Han Lin didn’t slip out through the window until the early hours of the next morning. Before leaving, he apologetically took Jiang Yingxiao’s bedsheet with him, promising to return it after washing it.

The girl heard the noise and sat up, nodding drowsily in her sleep. She rolled over following the rhythm of him pulling the sheet, then passed out again.

In her daze, she felt the man kissing her belly several times. By the time she woke up, Chi Yubai was already waiting for her downstairs.Full novel: Love Game NPC Forced into Horror Game Heartthrob — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Lately, whenever he was preparing for a Mission, he would make a detour to drop her off at her workplace.

Jiang Yingxiao was still preoccupied with the special ability she had just learned. After walking in silence for a while, she tugged at the man’s pinky and led him to the side of the road, mysteriously urging him to lower his head.

The accumulated snow crunched under their leather boots, leaving behind two pairs of footprints—one large, one small—pressed closely together.

“What is it?” Chi Yubai lowered his eyelids, the shadow of his long lashes falling beneath his eyes. His expressionless face looked even colder against the snowy backdrop.

“Look at this.”

The girl curled her lips into a smile and opened her palm, focusing intently. After a few seconds, a small stream of spring water suddenly spurted out.

Since it was her first attempt and she hadn’t yet mastered control, she accidentally splashed water all over her face. Droplets froze into ice crystals on her curled black lashes, and her crimson lips trembled from the cold.

She shook her head, sending droplets flying onto the man’s Combat Uniform.

The pitch-black high-necked bodysuit darkened a shade where the water soaked in, clinging tightly to his skin and clearly outlining the contours of his chest.

“Sorry about that.” Jiang Yingxiao turned and saw this, apologetically patting the wet spot. Instead of improving, her damp hand nearly dried off on his clothes.

So cute.

She’s clearly just wiping her hand but pretending to care about me.

A low chuckle rumbled in Chi Yubai’s throat as he pressed down on her slender, pale fingers, which were boldly causing trouble. The girl felt the vibration of his pectoral muscles against her palm as he spoke.

“So my baby has awakened a Water-type ability. So impressive—how did you manage it?”

Just a few days ago, this Chi Yubai was still calling her “sister” or “little sister,” but today he’s switched to “baby.”

However, the magnanimous Jiang Yingxiao, hearing words she liked, decided to let slide his inconsistent terms of endearment. She raised her hand and conjured another perfect water sphere, which froze into an ice block and dropped to the ground.

“It’s really simple,” she said cautiously, omitting the part about kissing someone else, her voice light and airy. “Han Lin just showed me a little, I took one look, and I learned it.”

After speaking, her sparkling eyes curved slightly as she looked at him, her head held high and proud, like a cat by the lakeside in the pre-apocalyptic world that had just caught a fish with its paw.

“So amazing,” Chi Yubai stroked her ego, unsurprised to see her adorable little fangs peeking from the corners of her lips. Then he casually shifted the topic. “But when did you meet Han Lin? I haven’t heard you mention him before.”

So familiar, even exchanging names already. Who knows what shady methods that man used.

“We just met yesterday.”

[They just kissed yesterday, baby is so cute 【Donation 10 Points】]

[This Chi Yubai isn’t even the main love interest, right? Why is he acting all sour like someone stole his girl? Even I, the legitimate husband, haven’t lost my cool.]

Upon hearing this, Chi Yubai closed his eyes briefly, his expression tightening. However, his facial changes were never very noticeable to begin with, so it went completely unnoticed by the other party.

The girl’s lowered hands quickly grew cold in the wind, so he naturally took them and tucked them into his coat pockets. Then he lifted the other hand, examining it carefully.

Her palms held traces of undried water droplets, and the pads of her fingers were flushed red from the inside out. It was unclear whether it was due to the cold weather or because they had been scraped raw by the rough tongues of zombies a few days earlier.

“Mhm, I know,” he responded softly, leaning down to gently lick away the sweet moisture that had seeped from her skin. “The wounds haven’t healed yet. Let big brother help disinfect them for you again.”

Special abilities were truly wonderful things. As soon as Jiang Yingxiao demonstrated her water-based ability, she was immediately assigned to a treatment position, and her salary rose accordingly.

With Chi Yubai leading the team on missions outside, daytime work was scarce, leaving the entire treatment room vast and empty.

The girl had two crystal cores tucked in her pocket, the corners of her lips slightly upturned as she sat obediently at her workstation, pondering what to have for dinner. Her heels tapped restlessly on the floor, tracing circles left and right, the sound of her boots hitting the floorboards making a soft pat-pat rhythm.

The moment Xiao Bating entered the room, his eyes landed on the Supernatural Ability User seated at her post. Like a dog wagging its tail, he eagerly approached her, a foolish grin spreading across his lips without him even realizing it.

“Jiang Yingxiao? What are you doing here?”

A deep, long gash from a zombie’s claw marred his shoulder, darkening as if on the verge of mutation, yet he acted as if nothing were wrong, blowing away a stray strand of hair that had fallen before his eyes, his handsome features now exposed to the air.

“You big fool,” the girl scolded softly, reaching out to grasp his tanned forearm, where veins stood out prominently.

Even being scolded made him happy, his chapped lips cracking further with new wounds. “So this is your special ability? It’s amazing.”

Jiang Yingxiao had been praised by many for her abilities and had long grown immune to such compliments. She patted the hand holding hers, signaling for him to sit down.

The man dragged a chair over, leaning forward unconsciously. With just a slight bow of his head, he could rest his nose against her soft hair, breathing in the faint, elusive fragrance in the air, his thoughts beginning to wander.

Even if she really had some connection with Chi Yubai, so what? Chi Yubai was just an NPC in this Instance, while he could easily take Jiang Yingxiao out with him.

There had been precedents of NPCs becoming Players before. If he could leave with her, he would spend all his Points to keep her in the game lobby.

That way, she wouldn’t have to come to such eerie and terrifying Instances anymore.

But… if he spent too much time in Instances, a girl as innocent as her might be tricked or taken advantage of if left alone at home.

“Now, I need to treat you. Open your mouth.”

Xiao Bating heard the voice and instinctively followed the instruction. Before his brain could process the thought further, something soft and damp pressed against his lips.

Jiang Yingxiao’s fair, delicate face loomed close, her rounded nose brushing against his rough skin, sending tingling sensations through him like an electric shock.

Damn, I’m hard.

The man’s already flushed face grew even hotter, rendering him speechless. All his focus centered on that single point of contact on his lower lip, where she nibbled gently like a small animal. It didn’t hurt—just tingled.

Other places tingled too.

[076, why isn’t it working?]

[You could try another method, baby.]

After kissing for a while without gaining any special ability, Jiang Yingxiao frowned unhappily.

The man had been watching her expression closely and, thinking he had hurt her with his roughness, panicked and pulled back slightly. His large hand cupped her cheek as he panted heavily.

“Why did you suddenly kiss me?” The man spoke, but his mind kept replaying the sensation from moments before.

His lips were so soft; the rest of him must be the same.

Jiang Yingxiao maintained a serious expression. “Don’t talk nonsense. I was treating you.”

As a Water-type ability user, she could heal others’ wounds with just water. She had clearly been transferring precious life essence to him, never expecting him to misunderstand her benevolent intentions as a healer.

Xiao Bating was momentarily stunned, then pursed his dry lips and willingly opened his mouth. “Then save me again.”

[My wife is truly the most generous player in the Horror Game—she could easily save two people at once, one above and one below.]

[Wife, I’m sick too. My whole body feels uncomfortable, especially this inexplicable lump of flesh below my abdomen. I wonder if there’s still hope for me.]

[If you’re itchy, can’t you just use your hand? Why trouble my baby with such a small matter? Already doxxed—someone will come to your door later to cut it off.]

[Doxxing is terrifying!]

“Alright then.” Jiang Yingxiao pretended to be reluctant, recalling Han Lin’s movements from the previous night. She opened her mouth, offering her moist little tongue, only to have it instantly captured.

Xiao Bating’s mouth was warm too, his large, scorching tongue swirling around hers, exploring everywhere.

[Congratulations, Player 23411, you have obtained a fire-based supernatural ability, complete with attack effects.]

[Side quest progress updated: (2/5).]

So, you had to lick the tongue to gain the ability.

This Xiao Bating seemed dishonest, and his hands were no better. As they kissed, he stood up, his thick arms resting on the table as he groped her waist, slowly moving upward.

Jiang Yingxiao shivered from the ticklish sensation, slapping his hands away several times before finally pushing the shameless dog aside. Unhappy, she withdrew her tongue.

The man still gazed at her dazedly, his words carrying a warm breath. “Baby, your saliva is so sweet.”

I wonder if there’s more to drink.

“Why hasn’t Xiao Bating come out yet? It feels like he’s been in there for half an hour.”

“Don’t tell me he’s enjoying the water too much. These fire-based ability users just can’t control themselves—always clamoring for water… I wonder if baby has enough water for him to drink.”

“You’re calling her ‘baby’ too? Keep it down, or Chi Yubai might hear and feed you to the Zombies.”

“Haven’t you secretly called her that too?”

The young man standing outside the treatment room sheepishly closed his mouth, staring blankly at the wooden door as he counted the seconds.

Of course, he had called her that countless times in his heart, but her gaze had never once fallen upon him. Even when he tore his shirt into strips, flaunting his muscles in front of her all day, he never earned her favor.

The sound of combat boots echoed from behind. The young man turned around, his heart racing with fear.

Chi Yubai, whom they had just been discussing, stood behind him, his expression icy as he looked over, a faint twitch visible at his temple. It was unclear whether he had overheard their conversation.

“What are you all doing here?”

Han Lin, who had just returned from a mission with the team, happened to be standing nearby. Seeing the group lingering outside the treatment room, he paused for a moment before gathering a ball of water in his palm and sprinkling it over them.

The minor injuries they had worked so hard to sustain instantly healed. With no excuse left to linger, they gritted their teeth and left.

The man stepped forward and knocked lightly on the door, his voice gentle. “It’s time to eat. Let’s go back.”

There was no response from inside.

Chi Yubai frowned, stepped forward, and pushed the door open. Before him appeared a scene strikingly similar to the one from a few days earlier.

Xiao Bating knelt on the floor with his back to the doorway, his pants pulled taut. The girl in front of him covered her mouth and slapped him. When she lowered her hand, the crimson hue of her lips was just visible.

As if she had been kissed fiercely.
