Susu suddenly sat up and quickly walked to the bathroom. She turned on the light and looked down to see a dark red patch, with a few drops of bright red blood still dripping between her legs. The bleeding soon stopped, but the heavy feeling in her lower abdomen felt like a hand slowly tightening inside her body, refusing to let go.
She remembered Xiao Fei telling her this morning that Chen Ming was also in Yanqing for team building this weekend. In a panic, she called Chen Ming: "Can you drive me to the hospital? I'm not feeling well."
Chen Ming arrived quickly and called her to come out. After the two of them met, Chen Ming said, "It's hard to park around here. My car is parked a little further ahead."
Susu asked with a crying voice, "Can you carry me there? I think I might be having a miscarriage."

Chen Ming first took her to a local hospital in Yanqing. The doctor on duty looked at her bleeding and abdominal pain and said to Chen Ming, "Hurry and take her to a major hospital in Beijing."
Chen Ming acknowledged, turned to the nurse's station to buy a pillow. After carrying Susu to the car, he placed the pillow under her and fastened her seatbelt.
He didn't dare to stop along the way. Upon arriving in Beijing, he drove directly to the emergency entrance of a top-tier hospital. After the examination, the doctor quickly reached a conclusion: the fetus could not be saved and surgery was needed as soon as possible.
Chen Ming asked Susu to call Xin Che, but she shook her head: "It's already like this, there's no need to involve him." Not long after daybreak, the surgery was completed.
On Sunday evening, Susu had not returned home for a long time, and there was no news from her all day. When her calls went unanswered, Xin Che grew increasingly uneasy and called Susu's close colleague from the same team. Susu's colleague said, "She said yesterday evening that she wasn't feeling well and was picked up. We all thought you picked her up."

Chen Ming reached out and took the phone. He walked out of the hospital room and briefly explained Susu's miscarriage to Xin Che.
Xin Che urgently asked, "Which hospital are you at?"
Chen Ming replied, "She's been crying all day and just stopped for a bit. Your call made her start crying again. Give her some time to calm down. I'll take care of her at the hospital, and when she's discharged tomorrow, I'll send her back to you."
Xin Che said, "Thank you. Can you have her say a word to me?"
Chen Ming handed the mobile phone back to Susu.
Susu adjusted her breathing and said with a thick nasal voice, "I just requested a week's leave from the manager. If it's convenient for you, please say hello to him." After speaking, she hung up the phone.
Chen Ming took a day off to take care of Susu at the hospital. On Monday evening, Xin Che received a message from Xiao Fei: "Susu wants to stay with me for a few days. Chen Ming just brought her over. Come pick her up in a few days when she's more emotionally stable."
A moment later, Xin Che received a text message from an unknown number: "Hello, this is Chen Ming. Would you be available to meet tomorrow evening?"
