8:00 a.m.—Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, a single-student dormitory.

The crisp sound of an alarm rang out.

At the same time, a ray of sunlight happened to fall across the young man lying on the bed, making his already handsome and refined features appear even more striking.Full novel: Marvel: I Am the Lord of the Stars — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

A few strands of black hair rested lightly against his forehead.

The young man’s brows furrowed in annoyance at the persistent alarm.

He casually raised a hand and snapped his fingers.

An invisible force of psychic power immediately pulled the vibrating phone into his palm.

After quickly shutting off the alarm, he buried himself beneath the blankets again.

About twenty minutes later, his eyes suddenly snapped open.

His expression changed.

“Oh, crap, oh, crap!

I almost forgot.

Today’s an important day!”

Just then, his phone began ringing.

He sprang out of bed, grabbed the phone, and hurried toward the bathroom, completely bare-chested.

“Hello, Ororo?

What’s up?”

“Wade, I’m afraid our first date is going to be canceled.”

Ororo’s pleasant voice came through the phone.

“Two unfamiliar guests have arrived at the school.

They’re very different from ordinary mutants, and the Professor needs me to keep an eye on them.”

Wade’s face fell.

“You’ve got to be kidding me.”

“I’m afraid it’s true.”

A soft, amused laugh came from the other end.

But Ororo’s tone suddenly changed.

“By the way…

you haven’t gotten out of bed yet, have you?”

“No.

How could I possibly be lazy on such an important day?”

Wade quietly lowered his toothbrush and rinsed his mouth.

“Then why can I hear running water?”

Wade answered with a completely straight face.

“I think you’re imagining things.”

“Oh?”

Ororo’s voice suddenly turned cold.

“Then would you mind opening your door?”

“I’m standing outside.

Right now.”

Wade: “…”

A few seconds later, Wade opened the door.

Ororo was standing prettily outside.

Five years had passed, and the brown-skinned woman had only become more alluring with age.

Her unique charm was enough to captivate anyone who looked at her.

She pursed her lips.

“I knew it.

You lazy bum.”

Wade looked helpless.

“Hmph.”

Ororo shifted her gaze slightly.

“Winter is almost here.

Hurry up and put on a shirt.”

Wade was nearing adulthood now, and his physique had become remarkably strong, like a flawless sculpture carved from jade.

Wade looked at Ororo with amusement.

She couldn’t help taking half a step backward.

“Hmm?”

“You’re blushing?”

Wade narrowed his eyes playfully.

Over the past five years, the two had become extremely familiar with each other.

Ororo flushed with embarrassment and lightly kicked Wade’s shin.

“Go away!”

Wade rested one hand against the doorframe, smiling as he looked at her.

But the peaceful atmosphere didn’t last long.

Wade’s brows suddenly furrowed.

Through his senses, he detected an unfamiliar brainwave nearby.

It was completely different from the others.

A stranger.

A mutant.

Wade immediately grabbed Ororo and pulled her into the room.

“Careful.

Someone unfamiliar is coming.”

He released her hand and stepped forward.

His movement was so fast that it looked almost like teleportation.

He raised his palm and stopped the hurriedly approaching man directly in his tracks.

“Who are—”

Wade didn’t even finish the question before he already knew the answer.

It was a middle-aged man.

He was wearing a hoodie that clearly didn’t belong to him, the fabric stretched tightly over his muscular body.

He was roughly the same height as Wade.

Though, admittedly, that didn’t include his ridiculously upright hair.

His hairstyle was wild and explosive.

He had a thick beard, and his entire body radiated a sense of raw savagery.

His sharp, vigilant eyes resembled those of a lone wolf wandering across the wilderness.

W-Wolverine?

After five years, Wade had finally encountered one of the most iconic mutants of them all.

Judging from his appearance, he had only just arrived.

The memories of how Wolverine eventually came to the school quickly resurfaced in Wade’s mind.

No wonder the brainwave he had sensed was so vigilant and aggressive.

The problem was that Wade knew Wolverine.

Wolverine certainly didn’t know Wade.

Naturally, Logan was extremely unhappy about this stranger suddenly blocking his path.

He grabbed Wade’s arm and attempted to throw him over his shoulder.

But Wade didn’t move an inch.

His feet were planted firmly on the ground as if they had taken root.

“You’re too tense.”

Wade spoke calmly.

At the same time, he exerted a little force through the hand resting against Logan’s shoulder and firmly restrained him.

Ororo had also reacted.

She stared at Logan warily.

Years of combat experience told her that the man standing before them was extremely dangerous.

“None of your business!”

Logan gritted his teeth and tried to wrench himself free.

But Wade’s hand felt as though it weighed a thousand pounds.

He couldn’t move even an inch.

After several seconds, Logan seemed to give up resisting.

His tone softened slightly as he lowered his head.

“Who are you?”

“Where am I?”

“And why the hell am I here?”

Ororo was just about to answer when her expression suddenly changed.

“Wade, watch out!”

Logan’s other hand had risen.

Metallic claws shot out from his knuckles.

The unmistakable sound of snikt filled the hallway.

He was preparing to slash Wade at point-blank range.

But Wade saw the entire movement clearly.

Five years ago, his neural reaction speed had already been more than a thousand times that of an ordinary person.

And now?

It was even faster.

He raised his free hand and placed it directly in front of Logan’s claws.

An invisible force field appeared between them.

Logan’s claws couldn’t advance even half an inch.

“What the hell is this?”

The veins on Logan’s arm bulged as he desperately tried to force his claws downward.

Still, they couldn’t move.

“Simply put, it’s an application of repulsive force.”

Wade looked completely relaxed.

“Please don’t get excited.

There are no enemies here.”

“Or…

do you want to try again?”

Like hell I do.

Logan looked at Wade as if he were staring at a monster.

How the hell is this kid so strong?

And what kind of bizarre ability is this?

Adamantium might be practically indestructible, but it still had to actually hit someone.

What good was cutting empty air?

“Wade, let him go.”

Charles’s telepathic voice quietly echoed through the hallway.

“He isn’t our enemy.

Bring him to me.”

I know Wolverine isn’t an enemy.

Thinking this to himself, Wade released both forces.

Logan was left standing there, looking somewhat bewildered.

Wade walked over and friendly patted him on the shoulder.

“Come on.”

“I’ll take you to meet an old geezer.”
