The heavy, gleaming gold bracelet and necklace shimmered with an enchanting glow under the moonlight.

Yu Miaomiao felt a twinge of guilt.

She had only dug up an urn and scattered the ashes—she’d already been given three days of life span. Was it really okay to take the deceased’s belongings too?Full novel: Life Extension! Orders Exploding! All My Bros Are My Top Supporters! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“It’s the deceased’s wish,” the Soul Ferryman persuaded her to accept them.

“She can’t take worldly possessions with her, and she didn’t want to leave them to her unfilial son.”

Well, if that was the case, she wouldn’t hold back…

Finally finishing all her tasks for the day, Yu Miaomiao rode her electric scooter back home.

As soon as she arrived, she rushed into the bathroom for a comfortable shower, completely forgetting that today was supposed to be the day she’d die while bathing.

Fortunately, the Soul Ferryman hadn’t lied—he really wasn’t taking her today.

The water heater worked just fine, without electrocuting her like a fish.

After her shower, wrapped in a towel, she walked into the living room and noticed the Soul Ferryman sitting on the sofa.

The two exchanged glances, neither paying much attention to the other.

With only three days left to live, there was no need to worry about which man she was living with.

Especially when that man was a ghost.

If Brother Gui really intended to take advantage of her, moving to another house wouldn’t solve the problem anyway.

Yu Miaomiao opened the fridge and grabbed a can of Sprite.

“Want one?”

The Soul Ferryman blinked. “Thank you.”

He actually drank it.

Out of pure curiosity, Yu Miaomiao couldn’t help but ask, “Do ghosts eat things from the mortal world too?”

“I’m a soul ferryman. I often travel between both worlds, so I can have a little.”

He opened the can, took a small sip, and savored it.

“Can I try snacks from the underworld then?”

“No, because you can’t see them.”

Unfair!

Well, never mind—she’d be able to try them soon enough anyway.

The two sat side by side on the sofa, one scrolling through her phone, the other lost in thought.

Before long, Yu Miaomiao yawned.

“I’m so sleepy. I’m going to bed first.”

The Soul Ferryman stood up as well. “I’m tired too. I have to guide eight souls tomorrow—another overtime shift.”

They both headed toward the bedroom at the same time.

Yu Miaomiao stopped in her tracks. “Um… could you make do with the sofa for a few days? I’ll be dead soon anyway.”

The Soul Ferryman glanced back at the small, one-and-a-half-meter sofa, then looked down at his own long legs.

“It’s fine. I’m already used to your snoring.”

Yu Miaomiao clenched her fists in protest.

“I don’t snore!”

“Not only do you snore, you also grind your teeth and talk in your sleep.”

“You like rolling all over the bed and often end up on top of me.”

He finished with a sigh of resignation.

Yu Miaomiao felt that the meaning of continuing to live wasn’t all that great anymore.

“I’ve just been too tired lately, that’s all!”

“I understand,” the Soul Ferryman nodded.

But wait—had they already been sleeping together for a long time?

“When did you move in here?”

The Soul Ferryman tilted his head in thought. “About half a month ago.”

It suddenly clicked. “There was a time when Maodou kept barking—was that you?”

“I bought him two cans of dog food. He’s pretty tight with me now.”

Two cans of dog food were all it took?

“Maodou!”

“Whimper…”

The little dog tucked its head and hid behind the Soul Ferryman.

Brother Gui had it tough too—even underworld workhorses were still workhorses. She couldn’t let him sleep poorly.

So, they might as well sleep together.

Yu Miaomiao lay down on the left side of the bed, and he lay down on the right.

His side of the bed showed no sign of sinking at all.

Thinking about it was truly sad—she hadn’t even been in love, and now she was about to die.

The only man she’d ever shared a bed with was the ghost who would soon guide her soul…

Even if he was a very handsome ghost, he was still a ghost.

Having failed so miserably in life, there really was no need to keep living.

Yu Miaomiao drew a big cross over her twenty-two years of brief existence in her heart.

Sleep now, no more thinking. Tomorrow she still had to rush to handle the aftermath…
