Although it was only a light kiss, Ji Mianyue felt a dazed sensation as if she were about to be swallowed whole. When she looked at Wen Conghan, she saw a profound and deep-seated longing.

That desire was glaringly obvious, like a person freezing in the depths of a winter night who suddenly spots a warm hearth. It was an obsession and a thirst akin to a survival instinct, and the sight of it sent a jolt of alarm through Ji Mianyue’s heart.

Soon, however, that fleeting thought slipped away from Wen Conghan’s eyes, leaving behind only surprise and shyness.Full novel: Married First, Loved Later with the Fake Heiress (ABO) — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Ji Mianyue figured she must have misread the moment. She noticed that, in her surprise, Wen Conghan had parted her teeth. Thus, watching the startled yet bashful Wen Conghan, Ji Mianyue quietly slipped her tongue inside.

This kiss had been carefully orchestrated and guided by Wen Conghan; she had been feeding Ji Mianyue subtle hints all along.

Only if we are intimate enough will Shen Yuxin and Ji Yanru believe we are truly a couple.

However, her goal did not end there. The kiss was merely a beginning. While Wen Conghan maintained a look of feigned surprise, her hands tightened around Ji Mianyue’s waist.

Then, she slowly touched the soft tip of Ji Mianyue’s tongue. It was so sweet.

If she could, Wen Conghan wanted to taste every inch of Ji Mianyue, starting from the tip of her tongue. She did not want to miss a single part.

Ji Mianyue was born to be hers.

“Stop, stop, stop!”

“What are you two doing?”

Ji Yanru had imagined many scenarios for welcoming Wen Conghan home, but she had never imagined this one.

This did not feel like welcoming Wen Conghan home; it felt like welcoming her own heart’s demise.

Ji Yanru’s face turned ashen with rage. Looking at Wen Conghan and Ji Mianyue, she found herself in a position where she could neither hit nor scold them.

They were both her children. How could something like this happen?

“Alright, Mianyue, take Conghan to see her room. It is the one at the corner on the left side of the second floor.”

Seeing her wife on the verge of a heart attack, Shen Yuxin hurried to send the two youngsters upstairs.

She knew her wife’s temperament well; if the two children stayed any longer, Ji Yanru was going to snap.

Ji Mianyue stood up, and Wen Conghan felt her arms go empty as the warmth in her hands vanished instantly.

The soft sensation disappeared so quickly that Wen Conghan found it difficult to accept. At the last second, Wen Conghan grabbed Ji Mianyue’s hand.

As they say, it is easy to go from frugality to luxury, but difficult to go back. Wen Conghan did not want to let go of Ji Mianyue’s hand for anything. If possible, she would rather be holding her and kissing her.

Wen Conghan suppressed the surging emotions in her eyes and stood beside Ji Mianyue.

“Okay, Mom,” Ji Mianyue said. Thinking Wen Conghan was just trying to show their closeness, she compliantly held Wen Conghan’s hand.

“Okay,” Wen Conghan replied with calm self-restraint, though there was still a hint of irritability in her expression. It was a frustration born from not kissing Ji Mianyue enough, and it was becoming unbearable.

Ji Mianyue held Wen Conghan’s hand, feeling somewhat distracted. Rather than Ji-Mama’s anger, she was more worried about Shen-Mama’s attitude.

No matter how angry Mama Ji got, a little acting spoiled could usually solve it.

But Mama Shen was different; once she set her mind against something, there was absolutely no room for negotiation.

Wen Conghan followed Ji Mianyue to the room the two ladies had prepared for her.

The room used a palette of purple and white, making one feel good at a single glance. Moreover, the scent in the room was actually lavender.

Yes, it was the same as Wen Conghan’s pheromones.

From the colors to the patterns, everything was exactly what Wen Conghan liked. Wen Conghan had to admit that Ms. Ji Yanru and Ms. Shen Yuxin had truly put their hearts into this.

“Do you like it?” Ji Mianyue asked anxiously. She truly hoped Wen Conghan would like Mama Ji and Mama Shen.

To her, the two mothers were exceptionally wonderful people.

If there were a temple in this world that could guarantee the health of her two mothers, she would be willing to prostrate herself every three steps to get there.

Because she loved them, Ji Mianyue hoped they could live happily with their biological daughter.

To Ji Mianyue, love was never about exclusive possession.

Wen Conghan scanned the room. The colors were her favorites, and the bedding featured simple, elegant patterns. She gave Ji Mianyue a gentle smile.

Her features relaxed, and her eyes were as warm and clear as the surface of water under the sun.

“I like it very much.”

Wen Conghan’s affirmation allowed Ji Mianyue to relax significantly. Her brow, which had been furrowed from tension, finally smoothed out.

“That is good!” Ji Mianyue’s sweet smile appeared instantly. Every time she smiled, she looked like a soft, sugary marshmallow.

It was too sweet. The desire in Wen Conghan’s heart began to climb.

She wanted to kiss her, to pull her into her arms, and to ensure this smile appeared because of her.

Ji Mianyue wore a pink strawberry clip in her long hair; its glossy surface looked like it would catch fingerprints at the slightest touch.

Because it looked so easy to leave a mark on, it was even more tempting to try.

Wen Conghan’s emotions were stirred up bit by bit. She tried to calm the thoughts rolling in her mind, but they would not let her go.

They were like boiling water, churning endlessly and causing a restless ache.

Three times. Wen Conghan tried three times and still could not quiet her mind.

This feeling was truly miserable.

Wen Conghan suddenly laughed because she could not control the furrow of her brow. She began to give up resisting her own thoughts.

She was no saint; she never had been from the start. So why was she agonizing over something so inconsequential now?

“Mianyue, I think our performance just now was a bit stiff.”

Wen Conghan spoke suddenly, and Ji Mianyue’s brow furrowed the moment she heard it.

“Really? Was it that stiff?” Ji Mianyue gasped, her thoughts immediately being led astray by Wen Conghan as she recalled their earlier behavior.

“Yes,” Wen Conghan said with absolute certainty, making Ji Mianyue feel instantly guilty.

Ji Mianyue thought it over carefully and decided that what Wen Conghan said made sense. Hearing those words, she began to feel a bit afraid again.

The strawberry clip in her hair became even more of an invitation.

A look of helplessness crossed Wen Conghan’s face. She frowned, then lowered the corners of her mouth, saying in a regretful tone, “Now, there is only one way.”

“What way?” Ji Mianyue asked cautiously, her voice visibly trembling.

“Practice kissing more often, until we are used to it.”

The moment Wen Conghan finished speaking, Ji Mianyue’s face turned pink. She clasped her hands together, looking at Wen Conghan with shyness.

“Is that the only way?” Ji Mianyue stole a glance at Wen Conghan, looking away before the other could meet her eyes.

Seeing her shyness, Wen Conghan took a “retreat to advance” approach. Instead of sitting by the desk, she pulled Ji Mianyue toward the edge of the bed.

In this slightly ambiguous setting, Wen Conghan spoke slowly.

“Mianyue, you know I do not want to force you. If you think this is not good, it is okay. We can think of another way.”

Listening to Wen Conghan, Ji Mianyue truly could not think of any other solution either.

“Would you be willing? I can do it.”

Ji Mianyue bit her lip, her normally round eyes showing a hint of determination.

She was so cute. Wen Conghan nodded.

In the next second, Ji Mianyue gently closed her eyes, her brow furrowing slightly as she did so.

Sensing Ji Mianyue’s unease, Wen Conghan gently smoothed the space between her eyebrows. After her hand brushed past the strawberry clip, she placed it gently on Ji Mianyue’s chin.

Feeling the sudden touch on her brow, Ji Mianyue opened her tightly shut eyes. Then, she saw Wen Conghan’s face drawing closer and closer.

Thump-thump, thump-thump, thump-thump.

Following that, a soft sensation was pressed onto Ji Mianyue’s lips.

Heat surged between them without warning. The breath so close to her made Ji Mianyue feel dizzy and lightheaded.

Then, a hand moved to Ji Mianyue’s waist.

Her path of retreat was suddenly blocked. Ji Mianyue propped herself up with one hand so she would not fall directly back onto the bed.

Her other hand was pulled and placed onto Wen Conghan’s shoulder.

Wen Conghan said indistinctly, “If it gets to be a bit much later, just tap me.”

That day, Ji Mianyue learned for the first time that Wen Conghan could also tell lies.

Even when she tapped her, she did not stop at all!
