Seeing from his special perspective that his things were already in the other person’s hands, he felt that trying to take them back by force would be awkward for both sides.

So, despite being unaccustomed to this sudden goodwill, Lin Qiye chose to accept it.

“The green light is on, are you sure you don’t need to hold onto the corner of my shirt?” Feeling the pure goodwill that Luciel radiated toward the weak, Lin Qiye still felt uncomfortable.

However, sensing that this youth was very concerned that he might fall into a ditch because he wasn’t looking at the road, Lin Qiye, after a brief hesitation, silently reached out and accurately pinched the corner of Luciel’s shirt.

After all, on such a hot day, what kind of heat-resistant person could wear two layers of clothing?

Lin Qiye could “see” that after he pinched the corner of the other person’s shirt, the slight worry between the other’s brows quickly vanished, replaced by pure goodwill.

“You still haven’t said where you live.” Luciel asked again, even though he knew Lin Qiye lived in the Old District; they were even neighbors.

“I live over in the Old District.

If it’s not on your way, you can give me the things, I can go there myself.” While answering, Lin Qiye made a weak struggle; quite independent, huh.

Luciel didn’t care about this struggle at all, choosing instead to pivot directly, asking with some surprise: “Do you know Wang Fang, Aunt Wang?” “That’s my Aunt, do you know each other?” Hearing Luciel’s words, Lin Qiye’s first reaction was not surprise, but rather a sense of vigilance.

Suddenly hearing such things from a stranger, it was hard for him not to be wary.

Luciel acted as if he didn’t see Lin Qiye’s expression at all, instead smiling even more brightly.

“We are neighbors living across from each other.

Aunt Wang has helped me a lot in the past, and I often heard her mention that she had a nephew, but I return very late on Saturdays and Sundays.

Although I get time off occasionally, it seems I haven’t seen you.” Mentioning this, Lin Qiye also recalled the neighbor across the hall that his Aunt mentioned from time to time.

She said he was a pitiful child who dropped out of school early to enter society, was introverted, and didn’t see many people.

Aunt would occasionally cook extra dishes and send them to the neighbor, saying that the child across the hall would also often buy some vegetables or meat and leave them at their doorstep.

Although they didn’t speak much, the two families had surprisingly frequent interactions.

Half the credit for the meat they could eat at home belonged to the neighbor across the hall.

However, this wasn’t strange.

Wang Fang’s salary wasn’t actually very low, and she often worked overtime, but because Lin Qiye often had to pay fees at the Psychiatric Hospital of Gods, and her own child was still in school—where tuition and stationery costs were things you couldn’t skimp on according to traditional concepts—plus she was the only breadwinner in her family, there were too many places where money was needed, leading to them always being strapped for cash.

Luciel was completely different.

Although he occasionally sent some money back to the orphanage hoping to improve the lives of those children, and hoped that more money would allow those children to read more books, the head of the orphanage insisted on not accepting more money, saying that the original body had already suffered enough while out in the world and should take good care of himself.

The head wasn’t so stubborn as to refuse money from the children outside even if they were starving, but mostly they accepted government subsidies.

The money the children gave back was just a token of their hearts; one couldn’t make oneself a burden to those children.

Therefore, Luciel, who lived alone, could often take out things as a return gift.

In fact, because he could often receive large portions of prepared dishes, Luciel could keep them in the fridge and not have to cook for himself for two or three days.

Apart from the first time he returned a gift, the original body also started this mutual care between the two sides with the idea of being a bit lazy.

After all, Wang Fang herself was a simple and honest person who didn’t think about taking advantage of others, just feeling that the interactions between the two sides were all about friendship.

She would cook dishes and return a portion to Luciel, who looked very tired.

Most importantly, the original body looked quite pitiful to the outside world at that time.

Of course, Lin Qiye didn’t know about the various coincidences and misunderstandings in all of this.

He just had a natural affinity for the Luciel described by Wang Fang, and most of this affinity came from the fact that his Aunt and cousin’s lives had become easier because of Luciel.

However, Lin Qiye “watched” the bright and radiant Luciel.

He remembered that his Aunt had indeed said the neighbor across the hall looked like an introverted child who was a bit starved for love, but the one in front of him didn’t look very introverted at all; he had more of the charm of a social terrorist-style home invader.

However, due to their different experiences—one spending most of his time in the Psychiatric Hospital of Gods and special schools, while the other started working after finishing junior high—there wasn’t much they could talk about.

The journey wasn’t lively, but Luciel would occasionally help the various uncles, Aunts, grandpas, and grandmas on the roadside with small tasks.

Regarding this, while Lin Qiye sighed that Luciel was a good person, he was even more puzzled: could such a person really be introverted?

In the old building, one could see the bricks and tiles within the wall plaster.

Various facilities looked like they had some years on them, all giving people the illusion that as long as they dared to use them, they could break down in the next second.

The two, one after the other, arrived in the sunset at the building that looked like it had some age to it, returning to the door that hadn’t been opened for more than a week.

“Thank you.” Lin Qiye thanked him again and sighed from the bottom of his heart that Luciel was truly a warm-hearted and attentive person.

Along the way, Luciel had been even more careful than him in watching the road, deliberately avoiding those potholes or unstable floor tiles.

This care was clearly conveyed to Lin Qiye.

“It’s nothing, if you need anything, you can come find me.” Luciel smiled, returned the things to Lin Qiye, then turned to open his own door and went inside.

Until he returned to his own small room, which was kept quite cozy, the smile on the corners of Luciel’s mouth could finally no longer be suppressed, and he burst into silent laughter.

The Prayer of Light had received decent digestion and would soon be completely digested.

It was just that Lin Qiye hadn’t actually encountered any real trouble, just had his burden lightened.

Otherwise, based on the status inferred from the current digestion progress, Lin Qiye could definitely digest the Sequence 8 potion in one go.

As expected, going out has its perks!

It might not seem tempting right now but who knows what the future holds?

“And If you’re enjoying it, drop a Power Stone for me!”
