Chapter 3: Analyzing the situation

Marigold – A LitRPG

I feel miserable, unjustified, and... complicated. It may be others' desire to reincarnate in a fantasy world, but this clearly wasn't mine. I still remember how I died—fire burning my skin, the ashes choking my lungs, and the smoke blinding me. Every movement and breath felt like agony, and I was overwhelmed by fear and desperation in a way I’d never experienced before.

I’ll admit it—I wasn’t a nice person. I didn’t like people, didn’t like talking to them or interacting with them. I might have been insensitive to the feelings of those around me, and maybe I even thought I was better than others. But I didn’t deserve a death like that. Being consumed by fire, unable to escape or scream, I prayed that someone would come and save me from that hell... but no help came.

When I died, at least I found a moment of peace, floating in a black void with no purpose. It was a fleeting calm, but it was still peace. But now... I’m a bug. Is this some kind of cruel joke by a god? Whatever it is, it’s not funny. I wish it had all ended in that fire. Staring at my reflection, I felt like I was in a battle with myself—and some higher entity. But the question remained: Should I end it all? Would throwing myself into the lake solve anything? No... Death by drowning would be just as miserable as burning. So what should I do? What now? What’s the deal with this system? A bee? And you want me to create a colony? With my pathetic stats and skills, I can barely even figure out what I’m supposed to do.

'Speaking of skills, what’s up with these? These [Traits] are ridiculous.'

[Traits]{Fear of burning}

You have suffered a great trauma related to fire, so much that it has engraved itself on your soul and has become something that you cannot ignore.

“Seriously? Oh come on! Of course, anyone who was burned alive would have a fear of fire! This is unfair!”

[Traits]{Conserned player}

You think too much, and always think the worst, even the wise become useless in the face of indecision.

Wisdom -75% Speed -25%

“Now being pessimistic is a crime too? Look at those debuffs! -75% to wisdom? How is that even fair?”

[Skills]{Wax making} lv 1

Use plant material to create wax that can be used for various purposes.

“Well, that’s what you’d expect from a bee i guess.”

[Skills]{Egg laying} Lv 1

Make your offspring with our body from nutrients.

[Layout options]:

Worker Bee - Lv1 / Soldier Bee - lv1

“Great, so I’m expected to just lay eggs non-stop? This system is forcing me into creating a hive!”

[Skills]{Create Honey} Lv1

Create honey from the nectar of flowers

“Typical bee stuff, I guess.”

[Skills]{Memorial Memory} Lv1

You can create mental references to accurately remember events, information, and places.

“This one seems useful. It’s like having a mental agenda. The only problem is, I have no idea how to use it!”

[Skills]{Maternal connection} Lv1

Can command and impose your own will on his descendants

“Another skill pushing me to create a hive. What a joke.”

[Skills]{Basic flight} Lv1

You have learned the art of flight, and now you have an easier time flying and stabilizing yourself

Speed: +2

“Oh, so skills can give me stat points too. That’s nice to know.”

I’m stuck in this new form, unsure if my stats are weak or if I’m actually strong. It’s all so confusing. I feel like I was born to create a colony, but I’m far from ready for that. As I’m deep in thought, I suddenly hear rustling behind me. I spin around and see a blurry figure, losing my balance and falling to the ground. When I look up, I’m shocked to see a huge rabbit. From my tiny size, it looks like a giant elephant. It doesn’t seem to notice me, but it’s so cute—white fur with purple spots, and those strange goat-like eyes.

'Could I analyze it? Would that work?'

I focus and try to activate the skill.

[Status]Name: ----- Species: -------Level: ----Class: -----Mana: N/DLife: 43/50Str: ----Int: ----Spr: ----Def: ----Wis: --What the hell is this rabbit? Why can’t I analyze it properly? The confusion only grows, and I’m left standing there, unsure of what to do next.
