Li Yeli did not sleep again after that.
She sat quietly by the window until dawn, staring blankly outside as darkness slowly faded into morning light.
Her mind felt exhausted.
Heavy.
The nightmare.
Mo Ruyi.
The knife.
Everything replayed repeatedly inside her head until irritation slowly replaced fear.
By sunrise, she had already changed clothes.
If she stayed inside the Li residence any longer, she felt she might actually suffocate.
So she left.
And headed straight for Yunjing Tower.
Yunjing Tower.
“Excuse me, miss? Miss!” An employee hurried forward and blocked Li Yeli’s path.
“Where are you going?”
“I’m here to see your boss,” Li Yeli replied plainly.
“No.”
The employee forced out a professional smile.
“Then I’m afraid you’ll need to book one first.”
Li Yeli tilted her head slightly.
“If I book now,” she asked softly, “when will I see him?”
The employee stiffened slightly at her gaze.
“I-in about two months…”
Yu Yang was not someone ordinary people could casually meet.
Even appointments were difficult to obtain.
Unless the person was important enough.
Li Yeli’s expression darkened slightly.
Then she simply walked toward the front desk and leaned lazily against it.
The employee blinked.
“…Miss?”
“I’ll wait.”
The employee became stunned.
“No matter how long it takes,” Li Yeli added calmly.
Half an hour later-
“Miss, when exactly are you leaving?”
“When I see your boss.”
“I already explained everything!” the employee snapped.
“If you continue causing trouble, I’ll have security remove you!”
Remove her?
She wasn’t an item.
“I’m not leaving.” Li Yeli stubbornly persisted.
“Please get out!”
“What is going on here?” A deep cello-like voice suddenly echoed through the lobby.
The employee immediately turned pale.
“President Yu!”
Yu Yang walked forward slowly, his cold gaze sweeping across the scene.
The employee hurriedly explained, “I-I already informed this lady that she needs an appointment booked two months in advance, but she refuses to leave-”
Yu Yang frowned slightly.
“And you raised your voice at her?”
