One wall features a large, integrated display that could instantly transform from a global market tracker to a high-definition video conferencing screen.

The lightening there was more focused, designed for productivity, yet it retained the same soft glare free quality found throughout the penthouse.

The office was not merely a place of work; it is a statement.Full novel: Love Me… or Kill Me — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

It embodies clarity vision and an unmatched perspective, a tangible representation of the power and ambition housed within paradise peak.

“Have a seat, Miss.” Yena said, while gesturing politely.

Li Yeli sat comfortably.

“What would you like? Water? Juice? Tea?” Yena asked.

“Why is his office way up here?” Li Yeli met her eyes.

Yena was stunned by her question.

“Err…I…think you’re going to have to ask President Yu…I don’t…really know.”

You’re weird but Thank you!

Thank you!

Thank you!

Thank you!!!

Because of you I’m able to enjoy the privilege of entering paradise peak!

Yena had been working with Yunjing group for about four years yet this was her second time in paradise peak.

“Not just anyone could enter paradise peak, miss.” Yena sighed, “President Yu personally said for you to wait in his office! You must be a very special person, Miss?”

Hoping to get information from Li Yeli, she grinned.

Hm…I’m sure you’re the lady boss.

Yena patiently waited for Li Yeli’s response, but was immediately disappointed when the latter responded with a “Hm.”

Yena persisted, “Are you…”

“Ms. Yena. I see you have a lot of free time.”

A calm voice emerged from behind them.

Yena instantly stiffened.

“S-Secretary Linda…” She quickly lowered her head respectfully before stepping aside.

Li Yeli turned slightly.

The woman standing at the entrance looked to be in her late twenties, dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit that emphasized her sharp and capable aura.

Her expression was professional, yet not cold.

“Hello, Miss Li.” She walked forward gracefully.

“I’m Linda, President Yu’s secretary.”

She had specifically been sent by Yu Yang to keep Li Yeli company and make sure she did not feel bored while waiting for him.

Yena immediately understood.

President Yu truly cared about this woman. Get faster updates on g.com.

“I’ll take my leave first,” Yena said carefully before hurrying out of the office.

The moment the door closed behind her, Linda finally allowed herself a proper look at Li Yeli.

Beautiful.

Not the aggressively glamorous kind, but the sort that quietly stole attention without trying.

Calm eyes, proper posture, effortless elegance…

She was definitely different from the Li Yeli she knew.

“Would you like me to prepare anything else for you, Miss Li?” Linda asked politely.

Li Yeli shook her head lightly.

“No.”

Linda nodded and stood quietly nearby.

The office returned to silence once more.

Li Yeli leaned back against the chair, her gaze drifting toward the enormous glass wall ahead of her.

From this height, the city no longer looked noisy or crowded.

Everything beneath seemed distant…small.

Li Yeli didn’t understand why Yu Yang liked this place.

Was it because it was high enough to detach himself from the world?

Her eyes wandered lazily across the office again before landing on the shelves behind the desk.

Rare books.

Awards.

Documents.

A few strange artifacts she couldn’t recognize.

Then—

Her gaze paused.

A framed photograph.

Li Yeli narrowed her eyes slightly.

That person in the picture looked young, colder, and far less approachable than the Yu Yang she knew now.

Standing beside him was an older man whose expression carried undeniable authority.

“His father,” Linda suddenly explained from the side after noticing where she was looking.

Li Yeli looked at her.

“President Yu respects him greatly.”

Li Yeli hummed softly before looking away again.

Linda smiled.

This was the first time Yu Yang had ever allowed someone directly into Paradise Peak…into his private office.

And…

Li Yeli looked completely unimpressed by everything around her. Get faster updates on g.com.

Almost as though she genuinely did not care.

At that moment—

Linda’s thoughts were cut off by the sound of approaching footsteps.

Turning around, she saw Yu Yang.

Instantly, her eyes widened.

“President Yu? What are you—what happened to the meeting?”

“Rescheduled.”

One word.

Just one word was enough to send Linda almost panicking.

“You…!” Linda squeezed her eyes shut.

“Months…we have been waiting for this opportunity for months…we finally got it and you—”

“Are you certain you’re the secretary? You sound more like the boss.” Li Yeli pointed out.

Yu Yang coldly met Linda’s eyes.

She cleared her throat, “Apologies President Yu…I’ll be leaving now.” She walked out.

When the office was finally quiet.

Yu Yang looked at Li Yeli, “You waited long?”

She looked up at him lazily.

“A little.”

Yu Yang frowned slightly.

He loosened his tie with one hand, but before another gesture–

Li Yeli swiftly stood up and walked to him, “Mo Ruyi wants to kill me.” She said in her thick voice.

He frowned, “What happened?”

“I woke up this morning and found her beside me with a knife.”

Yu Yang narrowed his eyes.

“What? If not my life then what does she want beside my bed with a knife?” she stared back extremely at him.

His expression darkened.

“Move into my house.”

Li Yeli speechlessly stared at him.

“Then move out of there, you’re not safe there.”

“You think I don’t want to?” Li Yeli ley out a quite sigh before returning to her seat.

She badly wanted to see herself move out of that house.

Mo Ruyi.

Aecon Li.

Li Yue.

She never wanted to see anyone of them again.
