ANGEL
His smile was smug and absolute confidence—and honestly, the bastard was right.
’My Angel’ was inked across his skin in bold, beautiful italics. The ink was gorgeous, but it was my name, so of course it was beautiful.
Iloved it.
Who wouldn’t love it when a guy openly showed the whole world how desperately he craved them?
"Yeah, it looks good," I admitted, but what I didn’t say out loud was how much hotter that tattoo would look painted across Daddy’s broad, taut chest instead.
I could practically see it—Vincenzo marking his own skin with my name, branding himself to show everyone that I belonged to him and him alone.
It would be so fucking hot. Just picturing his dark eyes while he did it choked the breath right out of my lungs. But the fantasy shattered the second the brutal reality of my life slammed back into my chest, freezing me like I’d been thrown into an ice bath.
None of the things I’d spent years fantasizing about doing with Daddy were ever going to happen.
He’d already booked my one-way ticket to Europe. Martha was probably packing up my bedroom right now. The second I stepped foot back in that mansion, I was being thrown away.
Kevin must have caught the sudden, bitter mood washing over my face. He poured a heavy glass of red wine from the bottle on the VIP booth table and slid it into my hand.
"You know I’ll do anything to make you feel better, right?"
Our fingers brushed as I took the glass. The wine was dark, sweet, and, completely drowning out the burning taste of the tequila I’d just downed.
That was when Kevin moved in closer. Dangerously close.
He parted his legs, sliding his knee firmly right between my thighs, his broad frame trapping me in my ridiculously short dress.
"You can’t make me feel better, Kevin."
"Try me, Angel."
His thick fingers trailed slowly up my bare inner thigh, his callouses catching against my skin. I didn’t stop him. I didn’t even flinch when his grip tightened, squeezing my waist and pulling my hips an inch closer to his.
His ocean-blue eyes were completely cooked with raw need. He wasn’t even trying to hide the pathetic hope and lust starving inside him.
He loved me like this.
Fragile. Broken. Needing him.
He probably thought that he was finally going to win something I never meant to give.
I looked around at the club, I could still feel the eyes of Daddy’s bodyguards even when I didn’t see them.
They’ll report everything to him, and were probably doing so at this moment. This was all the motivation I needed.
I took another sip of my wine before placing the glass carefully on the counter. Then I leaned closer, so our faces nearly touched, our breaths brushing and mingling together like the thorns in my heart.
"Didn’t you use to have that... good stuff?" I peered into his eyes, my voice dropping to a lower quiet seductive pitch. "I want to forget my life right now, could you give it to me, Kevin?" My lips grazed the corner of his cheek.
My fingers brushed his thigh, light, teasing but purposeful.
His muscles tensed beneath my touch, spreading a thrill of triumph through me. Daddy made me feel like I wasn’t beautiful enough, but Kevin was staring at me like I was the hottest thing he’d ever seen.
My palm rubbed and massaged his taut skin slowly upward and I watched his breath change.
The way his pupils flare. His unwavering lusty attention, I loved it, all of it.
This kind of control shot me with a different kind of high. My fingers squeezed the spot just beside his crotch. I smirked at his sharp intake of air, and his grunt. "You’re fucking killing me, you know that, right?"
I found what I was looking for.
Another thicker groan left Kevin’s throat, his eyes were fully lidded with lust now. I moved my hand suddenly—just not where he expected, but into the pocket of his jacket.
"There it is," I murmured smoothly, my eyes flashing with triumph as I pulled out the small wrapped packets and lifted them between us. I inched backwards to set some distance between us.
Kevin’s expression dropped instantly, a mix of irritation and need crossing his face.
"So that’s what you wanted," he muttered disappointedly.
I shrugged, "It’s probably the only thing you can give me,"
"You really enjoy teasing me, don’t you? What do I have to do to get you to be mine, name it!"
I was already peeling one packet open. " I only want one thing Kevin, and you cannot give it to me,"
I stared at the sweets in glee, these weren’t just your normal candies. Back in school, these were the same ones Kevin had given me the day Dad married Jillian where I’d cried my eyes out and almost jumped down the roof.
The chocolate taste melted on my tongue, spreading warmth through my blood. Slowly, heavy.
It was even better than the alcohol, the heaviness in my chest was beginning to fade.
"These are so good," I moaned, my eyes already rolling with ecstasy. Suddenly the world wasn’t dark and gloomy anymore, I was floating on clouds. The blissful feeling completely submerged me.
Kevin’s eyes turned more determined, popping one candy into his mouth, "Just name what you want Angel, I can definitely give it to you, I’ll give you anything," He was massaging my thighs now, looking at me in a way I wanted just one person to look at me.
This much obsession that mirrored the one I suffered from. This same disease that was eating me from within. There was really no cure, we could only burn and burn until there was nothing left but scorches of our ash.
I could also see the tent growing in his pants, which only got bigger and bigger.
He leaned forward once again, his eyes burning with promise, "I can even go to fucking Europe for you, if you want to stay, I can make sure of it. Just say yes," He whispered into my neck, his fingers groping my waist more confidently now.
"I have a room upstairs. Vip. Shall we?"
