Wen Xiaoyue’s thoughts flew out from the complex problem she was solving, and she turned her head with furrowed brows.

“Finished with the test? So fast?”

Although You Xinghai had indeed started doing it a few minutes earlier than she did, that small amount of time was practically negligible when considering the gap between the two of them.Full novel: Marking the Tsundere Eldest Miss of the Noble Academy [Omega] — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Earlier in math class, You Xinghai’s answer to the question had certainly stunned everyone, but she usually did not study at all, so how could she write her answers so quickly?

A fire ignited inside Wen Xiaoyue’s heart.

Could it be that she was still too lazy to write properly and was just trying to placate me?

You Xinghai did not understand why the person before her suddenly looked so displeased.

She tilted her head and offered a very well-behaved smile. “I am finished. Would you like to take a look?”

Wen Xiaoyue glanced at the other girl’s desktop and did not see any items meant for entertainment, so it seemed You Xinghai really had been concentrating on the test just now.

Forget it, even if she was just going through the motions, at least she went through the motions for a period of time.

With a slight headache, Wen Xiaoyue took the test paper. “Let me see. You did it so fast, and you did not even bother to check it over.”

“What is the point of checking an ordinary practice test?” You Xinghai responded with a grin.

Wen Xiaoyue had expected to see a paper that was half filled with random scribbles and half left blank, and she had already rehearsed in her mind how she would continue to painstakingly advise her to study.

However, when she unfolded the exam paper, elegant and flowing handwriting appeared before her eyes.

Most of the problems showed signs of marks and circles, the multiple-choice and fill-in-the-blank sections were entirely completed, and the steps for the comprehensive questions at the back were clear and neatly written. There were barely any corrections or erasures, which proved that the problem solver’s train of thought was exceptionally smooth and almost never interrupted.

With one glance, Wen Xiaoyue knew that this was absolutely not a paper that could be written by someone who never solved problems. It was not even possible to look up the questions and copy them down, as she had seen many solutions that were sloppily copied after searching online, and the handwriting would never be as neat as the paper in her hands.

There was no doubt that You Xinghai had written this honestly and properly, but how?

She raised her head slightly, using her peripheral vision to scan You Xinghai, who had already happily run off to log into a game.

How did this person manage to do it?

Holding onto a final shred of doubt, she pulled You Xinghai’s paper onto her own desk to check the answers.

The further down she checked, the more solemn her heart became.

For a math paper, every single answer was actually correct.

Furthermore, the methods used for the comprehensive questions at the back were even simpler and more convenient than the ones provided in the answer key, skipping many unnecessary steps.

Wen Xiaoyue silently glanced at the two unsolved comprehensive questions on her own test paper.

You Xinghai, did she refrain from studying not because she did not want to learn, but because it was truly unnecessary for her to learn?

Was she a hidden academic god? But why?

Wen Xiaoyue felt as though her brain was about to overheat, continuously emitting steam like a steam engine.

Could the quality of education at the ordinary high school You Xinghai previously attended completely outperform that of the noble academy? Was it possible that they had always been complacent, and the students outside were actually that powerful?

No, that was not right, because their school’s university admission rate was still the highest every year. Where exactly did You Xinghai learn these things?

Not having heard any movement from the front row for a long time, You Xinghai spoke up to inquire while operating her character. “Are you done checking, Young Lady? Did I make any mistakes?”

Her finger slid across the screen, and her character bounded over an obstacle. “This set of questions is just basic practice, right? I feel a bit guilty using this kind of test to trick you into giving me a meal. How about we find a harder set?”

Wen Xiaoyue was speechless.

This set was already an exam paper with an advanced level of difficulty that went beyond the syllabus!

“You Xinghai.”

You Xinghai was playing with absolute delight and could only spare a tiny fraction of time in the midst of her busy schedule to placate the young lady. “What is it, what is it? Please wait just a moment, I am finishing up right away! Whoosh, take that!”

She kept providing sound effects for the game character she was controlling, thoroughly enjoying herself.

Wen Xiaoyue tightly pursed her lips, and a dark fire slowly ignited in her clear, cold eyes.

“You Xinghai, make a bet with me.”

Startled by Wen Xiaoyue’s freezing tone, You Xinghai’s finger twitched, causing her character to crash into a wall, resulting in a game over.

“Huh? What?”

She hurriedly raised her head, quickly turned off her phone screen to stuff it into her pocket, and leaned closer in a pleasing manner. “Apologies, apologies, I was breaking a record just now. What did you say?”

Wen Xiaoyue held You Xinghai’s test paper in her hands with a complicated expression, looking at the other party as if she were meeting her for the very first time.

Under the piercing glare of the daytime sun, You Xinghai could clearly see the other girl’s naturally bright red lips, deep eyes, smooth forehead, and curly long hair, making her look as exquisite as an oil painting.

Then, she watched as those elegantly shaped lips opened slightly.

“I said, make a bet with me.”

Waves surged within Wen Xiaoyue’s eyes, and the gaze she fixed upon her was like that of a wolf king looking down at its prey from a high vantage point.

“For this upcoming monthly exam, let us compete to see who can achieve a higher score.”

You Xinghai thought to herself that while this clearly sounded like healthy competition, it felt as though the other girl wanted to consume her alive.

You Xinghai flipped the ponytail behind her head. “Competing is fine, but do we need to have a wager or something?”

As if she had thought of some wonderful scenario, she narrowed her eyes. “For example, if I win, you could send me on a grand trip around the world or something similar.”

The heavy emotions Wen Xiaoyue had felt were mostly dispelled by You Xinghai’s baffling interruption, and a question mark slowly rose above her head. “What do you want that kind of thing for? Do you not have the money for it?”

“Well, I do have it, but I have never won this kind of prize in my life, so I want to win it once.” Her main reasoning was that spending other people’s money did not hurt.

Wen Xiaoyue let out a sigh, and the scrutiny and unwillingness in her eyes receded bit by bit like the tide, turning back into the look she used most frequently, which was the look one gave to an idiot. “And here I thought you had greater ambitions. Fine, a trip around the world it is.”

You Xinghai thought to herself that her tone sounded exactly like a dominant chief executive officer.

Wen Xiaoyue handed the test paper back to her. “Then it is a settled deal. Work hard.”

“Wait,” You Xinghai called out to Wen Xiaoyue, who was just about to turn around. “You have not said what you want me to do if you win.”

There was a brief pause.

Wen Xiaoyue turned her face sideways and gave a disdainful huff. “Is that necessary? I do not lack anything.”

You Xinghai wondered if this person simply enjoyed the act of betting itself, like a gambling addict.

“No, let us agree on something, otherwise the bet will be quite meaningless.”

Wen Xiaoyue clicked her tongue. “I do not know, think of something yourself.”

“Hmm.”

You Xinghai pondered for a moment, reviewing her interactions with Wen Xiaoyue over the past few days.

What kind of wager could add fuel to the fire for a young lady who was already very passionate about studying?

She rolled her head around, thinking long and hard for a good while, when suddenly she had a brilliant idea.

“How about this!”

You Xinghai propped herself up against the desktop, leaning closer to the front row with a beaming smile.

“If you win, I will give you the right to use You Xinghai for a week. You can make me do whatever you want me to do.”

I saw through your dominant potential a long time ago, so I will satisfy you!

Wen Xiaoyue was speechless.

Although she did not know what You Xinghai was thinking, looking at that sly expression made her feel that nothing good would come of it.

She turned her head away, leaving behind two cold words.

“Whatever.”
