Jason did not remember when or how he fell asleep, one minute he is splashing his sister and brother-in-law at the lake, next, he is in the prone position on a snow-topped mountain with a fairy hivering over his left ear.
His vision was enhanced so much so that the castle about 1500 meters ahead was clearly visible.
He was able to zoom in, zoom out, and even utilize a heat image of inside the castle.
Jason focused his hearing as well, enhancing it well enough to hear what was occurring inside the castle.
Jason focused one more ability, he found it easier to concentrate on simultaneous abilities today, too bad he didn’t feel this way when battling Fenris, he might not have been a dragon chewtoy for a few seconds.
Jason was able to telepathically communicate with Fenris without losing sight or hearing.
“Fenris, I am observing the castle.” Jason communicated without speaking.
“Jason, what a useful talent you’ve found.” “Yeah, mindset really changes the way I perform.
Sure wish you’d have told me!” Jason joked.
“What are you seeing?” “They look like they’re getting ready for something.” Jason said, watching as man, beast, and combination stocked weapons and supplies into carriages and bags.
“We may be shorter on time than originally thought.” Fenris sounded worried.
“I am looking at what I think is the King and Queens chamber.
They aren’t there.” Jason said.
“They are like you, Jason, they may not even be in this world right now.” “Good point.” Jason thought, “If they aren’t here, maybe I should make a move to delay their plans.” “Don’t put yourself in harms way, Jason.
You’re too valuable.” “Don’t worry, I won’t do anything stupid.” Jason closed the communication loop.
Jason zoomed his vision further, scanning every place within the castle to verify the King amd Queen weren’t there before performing his next action.
Confirmation obtained, Jason immediately assumed a kneeling position, eyes glowing bright red as he held his hands up.
The fairy beside him spoke softly, unmistakably human female voice with the same nature based sounds forming words.
“What are you going to do?” She asked.
“Relax, Faye, I’m only disrupting then leaving.” Jason said, his voice noticeably more thunderous as his eyes glowed.
In the distance, just above the castle, dark clouds began forming, swirling, and blocking out the sunlight over it.
Jason’s eyes started radiating that same red, but now they were sparking.
Lightning rained down on the castle, destroying walls and causing the inhabitants to scatter.
No help there, fire began raining down in sheets, like a monsoon of flame and lightning.
Faye watched as Jason brought controlled chaos down on the castle.
He clearly knew what he was doing.
Jason turned his attention to the mountain over the castle now, ending the storm over the castle and conjuring a large ball of flame in his right hand, hurling it with lightning speed into the side of the mountain, bringing down an avalanche that buried the castle in snow, ice, and rock.
Jason vanished into a red cloud after the destruction was finished, appearing in the clearing directly in front of Fenris, who no longer held the book.
“That’s was fast, Jason.” Fenris was delighted.
“Told you I wouldn’t do anything stupid.” Fenris looked at Jason, “You did.” Jason walked toward Daphis, who was still standing by the bush.
“You look different, Daphis.” “She is growing, Jason.” Jason smiled, “You and me both.” Jason walked further into the forest, unsure as to whether or not he was being followed by Fenris and Daphis.
He didn’t care, he did a job, now he wanted to explore.
“You’re moving without purpose, Jason.” Fenris observed.
“I know.” Fenris smiled, staying behind.
He chose not to join.
He turned to Daphis, “He’s ready, Daphis.” Daphis hummed a beautiful tune.
“Send him back, we won’t need him here for a few weeks.
Let him build a life.”
