After dinner, Wos checked the time.

It was almost six thirty.

“Tom, time to get ready for the restaurant.” Wos clapped his hands.Full novel: Marvel, DC, and anime? I’ve got them all — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Do your best tonight too.”

Tom nodded and skillfully took the custom-made tailcoat out of the wardrobe.

Although he had only been working for a few days, he had already fully adapted to the role of pianist.

“Huh? Where is Tom going?” Aqua asked curiously.

“Why is he wearing such formal clothes?”

“Tom works as a pianist at a high-end restaurant,” Wos explained as he tidied up.

“He performs from seven to ten every night, and it’s our main source of income.”

“A pianist?!” Aqua’s eyes went wide.

“A cat as a pianist? That’s unbelievable!”

“What’s so unbelievable?” Wos rolled his eyes.

“Tom’s playing is master level, and the guests all love it.”

Aqua circled around Tom, who was now in his tailcoat, and the more she looked, the more surprised she got.

“Seriously? Why does this goddess feel like this world is even stranger than the Heavenly Realm?”

Tom elegantly adjusted his bow tie and checked his appearance in the mirror.

As a professional performer, managing his image was a must.

“By the way, Aqua.” Wos suddenly thought of something.

“You’ve been in this world for a day now. Do you want to go out for a walk and get familiar with the surroundings?”

“Really, I can?” Aqua’s eyes lit up.

“This goddess has wanted to go out and see this world for ages!”

“Of course you can, but there’s one condition.” Wos dug out a navy blue hooded sweatshirt from the wardrobe.

“You have to wear this and cover up your hair.”

“Why?” Aqua took the clothes, puzzled.

“This goddess’s blue hair is very beautiful!”

“Precisely because it’s so beautiful, you need to cover it,” Wos said seriously.

“That shade of blue is rare in this world and will attract unnecessary attention.”

It was true.

Aqua’s gorgeous goddess outfit stood out far too much in a modern city.

The long blue hair, the delicate headpiece, and that short skirt with gold trim didn’t look like an ordinary person’s clothes no matter how you looked at it.

Although Aqua was an idiot in *KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World*, it couldn’t be denied that when she wasn’t acting up, she really was a beauty, even prettier than 99% of the women in the Marvel universe.

“But then no one will be able to tell this goddess’s noble status,” Aqua pouted in dissatisfaction.

“What if one of my believers walks by?”

“There are no believers of yours in this world.” Wos rolled his eyes.

“Put it on quickly, or you can forget about going out.”

Aqua pouted, clearly unwilling, but at the thought of being able to go shopping, she obediently pulled on the sweatshirt.

“And this too.” Wos handed her a pair of black-framed glasses.

“Wear these and you’ll look more ordinary.”

“This goddess is not ordinary!” Aqua protested, but she put on the glasses anyway.

Now she looked like an ordinary young girl, except for those blue eyes that still sparkled brightly behind the sunglasses.

“That’s more like it.” Wos nodded with satisfaction.

“Remember, you absolutely must not reveal your identity outside.”

“I know, I know.” Aqua waved her hand impatiently.

“This goddess isn’t a child.”

Looking at the fully disguised Aqua, Jerry thought she really did look much more low-key now.

At least no one would recognize her as an outsider at a glance.

Wos led Aqua, Tom wore his tailcoat, and Jerry sat on Tom’s shoulder.

The moment they stepped out of the alley in Hell’s Kitchen, Aqua was stunned by the sight in front of her.

“Wow! So many tall buildings!” She tilted her head back to look at the skyscrapers around her.

“They’re even taller than the temples in the Heavenly Realm!”

“These are called skyscrapers,” Wos introduced.

“New York is full of buildings like this.”

The streets were busy with traffic, cars of all kinds coming and going.

Neon lights flashed in a riot of colors, decorating the entire city like a dream.

“What are those glowing boxes?” Aqua pointed at a billboard by the road.

“Why are the people on them moving?”

“Those are electronic billboards, used to advertise products,” Wos explained patiently.

“Just like the crystal balls in your Heavenly Realm, they can display images.”

Aqua listened with great interest, full of curiosity about everything in this world.

One moment she looked at the shops by the road, the next at the airplanes in the sky, behaving exactly like a country bumpkin who had never seen the world.

“Huh? Why is that person’s hair green?” Aqua suddenly pointed at a punk youth by the road.

“Is he from another world too?”

“No, that’s dyed hair.” Wos hurriedly pulled Aqua’s hand down.

“Don’t point at people, it’s very rude.”

“Dyed hair?” Aqua was puzzled.

“Why would someone dye their hair green?”

“Fashion,” Wos answered simply.

“People in this world like to express their individuality by changing their appearance.”

As they walked, they arrived at a bustling commercial street.

There were countless shops of every kind, with all sorts of goods displayed in the windows.

“Wow! These clothes are so pretty!” Aqua pressed against the window of a clothing store, her eyes shining.

“This goddess wants that blue dress!”

“You can have it, but you have to buy it with money.” Wos looked at the price tag.

“This dress costs three hundred dollars.”

“Three hundred dollars?” Aqua looked at Wos blankly.

“What’s that?”

Only then did Wos remember that Aqua, being a goddess, had no concept of mortal currency.

“Money is the universal medium of exchange in this world.” Wos pulled a few bills out of his wallet.

“You need money to buy things.”

“These pieces of paper?” Aqua took the bills and examined them closely.

“Why can a piece of paper be exchanged for things?”

“Because everyone agrees on its value.” Wos tried to explain in simple terms.

“It’s like the merit points in your Heavenly Realm.”

“Oh! I get it!” Aqua suddenly understood.

“Then how much money do we have?”

“Not much, just enough to cover the basics,” Wos said with a wry smile.

“So we can’t spend carelessly.”

Aqua looked disappointedly at the dress in the window, her eyes full of reluctance.

Seeing Aqua’s disappointed expression, Tom felt a pang of sympathy.

He patted Wos’s leg, pointed at his own tailcoat, and then pointed in the direction of the restaurant.

“Tom is right,” Wos understood what Tom meant. Visit g.com for the full chapter.

“When we earn more money, we’ll buy you pretty clothes.”

“Really?” Aqua instantly cheered up again.

“Then this goddess will be waiting!”

Continuing forward, they passed an electronics store.

The TVs in the shop were playing a news program.

“At nine tonight, renowned philanthropist Tony Stark will host a charity gala at Stark Industries headquarters…”

Hearing that name, Wos was startled.

Tony Stark?

Wasn’t that the future Iron Man?

“It’s still 2007, so there’s still some time before Tony gets kidnapped,” Wos calculated the timeline in his head.

“Wos? What’s wrong?” Aqua noticed Wos’s unusual reaction.

“Do you know the person on TV?”

“No, I’ve just heard the name before.” Wos snapped back to himself.

“He’s a very famous rich man.”

“A rich man?” Aqua’s eyes lit up.

“Then he must have lots of money! Can we go ask him for some?”

“What are you planning?” Wos looked at Aqua warily.

“Don’t you dare come up with any bad ideas!”

“This goddess wouldn’t come up with bad ideas!” Aqua said, unconvinced.

“I can use divine miracles to help him fulfill his wishes, and then he gives me some reward. That’s totally fair!”

“Absolutely not!” Wos flatly refused.

“I told you no using magic casually, and especially no revealing your identity!”

Aqua pouted, clearly very unhappy with this rule.

Tom checked the time and found it was almost seven.

He tapped Wos’s arm lightly and pointed at his watch.

“Right, it’s time to go to the restaurant.” Wos finally remembered the main task.

“Aqua, let’s take Tom to work first.”

“Work?” Aqua asked curiously.

“Can I go watch?”

“Of course you can, but you have to stay quiet,” Wos reminded her.

“You can’t disturb Tom’s performance.”

The four arrived at the entrance of “The Blue Danube” restaurant.

This high-end restaurant had an elegant interior, and several luxury cars were parked out front.

“Wow! This place looks so fancy!” Aqua exclaimed.

“It’s even more magnificent than the banquet halls in the Heavenly Realm!”

Manager Franz greeted Tom at the door, and seeing the hat-wearing girl beside Wos, he was a little curious.

“Mr. Wos, who is this?”

“A friend of mine, who wants to watch Tom’s performance,” Wos explained.

“She won’t disturb the guests.”

“Of course, no problem.” Franz nodded gracefully.

“Mr. Tom’s friends are all our honored guests.”

The inside of the restaurant was even more luxurious, with crystal chandeliers glittering and guests in formal attire chatting and laughing.

Aqua was stunned by this lavish atmosphere, and she whispered to Wos, “Are all the humans here this rich?”

“This is a high-end restaurant, and everyone who comes here is wealthy,” Wos explained.

“Ordinary people can’t afford it.”

Tom had already sat down at the piano and begun adjusting the keys.

His professional air made Aqua look at him with new respect.
