“When it comes to fighting, it doesn’t matter what method you use.

The one who’s still standing at the end is the winner.”

That was the experience Wade had gained from years of surviving in the slums of Flushing.Full novel: Marvel: I Am the Lord of the Stars — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

So only an idiot would stand around and wait for Abomination to walk up to him.

Based on the kick he had just landed, Wade already had a rough understanding of his opponent.

Abomination’s body was far stronger than his own, and he should also possess greater raw strength.

On the other hand, speed, reflexes, and agility were Wade’s advantages.

And the key to defeating an enemy was simple—use your strengths to hammer their weaknesses.

As the distance between them gradually closed, with only a little over twenty meters remaining, Wade’s figure suddenly disappeared.

He moved so fast that Abomination could only see a fleeting afterimage.

The afterimage became even more indistinct beneath the cover of the night.

Then Abomination suddenly felt a sharp pain in his chest.

Wade had charged forward and delivered another vicious kick.

Combined with the speed at which he had broken the sound barrier, the kick was practically a cannonball fired from a barrel.

Of course, this particular cannonball wasn’t capable of killing anyone.

It just packed an absurd amount of impact force.

And that was enough.

Abomination was sent flying a considerable distance.

From now on, their battlefield would be hundreds—even thousands—of meters away from the city.

Abomination cursed as he flew backward.

“You little brat!

You actually attacked me by surprise?”

Wade looked at him as though he were looking at an idiot.

This guy had once been a soldier, yet after gaining power that didn’t belong to him, had he forgotten the basic qualities of a warrior?

Even street thugs knew how to use surprise attacks.

Abomination soon realized that he hadn’t actually suffered any serious damage.

Just as he was about to grab Wade’s leg and twist him into a bloody mess, Wade suddenly planted his foot against Abomination’s chest and pushed off with all his strength, using the recoil to create distance.

This wasn’t the end.

It was only the beginning.

By creating distance, Wade had given himself enough room to accelerate again.

He immediately burst forward, easily catching up to the still-retreating Abomination and delivering another powerful kick before his opponent could stabilize himself.

And then he did it again.

And again.

Abomination’s enormous body was practically being used as a soccer ball, kicked farther and farther away with every strike.

His massive, cumbersome frame simply couldn’t do anything against Wade.

“Fuck!

Damn brat!

If you’ve got the guts, fight me head-on!”

Abomination felt like his ridiculously powerful lungs were about to explode from rage.

He hadn’t suffered even the slightest real injury, yet being kicked around like this was unbelievably humiliating.

And the worst part was that Wade was deliberately being a pain in the ass.

Every kick landed in a different place.

With his temper rapidly reaching its limit, Abomination couldn’t predict where the next attack would come from.

Fortunately, he was only a knockoff.

If this had been the real Hulk, Wade definitely wouldn’t have tried provoking him like this.

High above the city, inside an Apache helicopter.

A soldier stared at Abomination, who was being driven farther and farther backward, and stammered,

“G-General…

did we land in the wrong place?”

Ross’s face was equally dark.

“How the hell should I know something like this would happen?

But if Banner didn’t die from the fall, he’ll find a way to get here.”

Ross’s expression became strange.

“Still, I’d really like to know what the hell is happening down there.

Why does Blonsky keep moving backward?”

Boom!

After spending nearly half a minute flying through the air, Abomination finally experienced the joy of touching the ground again.

He had never imagined it.

Apparently, landing could feel this wonderful.

Wade stopped as well, his chest rising and falling rapidly.

He needed a moment to recover.

The continuous bursts of explosive movement were beginning to strain his still-developing body.

As for Abomination, he immediately stood up.

He looked around, his twisted neck making his appearance even more bizarre.

“A deserted area on the outskirts of the city?”

He sneered.

“Have mutants suddenly become this kind-hearted?

What, are you trying to protect the city’s peace?”

What the hell are you talking about?

You probably had no idea how many buildings you’d already destroyed while I was kicking you all the way here.

Wade sneered.

“First, being a mutant has nothing to do with being evil.”

“Second, I’m not some noble hero.

I just don’t want to accidentally hurt innocent people.

After all, things might get a little…

destructive in a moment.”

“And finally…”

Wade grinned.

“I kicked you all the way here because I wanted you to experience the wrath of the heavens.”

Abomination: “???”

Wade raised his arm.

There was actually a hint of excitement on his face.

What would it feel like to completely unleash the power he had only just awakened?

He had heard that Abomination’s body was incredibly tough.

Fine.

Then he would give him something exciting.

“General, one o’clock direction.

Something appears to be falling from the sky fifteen kilometers away.”

“What is it?”

Ross, who was flying toward the area in a helicopter, narrowed his eyes as he stared at the distant points of light.

At this moment, Ross wasn’t the only one watching.

Charles was watching too.

And so was a certain black-haired man from S.H.I.E.L.D.

They were all using their respective equipment to monitor what was about to happen.

A howling sound and oppressive force tore through the clouds above Wade.

Abomination felt as though something glowing was rapidly approaching from above.

“More useless missiles?”

He looked disdainful.

He had already experienced them before.

But could the little brat in front of him withstand them?

A cruel smile spread across Abomination’s face.

He decided he would catch the “missile” and throw it at Wade.

“Damn mutant brat.

How about I give you a present too?”

As he spoke, Abomination stretched out his hands, preparing to catch the approaching light.

Wade: “???”

Is this guy seriously planning to catch divine punishment with his bare hands?

Abomination grinned, his neck still crooked at an unnatural angle.

“Ready, brat?

Let me show you the difference in strength.”

The fiery object drew closer.

Abomination didn’t even bother looking at it.

His dull senses completely failed to notice the abnormal change in temperature around him.

Then—

The fiery object landed in his hands.

Except…

The solid, rounded, aerodynamic metallic texture he expected from a missile was nowhere to be found.

Instead, there was only excruciating pain.

And unbearable heat.

BOOM!!!

The explosion was loud enough to shake the heavens.

At an astronomical observation station somewhere far away, an observer nearly lost his mind.

“What the hell is going on?!

Three meteors have fallen in just two days!

Wait…

no, this time it’s a meteor shower!”

Abomination, however, was in much worse shape.

His entire arm was nearly broken by the impact.

The meteor, more than half a meter in diameter, smashed into him with terrifying force.

His entire body was driven four or five meters into the ground, while the meteor itself vaporized on impact, coating him in black dust and debris.

“This…

this is a meteor?”

Abomination stared at the remnants beside him, both bewildered and in pain.

Then Wade’s voice came from nearby.

“Hey, don’t rush.”

“This is only the beginning.”

“Get ready to feel the wrath of the heavens!”

Abomination’s normally small eyes widened to their absolute limit.

Above him…

One streak.

Then two.

Then three…

Eventually, there were so many that Abomination stopped trying to count.

“That brat can actually summon meteors to hit me?!”

“AAAAAAHHHH!!!”

That was Abomination’s final thought.

Because in the next moment—

The meteors locked onto him.

And one after another, they came crashing down.
