Chapter 11: Ella wakes up and bites her brother

Madness: I Became The Void Itself

After making sure that his sister was fine, Arthur left the bedroom along with Ava whom he took with him as he didn’t feel comfortable letting his sister with someone suspicious in the same room.

Anyway, as he got out, he went downstairs to the first floor and began searching for Sebastian, his butler and one of the few people who stood beside him throughout his life.

He could still remember how Sebastian was hit by John in a way that sent him flying like a ragdoll with just a simple attack like that or to be precise, it was a backhand slap.

But considering Sebastian being a human in his sixties facing a vampire that was stronger and faster, then no one would blame him for it. The gap was just too big.

After all, he was a human~

After searching for a while, they found Sebastian lying aganist a cracked wall knocked out.

Arthur immediately hurried and checked his pulse to see if he was still alive and fortunately he could still feel a pulse though it was quite slow.

But that was enough to make him sigh in relief before checking his injuries.

’Good, his injuries aren’t that serious to threaten his life. You made it, Sebastian.’ Arthur said to himself inwardly with a small smile gracing his lips before turning back in the next second to look at Ava with a calm indifference.

He frowned a little as he clearly couldn’t see a single servant in the mansion at all. Even that time when he was fighting John causing a great commotion, he didn’t hear any scream around at all.

And now making sure of it himself, he didn’t find anyone at all, it was so empty.

"Let’s call 911." He said.

Fifteen minutes later, the ambulance came and took the body of Sebastian before heading to the hospital making Arthur feel at ease like that.

No one talked or asked about the destruction as Arthur was waiting in front of the gates of the mansion with Sebastian in his arms, he didn’t want a headache at the moment.

After that, he walked back to the bedroom where he put Ella, and sat beside her on the bed caressing her face gently as he waited for her to wake up.

During that, he had some questions to ask to his hard-working secretary.

"I see no servants in the whole vicinity. It’s like as if they had disappeared." He said in a calm voice directing an indirect question to Ava who understood.

"John used his Charm, one of the basic abilities of the vampire race, to send them away." And her answer was direct and on point without further explanation.

"Hmmm, for what reason?"

"Likely, for less distraction and serve as blood banks for those working under him and his family." Ava deduced.

Hearing this, Arthur nodded. Though he looked as calm as the ocean, inwardly he was frowning in displeasure.

He didn’t care about the servants in the house as they didn’t carry much value to him like Sebastian. Some of them were even betrayers who sneaked to gather information on the Vane family. But, he didn’t like it when someone hostile did as they pleased in his house.

It was something he hated.

Then after a brief silence—

"Tell me Ava, who are you really?"

Here is the question that she is waiting for as she knows that this is coming sooner or later. It had been a long time since she worked for him. She loved him to the point of obsession that the other female employees felt threatened by her whenever they looked at him with infatuated gazes. After all, she wouldn’t let any bitch come closer to her man.

So she planned to turn him into a vampire and bond him to her, a kind of marriage ritual to the vampire race.

Now seeing him wanting to know her, she felt both happy and slightly afraid. Happy that he wanted to know about her and afraid because she was from the same race as the one who hurt his sister.

But she wouldn’t be able to lie to him, after all, their deep soulful connection would reveal her to him and that would be bad for her. Just imagining him hating her made her deeply afraid and so nervous, she loved him with all heart and soul, and seeing him go away from her due to a simple lie, made her go crazy.

’No! I won’t let that happen!’

After taking a deep breath in the calm silence of the room, she began to talk.

"As you may have suspected, I’m a vampire, my full true name is Ava Rains. I belong to one of the few noble clans of the vampire race, the Rains." She said in a calm collected voice not hiding anything from him as she did tell the truth and Arthur saw it in her eyes and felt it from her, she wasn’t lying about anything and was honest which was something he held in high regard as that proved to him that though she was a vampire like John, she was different.

"Continue. Why did you work for me?"

"Because.....I wanted to be close to someone I love."

Right after he heard this, Arthur felt a sudden wave of intense emotions and feelings that was overwhelming. It made him surprised and shocked, but as he looked at her, her pink eyes were glowing faintly, he could feel it.

A deep connection that made him gasp slightly as the emotions were just too much, but more than that, he smiled.

Yeah, a very gentle smile that he had only shown to his sister. He could feel her deep feelings from that weird connection as he didn’t understand it but felt it.

It was because he could feel how genuine and real her feelings were. Her honesty with him, and the way her eyes looked at him coupled with that connection that he felt very deep inside, Arthur showed that smile. But that didn’t mean he loved her back, no he was just relieved that she wasn’t an enemy or working for someone that meant to hurt him or his family. But whether he would fall in love with her, only time would tell.

And Ava wasn’t holding back at all, as right after she telling Arthur why she worked for him, she remebered the past when she met for the first time someone that made her fall in love from the first sight.

She didn’t hesitate or question, as she was sure that this was love, her heart wouldn’t calm down for a second and her mind was filled with 99.99% of thoughts about him, she couldn’t forget those eyes that pulled her in immediately, or that voice that was calm yet carried a hint of gentleness.

It was such unforgettable memory to her.

Then right at that moment of intense emotions, Arthur saw his little sister’s body twitching and her fingers and toes curling slightly, this was a sign of her waking up.

Arthur waited with anticipation for his sister to wake up before suddenly, her eyes opened revealing a pair of blood red eyes.

Her breathing was slow and gentle making Arthur sigh in relief before a gentle loving smile on his face.

"Ella, how are you feeling?" He said as he caressed her cheek making her look at him.

But once her eyes landed on him, her breath hitched while her eyes widened.

Then immediately, Arthur felt another sudden wave of intense emotions hitting him like a truck. If Ava’s emotions were like a tide, then Ella’s was like a speeding truck hitting him hard.

It made him feel bewildered as question marks filled his brain.

’This is weird! Why am I feeling these intense emotions coming out of her?!!’ Arthur questioned himself frantically.

But before he could react, Ella moved with inhuman speed pushing him on the bed as she straddled him.

Arthur couldn’t understand anything of what was happening right now.

But suddenly, she lowered her head with her face dangerously close to him making him feel her hot breaths against his face. He wanted to push her away but before doing that, she lunged at his neck and sank her sharp fangs into him making Arthur stiffen while Ava was having that dazed dreamy look on her face clearly still drowned deep into her loving memories.

A/N: Sorry for being late on the Chapter. It was supposed to be yesterday, but my day was filled with so much work that was so heavy that I fell a sleep after writing half of it.

Sorry for that.
