Assault!

Tumunomi Escaver looked at the woman and his face flushed with unbridled hate before he disappeared into the kitchen and found a kitchen serving trolley which he would use.

The boy then waited for the man who had been ahead to place the food on it.

While this man had been gone though, Tumunomi Escaver placed a bunch of cutlery unto the final layer of the kitchen serving trolley so it would not be seen.

When the man had returned, the boy tried a smile and the guy squinted his eyes but could not understand what was going on.

Sighing, he knelt low and spoke.

“I know you want contribution points.”

The guy shrugged as Tumunomi Escaver nodded with a forced smile.

Acting was not really his thing.

Anyways, he pushed the Kitchen Serving Trolley that had deserts on the top tray level, the main dish at the middle tray level and his cutlery at the very bottom.

He emerged ’o see his roommates who gave him a puzzled look but he looked away indifferently and visually found his target.

Then he walked slowly and cautiously.

“It’s an honor to see you guys, it is always a joy to see my hard work over the years produce such results.”

She took a long look around all of them.

“This establishment is older than even 1,000 years and I know you might not even believe that.”

She heard their collective gasp and continued.

“I won’t say the exact age because I really don’t want to bring speculation here.”

Tumunomi Escaver was still taking his measured steps as he neared and remembered what Derek had told him.

When you have a definite objective, you want to clear your head enough to do it but don’t be too focused that your reflexes don’t remain rigid.

Walking forth, he isolated the lady speaking and only saw the people behind her as those were the only threats in his range of view.

“When this Institution began, I recall having so many goals.

I could see everything right now the way I saw it in my head back then.

Please,” she raised her hands and clapped, “let us applaud our hard working staff.”

The claps rose In number as Jacob, Andrew, Jake, John and Peter frowned to themselves.

“She just said the institution was older than a 1,000 years so how was she there back then?”

Jacob said what was going through everyone’s mind around him, but they could not answer because the were just as confused.

The rest of the kids knew that carefully selected food was coming for the next week or however long she was staying.

So, none of then really cared.

However, Mrs.

Rose Marilyn gaze lingered on Tumunomi Escaver’s roommates as she saw that them listen to Jacob which she looked at a but longer before returning her eyes to the person speaking and her boss.

Tumunomi Escaver was now 15 meters away from her

“So, soon we will be eating.” The children clapped louder and smiled brighter.

“But before we begin I want Mrs.

Marilyn to tell me a bit of the things they have learnt and the person with the best answer will get something goooooood.”

The applause rang heartily as Tumunomi Escaver had picked his speed so he was now 10 meters away from her.

The lady pointed to one of the many kids raising their hands up to be picked

He was now 8 meters from her.

“I learnt that we should all have food manners.”

The lady paused, then smiled and nodded.

“That was very good, anyone else?”

Tumunomi Escaver was now 6 meters away from her.

“Me, me, me, me ,me.”

The Lady swung her pointed finger around as if enjoying their hunger for her attention.

“You.”

Tumunomi Escaver was now 4 meters away.

“I learnt tha-“

“HAH!”

His shout was really loud as the selected boy was given a chance to speak just as he kicked the Kitchen Serving Trolley with force so that it reached the lady’s feet.

And the woman raised her hands to stop one of the people behind her from intercepting the Kitchen Serving Trolley as it bumped into her shins and then tilted up, scattering the dessert, the main dish and the knives all about.

Tumunomi Escaver was running closely behind and stepped on the Kitchen Serving Trolley as if it were a ramp after grabbing a knife from the air.

Is this woman… smiling?…

Anyways, his hands were arced above his back and his snarl held a hate that should not be on the face of a child.

PAH!

It was out of luck that her hand which now caught of his wrists his did not break it out of impact.

“What is your name, child?”

Mid squirming, the orphan growled.

“I am-“

His caught hand dropped the knife to the other and launched it forward.

“Tumunomi…”

She caught the other hand too.

So, he used them to launch a double kick which she casually slapped away.

“…ESCAVER!!!”

He landed on a floor littered with the many knives he had spilled and jumped to attack her again.

But this time, she simply side stepped and knocked him out by the neck.

Jacob, Jake, Andrew, Ivan, John and Peter looked on with open mouths.

Silence was supreme, even before the woman spun on the spot to kick his body into Mrs.

Marilyn’s Arms.

“So where were we?” Her voice sounded all in their ears and generally at the same time, the peculiar shout zipped all attention back to her.

“You there, you were about to say something.”

“I – I- I forgot ma’am.”

She sighed.

“Anyways, the extra point is still up.

You will be given special treatment.”

Hands shot back up into the air as Jacob shared a look with his roommates.

Later that evening, the roommates went to the kitchen to cool as usual.

“Come back tomorrow,” someone stopped them at the door.

“But I enjoyed the food!”

Ivan looked as if he wanted to cry.

“Well, the boss is around so you will be fine on that end.

Hey are you trying to insult our usual cooking???”

“No, we love it.” John slapped the back of Ivan’s head.

“We love it very much we…”

“We just hoped that we would not be punished because of our roommate.”

“Oh, no.

Well, I mean he made her dirty her hands.”

“Dirty her hands?”

Jacob frowned at the guy and the guy actually found it hard to speak but Jacob quickly hid his glare and then made his eyes go red and wet.

“How could she attack Tumunomi Escaver like that?

It’s not the first time he is doing such things we in this orphanage need a little more love.”

The man shook in confusion then his hand patted the top of the boy’s head.

“Its all right, it’s all right.” He saw that the other kids had started crying too before finally running into the kitchen.

“Wait here.”

10 minutes passed and he brought out several lunchboxes.

“Have these, eat it once you get upstairs but bring it back tomorrow before breakfast, okay?”

“Thank you sir,” Jacob wiped his eyes with the back of his hand and turned around where his expression dropped to one of indifference.

He had gotten so much information that it was terrifying.

Tumunomi Escaver was going to have some serious repercussions from what he did.

The Owner of his place was very sinister.

She had said that the orphanage had thrived for long, which meant that he could not handle her.

Should he contact them?…

…they would tell him things that would piss him off…

He sighed as he also realized that Tumunomi Escaver was going to face the backlash of someone who had a black heart.

It was one thing to say he dirtied her hands.

But it was the other way around, and it had been said with so much passion as the cook had been angry.

From the fact he man had also sought to justify it, he must see it as some self righteous anger for Tumunomi Escaver’s stunt.

There was much more to Spencer’s school than what was on the surface and Jacob would have to discover it all.

Maybe the next time, he would join Tumunom-

“When will we see him again?”

They had just walked through their door and Peter rushed up to them.

“Don’t worry, it will be fine.”

Jacob’s eyes flickered as he began creating plans.

At the highest floor, a door was at the top of the staircase that was usually never opened all year round, someone ran towards it and passed some glowing energy from his hands and unto its surface where he waited for 30 minutes before he almost crumpled to the floor by the time a soft clink resounded.

His arrival made lights turn on and the spray of aromatic scents scatter into the administrative space after a gust of wind scattered any trifling dust into windows that timely opened and shut themselves.

Inside was a room enough to house 50 people, an ornate desk made of impressive wood with a few golden awards in different shapes and forms which rimmed its sides.

The leather part of the tables top had paper neatly arranged behind it was a chair with a back rest at least 2 meters.

The walls bent several times as if it formed a broken ‘C’ and windows were in every part streaming in night light that gave a view of buildings lights and muted activity

From the bottom of the stairs – outside – 10 more attendants had rushed right in to once more wipe away dust and arrange what needed be.

Farther behind on the stairs were people carrying a rectangle box.

And when they finally stepped into the room, they dropped it to the ground.

“Hey, be careful.”

“Why, isn’t it his fault?

Serves him right.”

The lady he spoke to frowned before promptly resuming her work.

One of the edges of the walls had a c hair with straps where they transferred Tumunomi Escaver’s cocooned body to and kept him uncomfortably tight.
