Chapter 13 - THIRTEEN

Mafia Daddies Between My Thighs

ANGEL

The bartender slid another shot of tequila across the counter. I stared at the amber liquid, it wasn’t numbing me as it was supposed to. Nothing was working tonight.

Maybe I needed more. Something even stronger. I wanted to black out, perhaps if I did, the pain swirling in my chest would fade away.

I gulped it in a single swallow. It scorched down my throat and pooled in my stomach, but even this shot of alcohol didn’t provide release, rather it synergized my emotions. The tears had stopped, it was clear that it didn’t work on Daddy anymore. Even if I cried and cried, he wasn’t going to change his mind. He’d already decided to cut me off. And I still didn’t know the reason. I still didn’t believed that it was about security, what had his argument with Damien been about? Was he working with Jillan against me?

It didn’t matter anymore, they had succeeded in pushing me out of Daddy’s life.

I wanted to scream, to yank off my hair from my scalp until I bled red, but tantrums didn’t work with Daddy anymore.

Nothing worked.

I felt completely useless, helpless. No one in this world understood me. Nobody. This was the last night, I was allowed to wallow in my own self pity party.

The music was faint and the club was empty because Kevin had ordered everyone out when he reserved this whole place.

Even with everyone was gone, I could still feel eyes on me. Daddy’s bodyguards had followed me to this place.

Fúcking annoying

Why did he pretend to care about my safety when he was in fact abandoning me? In a few hours, I was supposed to get on a plane and disappear to a foreign continent as if I’d never existed in his life?

My fist clenched around a fresh shot of tequila, my eyes burning and my vision blurred.

This couldn’t be the end.

What was I supposed to do with all the feelings that whirled inside of me like a tornado?

I was fucking drowning in this pool of obsession, why didn’t he see it? I wasn’t breathing anymore, my chest felt suffocated.

How was I supposed to live without the love that threatened to combust me from within?

"This can’t be it," I groaned, pushing the hair away from my face with a miserable shove. I was fucking pathetic. The schemes weren’t forming, no plots, just my battered mind and shattered pieces of my heart. Was this what it meant to be broken?

Did this mean that I’d already lost Daddy... forever?

I slammed the glass on the counter with agitated fingers. A crack bloomed and the violence of it sliced into my fingers.

I muttered out a curse as pain and blood exploded on my fingers.

"Now easy, babe. Don’t hurt yourself like this, Hmm? Let me see," Kevin, who was sitting on the stool next to mine, said. He’d been quiet all through my rants about not wanting to move to Europe.

"You’re bleeding, there’s nothing worth hurting yourself over for," He said gently, his fingers massaging my knuckles soothingly. Then, he pulled out his handkerchief from his jacket to bandage my bleeding fingers. He signalled a waitress to get a first aid kit.

"I don’t want it!" I snapped at both him and the pale waitress who looked at Kevin for approval before walking away.

"I don’t want anything, why do I have to move to a new place? Jillian is really cruel. I was in daddy’s life before her, how can he choose her over me!" My speech was slurred, I hadn’t realized how much the alcohol had kicked in until now.

"I know, you’ve always been the best person I know, you don’t deserve how they are treating you," Kevin’s touch lingered, his hands warm and soft entangled in mine. "You are already an adult and can make full decisions for yourself. You could also not leave, the house my grandfather left me by the beach side is still empty, I could give it to you, at least until everything is sorted out,"

I whipped my head to stare at him. Spiked blond hair, piercings, ocean eyes that were deeper in dim lights. Kevin was totally punk, the bad boy energy he pulled had always attracted a lot of girls even throughout high school. I couldn’t remember how we got close, maybe because he was the one who always provided those numbing drugs whenever I needed them. He was always there at my lowest moments, even though he’d never denied how much he wanted to get into my panties, he’d always been respectful about it. Never forcing me to do what I didn’t want to.

He had a nice build in these loose-fitted leather pants and jacket that he wore, and a diamond chain hung around his neck. He was definitely different from the last time I saw him, now he even has several tattoos on his neck peeking from his jacket collar:

I inched forward to look closer, the inked words inscribed on his neck were familiar, my eyes narrowed at him.

"Ew, is that my name on your neck?!" I voice out in disbelief. If his father weren’t filthy rich to watch over him, he’d have been a full-blown junkie, I didn’t think he possessed any romantic bones in him. Hell, I was fully aware of how much he fucked girls, he changed them as frequently as he smoked.

"I don’t like my name on your skin!" I said pointedly, making overly exaggerated heaving noises.

Kevin smirked, the piercing on his lip gleaming in the club lights, "Who says it’s your name? You don’t own the word. Besides, I just particularly like that word, Angel. I was looking for an inspo for a new tattoo and it just fits," He adjusted his shirt so I could see the full inscription drawn in a mix of bold and italics.

"And I can already tell you like it,"
