A new chapter is up.
Come in, get comfortable, and let’s see what kind of trouble waits this time ❤️ ✦ “I can’t.
I’m actually dying.” “That humiliation had to hurt.” “Laser corridor?
That’s it?
She speedran it and shut the thing off on the way out.” “Maybe he has a different definition of complicated.” “That gorgeous woman is a total badass.
Is she another superhero?” “NPCs really have no idea how terrifying superheroes are.” The internet boiled over with comments.
The mood was gleeful enough to cut through some of the tension caused by the biochemical apocalypse playing out on-screen.
“Naive.” Batman, already in motion, judged Shade in a single word.
Black Widow and Iron Man were both exceptional heroes.
The man had underestimated them far too much.
Perhaps the invasion system truly was powerful.
But the world being invaded?
It was too weak.
At least the people inside that world really did resemble what the internet was calling them.
“Almost like NPCs in a game.” Batman shook his head.
His caution slowly gave way to curiosity about the rewards.
“So he’s a walking proof of concept?” Scarlet Witch tilted her head, scarlet light flickering in her hand.
“Umbrella Corporation?” “A method to mass-produce mutants?” Professor X watched the transformed Tony on-screen, his expression unreadable.
Online discussion exploded.
The age itself seemed to be changing.
Nick Fury did not need a briefing to know the broadcast would cause a massive uproar.
But compared with all the public mockery and cheap entertainment, the king of spies cared about something else.
“Natasha…” “What reward did she get?” Fury murmured under his breath, his expression heavy.
Natasha had cleared the laser corridor without taking damage and even shut the traps down behind her.
She had certainly completed the mission first.
If Tony’s experience was any guide, she should receive a special reward as well.
Fury looked up at the screen, his single eye sharp with caution and interest.
“Good.” “I got a reward too.” In Natasha’s surprised gaze, a book woven from light appeared in front of her.
The mission was complete.
Her reward had arrived.
“But…” “Rokushiki?” “What is this?” Natasha’s face showed genuine surprise.
Unlike Tony’s reward, hers clearly had little to do with zombies.
It was something she had never heard of.
Some kind of technique?
A martial art?
She could only guess.
[Ding.] [Side Mission: Laser Corridor complete.] [Black Widow has received a special reward: Rokushiki.] A streak of light flashed.
As the system notification rang out, a flood of physical techniques rushed into Natasha’s mind.
It felt as if she had practiced them thousands of times.
The moves were completely unfamiliar, yet somehow they settled into her body like instinct.
[Ding.] [Summoned participant’s physical condition is too low to fully load Rokushiki.] [Consuming points for physical reinforcement…] [100 points consumed.
Physical reinforcement complete.] “My body?” Natasha’s eyes brightened as she felt her physical condition leap forward.
And beyond the change in her body, something even more important had arrived.
“Rokushiki: Soru?” Her voice held a trace of hesitation.
Her body moved before doubt could stop it.
In a flash, she crossed the corridor and appeared beside Tony as if she had teleported.
She moved so fast that even Tony almost failed to react.
“Rokushiki: Shigan.” Natasha lowered her gaze to the floor and drove one finger down.
The strike hit like a bullet.
The sound cracked through the corridor.
A round hole punched straight through the special alloy floor beneath her feet.
Even a handgun might not have left that kind of mark.
She had done it barehanded.
And there was another technique among the moves.
Natasha’s eyes lit up as she realized what it was.
Her body moved before she could stop herself.
…
Inside the military command center, chaos erupted.
“What the hell?” “She…” “She’s flying?
What kind of technique is that?
That’s not science.” Shouts erupted across the room.
Researchers and high-ranking generals alike lost their composure.
Chairs scraped and toppled as people shot to their feet.
Black Widow.
Natasha Romanoff.
She had stepped off the ground and moved through the air.
She had broken free of gravity and walked across empty space.
It was absurd.
Soru, a movement technique close to teleportation, could be dismissed as a trick of the eye.
Shigan could be dismissed as some hidden impact no one had seen clearly.
But Geppo, walking in the air, could not be faked.
“Damn it.” “So that’s her reward?” “That treasure should belong to the United States.” The elderly general stared greedily at the live broadcast, his gaze dark and predatory.
…
Compared with the military’s grim mood, another place was far more cheerful.
S.H.I.E.L.D.
“Good work.” A restrained smile appeared on Fury’s stern face.
Among so many headaches, something had finally gone his way.
Right after Tony, Natasha had received a reward too.
And Natasha was S.H.I.E.L.D.’s agent.
The name was strange.
Rokushiki.
But the combat power she displayed was extraordinary.
Terrifying speed, short-range burst movement, and the unbelievable ability to step through the air.
Knowing Natasha, Fury suspected there were other techniques as well.
And if these were techniques…
If they were skills…
“There may be a way to teach them.” The more Fury thought about it, the sharper his interest became.
Unlike Tony’s drug-based transformation, Natasha’s reward was clearly a martial system.
An absurdly powerful one, but a martial system all the same.
“According to our analysts, and Natasha’s response through coded field gestures…” “Director.” “Our guess may be correct.
Those techniques can likely be taught.” Coulson pointed at the screen.
Several of Natasha’s casual movements had not been casual at all.
They were field signals used by S.H.I.E.L.D.
agents.
Once decoded, the message was enough to make Coulson’s voice rise with excitement.
If every S.H.I.E.L.D.
agent could be trained in techniques like that, they would become entry-level superhumans.
