

There was no scent of damp grass, decayed leaves, or prey.

Instead, Kristen’s heightened sense of smell was immediately assaulted by a sterile, oppressive wave of heavy stone dust, expensive chemical glass cleaner, and the bitter, metallic tang of frozen iron.

It was a monument to the vampires’ supremacy—a predatory coven hiding their true, bloodthirsty nature behind the flawless mask of billionaire, high-society luxury.

The sedan came to a silent halt directly in front of the sweeping stone entrance steps.

The driver immediately stepped out and opened Kristen’s door.

Kristen hesitated for a single heartbeat, his claws reflexively sinking through the canvas strap of his weathered duffel bag.

His inner beast was pacing frantically beneath his skull, baring its teeth.

‘It’s a beautifully wrapped trap, Kristen.

Look at the sheer vastness of it.

There is no life here.

Just dust, death, and cages beneath the gold lights.

Do not step out of the car.’

We don’t have a choice, Kristen thought back, his jaw clenching as he forced the panic down.

If I don’t step out, he goes back for Scarlet.

Steeling his nerves, he slid out of the backseat.

The heavy thud of his combat boots against the cobblestones sounded deafening in the silence of the estate.

The night air hit his face—crisp, freezing.

Julian stepped out from the opposite side of the car, his movements fluid and effortless.

He walked around the hood of the sedan, his crimson eyes gleaming under the dim, recessed lighting as they anchored onto Kristen’s rigid form.

Julian stepped into his space, and his scent followed him—a chilling, elegant fragrance of expensive winter cologne, old parchment, and a faint, under-the-skin scent of bitter ash.

It was a dead man’s perfume, designed to mask the lack of a heartbeat.

“Welcome to the eastern wing, my dear Alpha,” Julian purred, gesturing lazily toward the massive, multi-story glass archway of the main entrance.

“I’ve had the entire wing cleared of staff for our arrival.

I figured a wild beast like you would appreciate a little room to pace without my staff watching your every move.”

“I am not a beast, Vance,” Kristen spat, his voice sounding rough against the silence.

He slung the duffel bag over his shoulder, refusing to let the vampire see how much the sheer, royal scale of the chateau was intimidating him.

The tall glass and iron doors unlocked with a heavy, automated click, swinging inward to reveal a cavernous foyer that continued the theme of polished marble and grand, vaulted ceilings.

They passed through a towering archway that led into a massive, modern kitchen.

Like the rest of the house, it was an expansive mix of seamless stainless steel appliances, dark quartz countertops, and clean, minimalist lines.

It looked completely unused and sterile.

Kristen felt a pang of longing, the pack usually gathered around the main square every night to dine.

It was optional, but many of the wolves come to let loose.

Kristen dropped his duffel bag heavily onto the floor near the kitchen island, the sound echoing sharply.

He leaned his palms against the cold quartz, his chest heaving slightly as the reality of his confinement began to wrap around his throat like a tight wire.

“Where is your father?” Kristen demanded, keeping his back turned to Julian.

“The contract said I was to meet the head of the clan upon arrival.”

“My father is currently attending to coven matters downtown,” Julian’s voice floated closer, the sound smooth and entirely devoid of footsteps.

“He will grace us with his presence tomorrow.

Tonight…

tonight you belong entirely to me.”

Kristen turned around quickly, his back pressing against the edge of the island.

He had meant to establish some distance, but he was a second too late.

Julian was already there.

The vampire prince had closed the gap between them with that dizzying, supernatural speed, boxing Kristen in before the wolf could even raise his hands to defend himself.

Julian placed his palms flat against on either side of Kristen’s hips, his long, pale arms forming an inescapable cage.

He leaned forward, his tailored suit jacket brushing against Kristen’s shirt, completely trapping the taller wolf against the counter.

Kristen froze, his breath catching in his throat.

Up close, the temperature drop was staggering.

Julian’s skin was radiating a localized chill that made Kristen’s muscles tense, but beneath that cold exterior was an oppressive, suffocating weight of absolute dominance.

“Back the fuck up, Vance,” Kristen growled, his golden eyes flaring to life in the dim light of the kitchen.

He brought his hands up, his palms flat against Julian’s chest to push him away, but it was like pushing against a solid marble statue.

The vampire didn’t budge an inch.

“Why so tense, my lovely bride?” Julian whispered, his crimson eyes smoldering with a hot, dark intensity that completely contradicted his icy skin.

He tilted his head, his gaze dropping deliberately to Kristen’s collarbone, where the top buttons of his shirt were undone.

“We are legally wedded by blood and ink.

There is no one here to interrupt us.

No angry pack mates to protect your fragile little pride.”

Julian leaned closer, his breath—smelling of sweet mint and bitter ash—brushing directly against the sensitive skin of Kristen’s neck.

He tilted his head, his sharp jawline mere millimeters away from Kristen’s throat.

“You smell absolutely intoxicating right now,” Julian murmured, his voice dropping into a low, predatory register that vibrated right through Kristen’s ribs.

“The fear has faded, but the anger…

the anger makes your blood run so incredibly hot.

I can feel the heat radiating off your skin, Alpha.

It’s like standing next to a furnace.

I wonder if you taste as sweet as you smell.”

Kristen’s heart hammered against his ribs like a frantic animal.

A sudden, violent rush of heat flooded his entire body—a confusing, terrifying sensation that was halfway between a murderous rage and a sudden, primal jolt of arousal. This story is hosted at novelping(.)com.

His inner wolf was howling, conflicted between the urge to tear Julian’s throat open and the terrifying instinct to submit to the intoxicating, dangerous scent of the apex predator pinning him down.

“I told you,” Kristen rasped, his gravelly voice sounding wrecked as he struggled to maintain his grip on his sanity.

“I am an Alpha.

I don’t submit to dead men.”

“You will,” Julian promised, a slow, wicked smirk curling his lips.

Julian shifted his weight, his knee boldly sliding between Kristen’s thighs, pressing firmly against his groin through their clothing.

The sudden, intimate friction sent a shocking jolt of heat straight to Kristen’s core, making his breath hitch in a sharp, involuntary gasp.

Before Kristen could violently shove him away, Julian reached up.

His pale, ice-cold fingers didn’t grab Kristen’s jaw this time; instead, they slid upward, his thumb and index finger boldly cupping the shell of Kristen’s left ear.

Kristen stiffened instantly, his entire body going completely rigid.

The moment Julian’s cold fingers brushed against the soft, highly sensitive fur at the tip of his ear, a devastating wave of pure, unadulterated electricity shot straight down his spine, completely paralyzing his muscles.

His golden eyes went wide, the pupils dilating into massive pools of molten lava, as a quiet, embarrassing whine threatened to escape his throat.

Julian’s eyes flared a brilliant, blinding crimson as he noticed the reaction.

The smirk on his face turned entirely victorious.

“Oh?

What is this?” Julian whispered sensually, his thumb deliberately caressing the sensitive edge of Kristen’s ear, rolling the skin between his fingers.

“S-Stop,” Kristen choked out, his hands losing their strength against Julian’s chest.

His legs felt suddenly weak, his body betraying him as the intense, hypersensitive pleasure-pain of the touch threatened to bring him to his knees.

The half-shift flared beneath his skin, the golden color of his eyes flickering rapidly, but he couldn’t gather enough focus to manifest his claws.

He was entirely at the vampire’s mercy.

“So, the proud, golden-eyed Alpha has a weakness,” Julian purred, his voice filled with a dark, bloodthirsty satisfaction.

He leaned in even closer, his lips brushing against the very ear he was holding, his sharp fangs grazing the sensitive lobe.

“How delicious.

I am going to use this to completely break you, Kristen.

I’m going to make you whine and beg for my touch, right here on this counter.”

Julian’s tongue slipped out, boldly licking the back of Kristen’s sensitive ear, tracing the delicate cartilage with an agonizing slowness.

Kristen let out a sharp, choked gasp, his head snapping back as his vision blurred.

His mind was spinning, his pride completely shattering under the weight of the raw, physical submission Julian was forcing out of him.

Julian’s hand slid down from his ear, his fingers tangling roughly into the dark strands of Kristen’s hair, forcing his head back even further to expose the long, inviting line of his throat.

Julian’s smoldering red eyes locked onto Kristen’s completely blown-out pupils, his own breath hitching as the sheer, suffocating heat of the wolf rolled over him.

“Let’s see how much an Alpha can handle before he completely loses his pride,” Julian growled softly, his thumb pressing hard against Kristen’s lower lip, forcing his mouth open.

Julian leaned down, looking taller in the dim lighting, his shadow completely swallowing Kristen as his cold lips finally pressed ruthlessly against Kristen’s hot, trembling mouth, his fangs grazing the wolf’s tongue.
