Although Loren had already guessed that the men in black raided the police station to silence the suspect, hearing Captain George confirm that the man was dead still filled him with uncontrollable rage and disgrace.

The head of the mighty Morgan family dying at the hands of two nobodies was humiliation enough.

Now, right under his nose, someone had dared to murder the very suspect he needed.Full novel: Marvel: Creating 2B at the Start — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

This was provocation—pure, unadulterated provocation!

They didn’t respect him as the heir to the Morgan family at all!

This was intolerable.

A man could only swallow so much.

If he didn’t launch a fierce counterattack, how could he ever hold his head high in a family as vast as the Morgans?

This was no longer just about avenging his predecessor’s parents.

It was about the dignity of the entire Morgan family and his authority as its young master!

With that thought, he looked grimly at Captain George in front of him.

“Do you have any news on the other suspect?” Captain George nodded respectfully.

“Yes.

We’ve tracked down his exact location.

However, he’s in Mexico, so making an arrest will take some time.” “Don’t bother arresting him.

Give me his exact location, and I’ll handle this myself.

“Frankly, today’s events have made me completely lose faith in your department’s competence.

A precinct getting raided, with so many officers dead—you’re a bunch of useless fools.

“The police department doesn’t need to meddle in this any further.

I’ll resolve it my own way,” Loren said coldly, staring down Captain George.

Although the middle-aged man before him was the father of his high school classmate, Gwen Stacy, Loren didn’t give him a shred of face.

Incompetence was incompetence, and a dressing-down was well deserved.

Captain George knew their performance today had been abysmal.

Not only had several police officers sacrificed their lives, but several high-ranking officials who had come to flatter Loren had also died.

It was a massive disaster.

If blame were assigned, he could easily lose his job as captain.

So listening to Loren’s scolding, he didn’t dare utter a word of defense.

Although Loren was young—a classmate of his daughter—his background was impossibly highborn, far beyond what someone of George’s status could afford to offend.

Moreover, for reasons he couldn’t explain, being stared down by this young man sent a chill down his spine.

His sixth sense told him that Loren was dangerous—extremely dangerous.

Even if he was only eighteen years old.

Even if he looked like a refined, polite young noble on the surface.

To a veteran cop of several decades, all of that was merely the boy’s camouflage.

The real Loren was definitely not as simple as he appeared.

As for why, George didn’t know yet.

Perhaps it had to do with the tragic events he had suffered recently.

It made sense—an eighteen-year-old boy suddenly losing both parents and becoming an orphan.

Such a terrible turn of events would inevitably force someone to mature rapidly.

But growing up too fast often pushed a person to extremes, and in George’s eyes, Loren was showing clear signs of heading down that path.

With that thought, George couldn’t help but speak up: “Master Loren, today was indeed our department’s failure.

We failed to protect your safety, and for that, I am deeply sorry.

“However, according to our intelligence, the other suspect has joined a drug cartel in Mexico.

They are heavily armed, making an arrest extremely difficult.

For your safety, please let us handle the arrest!” “I’ll say it one more time: give me the information on the other suspect, and don’t meddle in anything else.

Did I make myself clear?” Loren said coldly, his tone leaving no room for argument.

“Understood.” Seeing Loren’s stance, Captain George naturally didn’t dare say more, immediately handing over the suspect’s information.

Once he had the information, Loren didn’t linger.

Escorted safely by 2B, he returned to his estate.

After today’s ordeal, he realized that relying solely on a general-purpose combat android for protection was far from enough.

After all, that was external strength, and external strength could always fail.

Take earlier, for example.

Even though 2B was guarding him at close range, the shockwave of the explosion still injured his cheek, leaving an ugly mark.

Luckily, the blast’s power had been limited today.

Had it been any stronger, he might be pushing up daisies by now.

Relying on others for protection was never enough.

True strength came from oneself!

He had actually thought about this when he first transmigrated into this world.

However, over the past few days, he had been entirely focused on building 2B and had no energy for anything else.

Now that 2B was completed, it was time to upgrade himself.

With that thought, a bold idea popped into his mind: Since his background was so similar to Batman’s in the DC universe, why shouldn’t he build himself a Batsuit?

With his current level of intelligence and technological capabilities, he could completely recreate Batman’s suite of high-tech gear, becoming the Batman of the Marvel universe—a true Dark Knight!

Yes, a *true* Dark Knight, not like Batman, who merely threw villains into prison.

If Loren sent them somewhere, it would be straight to hell, not some goddamn prison.

With his mind made up, he didn’t hesitate for a second and immediately threw himself into crafting high-tech gear.

Meanwhile, he didn’t waste any time on the other front.

While he locked himself in his underground laboratory doing research, 2B, following his orders, headed straight to Mexico to track down the second gunman.

**** On the Mexican border, inside a dilapidated drug manufacturing plant, several men sat around a table happily playing cards.

Just then, a silver-haired woman wearing a black eye patch and a Gothic dress strolled casually through the factory’s main entrance, carrying a katana on her back.

This woman was none other than 2B, sent by Loren to hunt down the suspect.

“Hey, found you at last.

You ran pretty far, didn’t you?” 2B’s gaze, filtered through her military visor, locked onto one of the men playing cards.

Seeing a woman suddenly walk into their facility, everyone present was stunned.

This place was a forbidden zone.

Without permission from higher-ups, no outsider could step foot inside.

Yet 2B had strolled in as if she owned the place.

How could they not be bewildered?

Within seconds, they snapped back to reality.

The sudden appearance of 2B was far too bizarre and defied logic—she clearly meant trouble!

Without a second thought, they reached for the firearms beside their seats and aimed them at 2B.

“Freeze!

Who are you?

How did you get in here?”
