The city’s night sky wasn’t particularly deep or dark because of all the lights.

But on the deserted outskirts of New York, meteors streaked down from the heavens one after another, trailing blazing flames.

The continuous impacts made the entire city tremble.Full novel: Marvel: I Am the Lord of the Stars — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

It was as though a giant was repeatedly smashing his fists into the ground, each blow striking deep into the earth and shaking the very soul of the land.

The shockwaves spread outward, making the ground rise and fall like waves.

For several kilometers around Wade, everything had been reduced to ruins.

Clouds of dust billowed into the air, forming a massive vortex that hung over the city.

Only after the deafening explosions finally subsided did the surroundings gradually fall silent.

Looking at the hazy scene beneath the night sky, everyone watching couldn’t help but feel a chill run down their spines.

And along with it came an instinctive awe toward the terrifying power of nature.

“Cough, cough, cough!”

As for Wade, he nearly choked to death on the dust he had created himself.

He patted the dust off his clothes.

Fortunately, his body itself was perfectly fine.

“How’s that guy doing?”

Wade narrowed his eyes.

In front of him was a massive crater more than ten meters deep, with red-hot chunks of stone scattered across its bottom.

The heat generated by the meteor impacts, combined with the enclosed space inside the crater, had turned the entire place into a gigantic furnace, continuously scorching everything within.

And Abomination was barely recognizable.

His body had been smashed to pieces.

There wasn’t a single part of him that remained intact.

His originally dark-green skin had been burned black, giving off an acrid, unpleasant smell.

But Abomination’s vitality was astonishing.

Even in a state like this, he still hadn’t completely died.

With only half his face remaining, Abomination desperately tried to raise the last hand he could still move.

He stared at Wade with intense unwillingness.

Then, with one final breath…

He died.

Wade stared at the horrific scene before him and couldn’t help inhaling sharply.

The destructive power of a focused meteor shower was far beyond what he had imagined.

And killing Abomination had never been his intention.

He had only wanted to protect his family.

Wade’s mood became somewhat heavy.

He suddenly understood why Charles had used his telepathy to restrain him back at the hospital.

“If I use the power hidden inside me recklessly…”

Wade’s expression darkened.

“…I’ll become the enemy of the entire world, won’t I?”

Part of his unease came from Abomination’s death.

Another part came from the fact that excessive use of his abilities had begun to exhaust him mentally.

But the next moment, Wade forcibly pulled himself together.

Because another green figure had arrived from the sky.

It was Hulk.

BOOM!

Hulk landed heavily inside the massive crater in front of Wade.

He immediately raised one bare foot and viciously stomped down on Abomination’s already-dead head.

His skin was constantly being damaged by the intense heat, only to regenerate almost instantly thanks to his incredible healing ability.

Hulk continued stomping. This chapter was taken from g.com without permission.

Again.

And again.

Only when Abomination’s skull had been completely crushed did he finally stop.

Okay.

The real deal really is stronger.

Wade swallowed and muttered under his breath,

“Now Abomination is definitely, absolutely, completely dead.”

“ROOOAAARRR!”

After finishing, Hulk still looked dissatisfied.

He threw his head back and let out an angry roar.

He was extremely frustrated.

Strictly speaking, none of this had much to do with Hulk—or rather, Banner.

But whether it was Abomination or General Ross’s super-soldier research, Banner was deeply entangled in both.

So, in order to finally put an end to all these complications, he had jumped from Ross’s helicopter, attempting to force Hulk to emerge by threatening his own life.

And it had worked.

Hulk had finally emerged.

But the target he had wanted to vent his anger on—Abomination—had already been killed by Wade before Hulk could even fight him.

So Hulk was both irritated and helpless.

Fortunately, he was still retaining a considerable amount of rationality.

After all, Banner had only recently undergone the procedure intended to suppress Hulk.

Hulk gritted his teeth and climbed up the slope of the crater.

The eyes of the two—one large, one small—met for several seconds.

Then Hulk spoke in a deep voice.

“You…

shouldn’t be here.”

Wade was confused.

“What?”

Just as Hulk was about to say something else, several helicopters arrived.

Blinding white searchlights illuminated his massive body.

Hulk instinctively raised an arm to shield his eyes.

Then he continued,

“Now, you and I…”

“…we’re both monsters in their eyes.”

As he spoke, the humanity in Hulk’s eyes gradually faded.

His thick legs bent.

Then he launched himself into the air.

In an instant, he disappeared from Wade’s sight.

“Monsters…?”

Wade stood there, somewhat lost.

Then the helicopters began lowering ropes.

Soldiers climbed down with their weapons raised, slowly approaching Wade.

A voice shouted through a loudspeaker:

“Person ahead!

Raise your hands!”

Wade frowned slightly.

There was no way he could let these people capture him.

He immediately pulled his thin shirt over his face, making sure his identity wouldn’t be exposed.

Then he pushed off with both feet.

His body exploded forward at a speed even greater than Hulk’s.

In the blink of an eye, he disappeared from everyone’s sight.

S.H.I.E.L.D.

A certain bald, dark-skinned man stared coldly at the screen, watching Wade’s every movement.

“Director, the analysis is complete.”

A capable blonde woman approached with a stack of documents and handed them to the bald man.

The director of S.H.I.E.L.D.—Nick Fury.

“Thank you, Hill.”

Nick took the documents and quickly flipped through them.

“As expected…

an Omega-level mutant.”

His gaze returned to the screens.

One screen showed the crater where Abomination had been buried.

Another showed Wade returning to his grandmother’s home and taking her away.

What terrifying destructive power.

If this power were used in warfare…

Under such overwhelming heavenly might, there would be nothing standing in America’s way.

Even the kind of complete unification that no one dared imagine might not be impossible.

No.

How can I even be thinking like this?

Nick expressionlessly bit his tongue.

The thought that had just crossed his mind completely contradicted S.H.I.E.L.D.’s principles.

That would be nothing more than hegemony.

It would only drag the entire world back into an age of war.

Seeing Nick fall silent, Coulson asked quietly,

“Director, what are you thinking about?”

“Are you planning to capture him?”

“Capture him?”

Nick glanced at him.

“Are you trying to send our people to their deaths?”

“His age may be young, but he already possesses a mature mind.

Using brute force against him will probably only make things worse.”

“Then…”

“Prepare everything.”

Nick turned away.

“I’m going to pay Professor X a personal visit.”

Coulson had a feeling Nick definitely had something else he wanted to say but hadn’t.

Nick was already walking away.

“We need to get there before those people in the military do.”
