Abigail’s POV
I just went to the kitchen for a light breakfast, none of the maids were seen so I decided to make it myself.
That was when I saw the door, surprisingly it was my first time seeing it.
Curious I went to it and opened it, the door led to the garden of the house.
“Wow, this is beautiful” I muttered, I mean the garden looked like a paradise on earth.
As I scanned the garden I saw an apple tree with many juicy red apples on its branches.
“Maybe I can use it to make some apple pie” I thought as I headed towards it only to stop in my tracks when I saw someone climbing down the trees.
I almost screamed then I saw that it was the Kingpin so relaxed.
He climbed down, there was an apple in his hand and he was staring up ahead.
There was a hibiscus ahead three feet away from where I was standing so I went to it.
From there I could see Carter dressed in an all black outfit standing just a few feet away from the garden’s door.
“Could this be the test?, oh my gosh I ‘m not supposed to see this”.
My heart sank into my stomach at that realization.
“Why is my life so hard”
“Just get back into the house as quickly as you can, they won’t notice” a voice whispered to me.
“Yes I could do this” I whispered to myself, I took a step backwards about to go back into the house when I heard it.
The sound was loud and resounding, I turned around sharply and saw Carter falling to the ground.
The Kingpin shot him without battling an eye, I slumped onto the ground, my body trembling.
I felt my blood run cold as I thought about the gruesome scene I just witnessed.
“No,no,no, I need to go far away from here, no I can’t” I hugged myself tightly as I whispered these words.
I took three deep breaths to steady myself then I got up from the floor and walked carefully towards the door I came from.
When I had finally entered the kitchen, I released the breath that I didn’t realize I was holding.
As I looked around the kitchen, I couldn’t even bring myself breakfast so I went to my room and laid down praying to forget the horrible scene I saw.
My eyes fluttered open and the first thing I saw was my father’s dark eyes staring right at me.
“You old codger !How could you do this !
I gritted at him.
“Don’t feel hurt my son, this is the part of the test” he replied, smiling at me.
What is this man blabbering about?, I thought.
“So now you are going to come to the Snow mansion, you have to drive yourself there too, if you don’t make it, then the empire won’t be yours.And you have only two hours to do that, Good luck, son.” he finished.
“Before I forget, a bell will ring, that’s when your two hours time starts”.
After saying that, he walked away leaving me all alone in the garden.
I watched him till he walked out of the garden.
Just then a bell rang signifying the two hour time loop had started.
Holding my stomach at the place where I was shot, I slowly got up from where I was seated and headed towards the door of the garden.
As I dragged my feet forward, I prayed that I would be able to finish this test without .
The place I was shot was still hurting me but the bleeding has stopped.
When I came out of the garden, everywhere was strangely quiet.
I walked to the front door and disappeared into the house, entering the living room, and I slowly sat down.
My throat was dry, I needed water.
“Rodrigo !” I called with the little strength in me but there was no answer.
I called the second time, still no answer.
Is there no one in the house or what?
I got up from the couch and headed to the kitchen but then I decided to check Abigail’s room.
I reached her door and was about to open it when it suddenly opened from inside.
Abigail stared at me, her eyes widening and her mouth agape.
That was the only word I said before I slumped on the floor.
“Oh my goodness, are you okay Carter?” She tried to pull me up but couldn’t.
“Just hang on, I will take you to the hospital” she said and wanted to pull me up again.
“No”
I held her hand, “I need to get to the Snow mansion before two hours or I won’t inherit the empire” I gritted.
“But you…”
“Just help me to the car” I interrupted.
“Fine”
Abigail helped me up and we slowly walked out of the house, my car was already parked outside so she just helped me get in.
I held the steering wheel firmly taking deep breaths.
I need to reach the mansion before the two hours expire.
“Are you sure that you can drive to the place?”
I turned to Abigail who was standing outside the car, her face was filled with worry and concern.
“Yes”
After saying that I started the car and drove away from the residence.
I don’t know how much time I have left but I need to reach the mansion at all costs.
I sped through the roads without any care in the world.
When I was almost at the mansion, my eyes started to become heavy and blurry.

A vivid imagination came to my head of me failing the test and Roman inheriting the empire.
I saw him smirking at me and flashing the Snow ring at me.
My eyes darkened and I held the wheels more firmly, I either passed or died.
With that determination I sped away till I was in front of the mansion, I stopped the car and came out.
